A Spark Between Them (Fandral)

[Saga]

Saga looked at him.

"You love me?" asked Saga.

She paused at his words as he hugged her. She pushed him back.

"Soma must have put up to this. Or I'm having a nightmare. You couldn't possibly..."

She trailed off as tears rolled down her face. She'd worked so hard to be a good warrior and join the queen's guard. She had no time fo r romance even though she'd fallen for Fandral so long ago. No matter how many different ways she tried to distract herself almost nothing had worked. Until she'd just stopped feeling anything and focused completely on her training. It made her a better warrior but she'd become so cold and distant. And now emotions she'd buried so long ago were coming back.

"No. I can't go through this again. Love hurts too much." whispered Saga.

He had said he loved her but after denying her feelings for so long she didn't know what to believe in.

Fandral nodded but was saddened to see saga in such anger and denial. No doubt the stress of the kingdom falling and the fact she failed to protect certain parts of it were getting to her. "This is no nightmare. This is no joke. I am speaking from the heart and will continue to speak. I will do whatever it takes to prove it to you" Fandral wanted so badly to kiss her but he didn't want to do that to overwhelm her. Plus it was in kind of bad taste considering she was crying so much. Fandral pulled her close again, hugging her more. "It does hurt but it can also heal. It can be broken but it can also be fixed. I know you are afraid saga, but it is alright. I will do everything in my power to make you feel like the amazing warrior you are" Fandral held her close. He sighed, feeling his heart break as she was devastated before him.

He felt a closeness between them, as he helped her look at him. He replied, softly, gently but with meaningful firmness "I love you saga. I will whisper it to you every day. I will shout it to the mountains. I will say it to every man, woman and child I see. I love you dearest saga"

Saga looked at him sadly.

"This can't be real. It can't be." said Saga, her resolve weakening.

She sighed as he held her close. She wanted to push him away but also never let him go. Why was this all so confusing?

"You really mean that? You love me? I've been in love with you so long I can't remember when I wasn't." said Saga.

She sighed in frustration. So much time wasted. And he even helped her with her own guilt. She paused wrapping her arms around him and just kissing him forgetting everything else.

"It is real, dearest Saga. I mean it with every breath I take. I am in love with you" Fandral insisted, aware that saga was finally listening to him. He held her close, relieved that even if she was hesitant that she was now aware of the feelings he had for her. He had loved her since they were younger and was relieved to finally spill it out. He nodded insistently as she asked for his sincerity "Of course I mean it. You're the most incredible woman in all the realms. I have been in love with you for years. I always have loved you and I always will"

Suddenly, like a miracle, she kissed him. He lovingly kissed back, wanting this moment to never end. He pulled her close, enveloping himself with this feeling of joy and love as they kissed. He forgot how long they were in there, he didn't really care anyway, but after a long time had passed he reluctantly pulled away. He looked at her with a joyful grin and replied "Saga, you have no idea how much that kiss means to me. I wanted that for eons"

Saga smiled at him.

"I want this to be real. I just don't know if it is." said Saga, still having her doubts.

She blushed a bit at his praise.

"You really mean that?" asked Saga.

She grinned as she felt more confident.

"And I've felt this way about you for so long. You're handsome, charming, funny, strong, and so much more." said Saga.

Feeling him kiss her back it felt like a weight had lifted off her shoulders. She smiled after they pulled back and he spoke up again.

"The feeling's mutual." said Saga.

As she spoke the lights turned on and the door creaked open.

"When I get my hands on my sister...."

"Then I shall continue to prove it to you for the rest of our days" Fandral declared boldly. Fandral nodded insistently as saga asked him if he meant it. He then smiled as saga expressed that she felt similar and replied "You are more beautiful and charming than any person in the nine realms, saga" He then smiled and was about to reply to saga's feelings more when the lights turned on and the door creaked open. He smiled nervously and replied "Perhaps do not be too angry with her. After all, she helped us in a way" But he had a feeling saga was probably gonna kill soma anyway for it. He then replied, assisting her "Well let us go find her I suppose" As saga was helped up, he kissed her hand and held it, leading her to find the other

Saga grinned.

"I look forward to that." said Saga.

Saga blushed a little as his words.

"Thank you. I always found you handsome but I thought you wouldn't look at me that way. I didn't want to get my hopes up." said Saga.

She shook her head.

"She should still have not interfered. It is my life and she should have butted out." said Saga.

She chuckled.

"Well I can find her later. Perhaps we could grab something to eat. I am a little hungry." said Saga.

Fandral smiled as Saga finally started to believe him. After she admitted she didn't try to get his attention due to being uncertain of his attraction, Fandral felt hints of guilt. Fandral took her hands, replying softly "Saga, out of all the girls in our home, you were always the loveliest. I just was.. uncertain of how to express my feelings. Mostly because I saw how passionate you were as a warrior for our queen, I didn't want to become a distraction and possibly ruin what we had" Fandral sighed, admitting "I suppose we should have done this sooner, avoid our hearts aching like this"

Fandral couldn't help but smile amusedly at how mad Saga became. He would never say this aloud but he found Saga's anger to be quite attractive. He decided to butt out of the sister's relationship regardless and just teased "Well, if you must fight her, do it outside. I do not want Coulson to be angry of the mess you two make" He then nodded, replying gently "We should have some leftovers. Provided that Volstagg hadn't stolen them all"
