Inside The Walls

[Kalin]

(OCC: January 8th, afternoon. Around after lunchtime to be specifically exact. Open for all, especially members not used often. I'll bring more of my characters but now only Kalin)

Kalin was beyond stuffed from today's feast but was incredibly bored. He felt like he needed something to do. Most of his comrades, even Torian were busy working with other things. News of Master Johnny being pregnant have been announced and everyone was under specific orders to either prepare for the babies or take extra care protecting the royal family. Yet Loki made Kalin just stick to the main entrance doors for now. Kalin wanted someone to talk to, something to do. He was SO bored. He wanted to see Johnny and help. But he was forced here.

"I suppose I'm doomed to be alone all day" He obnoxiously said outloud. Unknowing that there were some coming out to either see him or help out.

[Jennifer Walters/She Hulk]

Jennifer walked out to the entrance grinning as she spotted Kalin. She hadn't gotten the chance to talk to him yet.. Sure she'd been here only a few days but she wanted to be friends with everyone. At least the ones who didn't creep her out. She smiled walking up to him.

"Hello. Kalin right? I'm Jennifer. You mind if I join you for a bit? Or do you need to guard the doors alone or something?" asked Jennifer.

She paused seeing Johnny walk by and she bowed to him.

"Good afternoon my queen." said Jennifer.

She saw him freeze at her words and she chuckled.

"Forgive me your majesty. I couldn't resist calling you that just once." said Jennifer.

Johnny walked around. He had the bracelet that allowed him to control his powers. They were working on a way to turn him into an Asgardian and he was still skeptical about being pregnant. Despite what Loki said people had always left him before and he knew Loki loved him. But there still the nagging doubt in his mind that this could end at any time and he'd be alone. He paused seeing Kalin and Jennifer and smiled focusing on them.

"Hello Jennifer. Kalin. How are you both doing today?" said Johnny.

He froze as Jennifer called him queen and she chuckled as he realized she was teasing him.

"It's alright. I don't really like titles myself but I suppose if you have to call me something then just go with majesty." Said Johnny.

Johnny paused seeing Eugene come in and start cleaning. He pitied the boy as he now belonged to the Other. Unlike Victor he didn't deserve it. But there was no overturning a command Loki had made. Not without appearing weak and he knew he couldn't let that happen either. He sighed inwardly before focusing back on Kalin and Jennifer.

Eugene walked by with a broom as he swept the area. He was a slave and he'd been assigned to clean this area while some of the others were cleaning the other areas of the palace. He hated being a slave and the mark his master had left him. But he knew his choices had been taken away and he was jealous that most of the other slaves now had a kind master in Prince Evan. But he had to go run his mouth and end up with a cruel master. He was just lucky The Other hadn't tortured him or done that weird hocus pocus with his mind again. He paused realizing he was slacking off and he didn't want to get in trouble so he focused back on his cleaning.

[Kalin]

"Ah! Yes that is my name! No, please. I could use the company" Kalin responded, absolutely relieved to not be alone any longer. He then smiled brightly to her "A pleasure to meet you, Jennifer. Truly. It was getting incredibly..." He then saw Johnny and immediately bowed. Kalin beamed brightly "Your highness. A pleasure to see you" He then listened as Johnny didn't really like titles "Why not, sir? A man as high as you should be spoken with authority. At least I think so, if you do not mind me admitting" Kalin was from the streets before working for the king. He was taught to always speak to the royals with high authority. He didn't know of Johnny's humbleness struggling with his title.

He turned to Eugene and saw Johnny look displeased. Assuming this as Johnny wanted Eugene to join them, Kalin replied cheerfully "You there! Young man. Would you like to talk with us?"

Trigger was incredibly busy with arranging work on Johnny's turn to asgardian. Which meant inspecting a lot of things with the king. So the mute was very busy. Yet Loki decided to work with his brother more now which left Trigger with some spare time. Trigger, when done with the king, normally always went to hogun. And he planned on doing so again like normal but Trigger knew he had to befriend and get to know others a lot more than just by name. The people in this palace did need to trust and know him after all. Otherwise they might get suspicious or think of him as not loyal. The mute wasn't stupid to rumor but so far no one mocked or spread things about him. Trigger smiled at the thought. Kindness went a long way sometimes.

He then saw Jennifer, Kalin, Eugene and Johnny Storm. It is nice to see you out and about, your majesty Trigger said as he came closer to the group. He then bowed respectfully to johnny before tipping his hat to Jennifer and Kalin with a grin. He then saw Kalin go and insist Eugene to join them. Agreeing with Kalin's kindness the mute responded Yes do join us. You've been working hard I see He too pited the child. Hogun told him about Eugene's forced enslavement with the Other, which made Trigger somewhat disgusted with the king. Not enough to say anything but it made Trigger realize how complex the king truly was. That and how angry Loki could really get. A pleasure to see all of you. It was rather busy today

[Jennifer Walters/She Hulk]

Jennifer grinned at him.

"I'm glad to hear that. Maybe I could join you in guarding at least? I wouldn't want you to be bored. And two pairs of eyes are better than one right?" said Jennifer.

Jennifer smiled at Johnny and then Trigger arrived. She was shocked as Eugene nearly flinched as they asked him to come and looked terrified.

"No one's going to hurt you. You're safe here." said Jennifer.

She smiled as Eugene came over when Johnny asked him to. But she was shocked and horrified as he started crying when Johnny hugged him.

"You poor thing. You're just a boy. You shouldn't be treated like this. This Other does sound like a monster." said Jennifer.

Jennifer paled realizing she set him off again and nodded.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. I'm sure The Other's a good master." said Jennifer.

Johnny sighed glancing at Jennifer and Kalin.

"Well I grew up a commoner I suppose. I mean I did get fame as a superhero in the Fantastic Four. But that's nothing compared to be the king's consort and now his fiance. And now I'm pregnant. It's just all so much. And now Loki's looking for a way to make me immortal. The doctors said we had to wait awhile to make sure nothing could affect my babies. I still can't believe I'm having kids." said Johnny.

He paused glancing over as Eugene was now terrified.

"Jennifer's right. You don't need to be scared." said Johnny.

He heard Eugene speak and he shook his head.

"I'm sorry you have such a cruel master. But I won't let anyone hurt you." said Johnny.

Johnny relaxed as Eugene came to him and Johnny hugged him. His heart felt like it was breaking as Eugene relaxed and started crying.

"I'll find a way to keep you safe Eugene. No matter how long it take." said Johnny.

Johnny was also shocked at Eugene's reaction to Jennifer badmouthing The Other. He would definitely try to talk to Loki. He paused looking at Kalin.

"Could you fetch him some water please?" asked Johnny.

Eugene paused looking up as everyone started calling towards him to come. He was trembling and he could barely hold his broom.

"Please just let me work. I'll be good. I'm going as fast as I can. Just please don't be angry." said Eugene.

He paused as he heard them trying to calm him down as Johnny spoke. And he knew he couldn't refuse a royal order as Johnny was practically queen already.

"Alright. I'll come if that's what you wish your majesty." said Eugene.

He walked over to them as to his surprise Johnny wrapped him into a hug and he couldn't help but sob into his shirt. He then realized what he was doing and tried to let go but Johnny was surprisingly strong for a pregnant man. So he just let Johnny hold him. He felt Jennifer run her fingers through his hair and was surprised with how kind they were all being. Eugene shook his head at Jennifer's words afraid of his wrath. Afraid he could hear wha they were saying.

"The Other's a good master. A good master. I do my chores and whatever he wishes me to. I know my place." said Eugene.

When Jennifer and Johnny tried to assure him again he relaxed a little. Why couldn't his masters have been more like these three?

Kalin

[Trigger]

"What a wonderful idea, my lady! It would definitely be more important to have more eyes on a certain place" Kalin replied, delighted that Jennifer offered to join him in guarding more. That would definitely be nice. To have a friend to chit chat the boring hours away. Say what you would about responsibility but staying in one place for a long time got to people. Especially to someone as social as Kalin. He then turned to Johnny with a beaming grin "What a delightful thing for my ears to hear, your majesty. I couldn't be more happy for you. But I can understand someone as high as you being overwhelmed by all this change" Kalin honestly responded as Johnny explained his humility.

He then saw Eugene react with fear towards the entire group and Kalin's eyes widened with concern. "Yes, my boy. I assure you, we all wish to be friends with you. No need to be afraid at all!" Kalin was insistent like Johnny and Jennifer and was relieved to see him warm up to them. He joined them, temporarily forgetting his post and did everything HE could to comfort him. He saw Johnny do his best and Eugene burst into sadness. Kalin's heart poured for him. Unlike johnny or Trigger, he didn't think Loki was involved at all. His bitterness went to the other completely. "Poor boy, you do not need to be so afraid. There is no "place" for people to be in"

When ordered by Johnny to get some water, he nodded with a quick "Yes your majesty" and ran for the hills. He was quick and got a class of tall water. Kalin was careful enough to not spill, but fast enough to be back in quick time. "Here, young man. Drink. Please" He then saw Trigger ask to speak to johnny alone for a minute, but Kalin was paying more attention to Eugene. Kalin held the boy's shoulder and looked at him with a protective look "If the other is bothering you, I can file a report as a guard"

You are not in trouble. You are not alone. You are safe among us Trigger immediately knew what was wrong. As a former abused slave, he knew exactly the signs, troubles and pains one would go through. When Jennifer and Johnny stopped talking to him and while Johnny was hugging, Trigger said this. He wanted to use a spell to sooth Eugene's mind but he didn't know if he could do so without Johnny's permission and Eugene's. He watched with sorrow and a bit of anger at the other as Eugene began defending the other. And began panicking and crying. After he snapped at Jennifer, Trigger gave him a tight hug You do not have to defend your master. Not around us. What is said will be kept silent. He understood Eugene's fear, he experienced it.

He DID have resentment at the king but his rage was mostly at The Other. How dare he take this too far?! Loki said to discipline the child, not brutally abuse him. He went to Johnny and gave a soft, persistent look Master Johnny. Can I have a word with you alone for just a moment? I would like to ask you a few things that are rather private. That and he didn't want to embarrass/scare Eugene any more than he was.

[Eugene "Flash" Thompson]

Jennifer grinned at Kalin.

"I'm glad I could brighten your day. Even for a little while." said Jennifer.

Jennifer nodded hearing Johnny.

"It is a lot to process but we're all here to help you anyway we can your majesty ." said Jennifer.

She turned to Eugene helping Kalin relax him as Johnny and Trigger left to talk by themselves.

"I wish we could free you from him." said Jennifer.

Eugene seemed persistent in defending his master and wanting to do what he said. Which worried her. Was it some kind of Stocholm Syndrome where Eugene was already bonding in some way with his new master?

Eugene was nervous listening to them.

"You are guards, nobles, and the future queen. I'm just a slave. You don't possibly want to be friends with me." said Eugene.

He glanced at Johnny remembering Johnny had been a former slave and former consort.

"I sometimes forget how you started out. If only we were all that lucky." said Eugene.

He paused turning back to Kalin and shook his head.

"No you're wrong. Loki gave me to my master to be punished. He punished me physically and mentally at first. But now he's teaching me and helping me." said Eugene.

Eugene knew he was making excuses and part of him didn't believe this. But the other part was afraid The Other would find out. Or this was a test of his. He did not want to disappoint or fail his master. He took the water reluctantly that Kalin had brought and sippe d it feeling a bit calmer. He watched Johnny and Trigger walk away and heard Kalin. He shook his head.

"There's nothing to be done. My master can't get in trouble for hurting me as that's what he was told to do after all. I'll manage somehow." said Eugene.

He paused and shook his head listening to Trigger while accepting his hug and holding him back.

"He'll know. He probably even knows about this conversation." said Eugene.

He sighed wishing he could return to his duties.

"If only my master was more like you Trigger. Hogun is very lucky to have you." thought Eugene.

Johnny nodded.

"It's still a bit much. I mean I was a slave then Loki's consort. And now I'm not only his fiance but I'm carrying his kids. I never thought I'd find happiness. Ever since I got my powers I feared no one would want Johnny Storm. They'd want The Human Torch. But I found that in Loki and I don't want to let it go." said Johnny.

He watched as Eugene calmed down with their help and drank the water Kalin brought them. When Trigger asked for him to join him he followed. When they'd stepped into a nearby room he nodded to Trigger.

"What do you want to talk about?" asked Johnny.

[Trigger]

(OCC: I know we talked about Torian and Jennifer getting together but maybe we should have Kalin and Jennifer get together instead? What do you think? If not that's totally fine)

"Ah, what a kind soul you have, my lady" Kalin beamed at her. He liked this woman quite a lot. He then nodded as she talked to Johnny. He then gave a appalled look at Eugene's claim that nobody really wanted to be friends with him "Nonsense, my boy! You are not a rat for ymir's sake! I may be a simple guard but I look down on no one" He then saw with sadness as Eugene seemed to crave positive affection from Trigger and others. Kalin felt a strong need to protect this boy.

"It matters not who assigned you. If your master is abusing you, it is my duty to make note of it. Some of us guards tend to forget that but I remember when I was a lad, training as a guard. We are meant to represent the king and represent the people. We take care of those in the king's care. But even if you were not part of the king's care, I still wish to help you, my boy" Kalin responded, his tone gentle and kind. He wanted Eugene to feel protected. To feel safe enough to at least tell him what was wrong.

"My boy. Maybe you should come to my quarters for the day. To give you some fresh air" This was to give Eugene a chance to be near company if truly threatened. He was desperate to at least comfort Eugene. When he saw the young man break down a little, Kalin gave the boy a hug "It will be alright. I will go out of my way to find comfort for you"

You're wrong, Eugene. He may have power over your body, but I can comfort your spirit. He is not the only one with mind powers To prove his point, trigger gently waved his hand I can make you forget some of your pain. But only by your consent. After I talk with johnny, you can either accept or deny my offer. I can give you some peace my friend. Or at least make you feel safer

After giving that offer, Johnny and him went off to talk in private. Trigger turned to listen to Johnny kindly ask him what was up. Trigger gave a cautious look I wish to talk about the boy. Eugene is being abused. Severely. He is truly afraid he will be killed or tortured if he asks someone to tell on the king Trigger licked his lips slowly as if in thought before sighing We must tell Loki of the abuse. But I do fear the other will say one thing then do another. It is very typical of abused owners to lie and make the punishment even worse if told on

Trigger's eyes had a dangerous rage in them It is never alright to torture someone. Never. Not even for mischief. Eugene was rude but who wouldn't be in his position Trigger's eyes watered with past memories and sad thoughts We must protect this boy, master Johnny. Before he ends up like... Trigger looked down. Ashamed. Not wanting to finish his thought. The thought being...Ends up like me

[Jennifer Walters/She Hulk]

Jennifer blushed slightly at his reply. She hadn't expected him to say that. The Asgardians here could be so polite and charming when they wanted to be.

"Thank you." said Jennifer

She paused turning to Eugene.

"That's awful. Scaring you into obeying him without question." said Jennifer.

She frowned realizing he was right. If Loki had handed him to the Other then there's nothing anyone could do. Not even the king. If The Other killed them it wasn't illegal to kill a slave here. At least no one had said anything about it.

"This is wrong. I wish we could do something to help you." said Jennifer.

When Eugene turned them all down saying none of them had any real power she clenched her fists in anger. She could turn into She Hulk but that meant nothing here. She couldn't help him or any of the slaves here. Eugene seemed to have it pretty bad and she had no idea what to do. When he went back to mopping she just looked at him in sympathy before glancing at Kalin.

"I hate to say it but he's right. There's not much we can do. Unless we manage to kill the Other somehow. That's the only option I could see. He wouldn't let Eugene go free after all." said Jennifer.

Eugene looked at Kalin sadly.

"I might as well be. I'm a slave. The Other could do whatever he wanted with me. Even kill me if he wanted to. Loki gave me to him after all. Even if he regretted it there's nothing he could do now. After all can't afford to look weak to own army so I'm probably stuck there. But as long as I'm good he won't hurt me. So I just have to be good." said Eugene.

He looked at them both and smiled.

"You care and that does mean something. But none of you have any real power. Not even Johnny could overrule the king's decision. And the king won't reverse his decision. Just like I said. I'm stuck with him. So I just have to do things his way." said Eugene.

He shook his head pulling down his shirt collar revealing a blue star on his neck.

"He marked me. It's not just marking me as his. It's also a tracker. He knows where I am at all times and could bring me to him whenever he wished. He'd know I was disobeying him if I went with any of you. He's busy at the moment but I don't want to make things worse for myself. And it can always get worse." said Eugene.

He paused as Kalin hugged him and he returned it. He pulled away from Kalin. He blinked at Trigger's words and shook his head.

"He'd know someone messed with my head. He'd figure it out sooner or later and punish me. I thank you for the offer but I decline." said Eugene.

He watched Johnny and Trigger walk off and he sighed. He turned and walked away starting to mop again. He wanted something to focus on.

Johnny nodded sadly.

"I know. Many of us were hurt badly by the guards. Prince Evan and Eugene were some of the worst. I protected John as best as I could. I wish I'd thought to take more of them with me instead of just John when I took Loki's offer. But now it's too late." said Johnny.

He sighed.

"I tried talking to him. And I'm sure Evan and others have too. But Loki did give him to the Other. To punish Eugene and to reward The Other with a slave. Going back on it makes him look weak and risks insulting The Other as well." said Johnny.

He nodded.

"I've shot off my mouth a few times at guards and gotten in trouble for it. But the worse was a beating. Not mind torture." said Johnny.

He sighed again.

"I don't know what to do Trigger. Maybe we just need to research some laws for an answer or something." said Johnny.

[Kalin]

Kalin's body shivered with anger as Eugene sadly told there was nothing he could do. That he was a slave and the other, no matter what, would find a way to make it bad and punish Eugene. The boy practically was weak and close to cowering in the corner, but still defended the master, truly fearing for his life. Kalin looked down and growled "Disgraceful! Despicable! Cruel! That conniving..." Then he remembered that Eugene got scared when Jennifer insulted the other directly. At that he humbled himself and hugged the boy tightly "The king can always lower the sentence. There must be a way for me to help you. There must be" He eventually saw the mark and widened "Marked like a horse! Awful is what this is!" He then saw Trigger and Johnny eventually come back and talk about it still.

It is not too late, your majesty. You can make Loki reduce or lessen the other's cruelty. Still, Eugene will defend the other. And if the other is cruel enough to do this, he will save his own skin when confronted. I'm afraid Loki will have to be confronted by you alone and have the other in a private setting, where no prying eyes can make the other feel confrotned. None of us, especially not jennifer and kalin, can be in a position like that. Eugene especially cannot. The poor thing is terrified, he wants help but he is more concerned of staying alive Trigger was persistent and speaking out of his own experience. His gaze was fierce and immensely determined. He looked to Johnny like a priceless artifact waiting to be opened.

I am not saying he should go back on his word. There IS unfortunately a judgement when a order is reversed. I am merely saying there is loopholes to this. There must be Trigger insisted again. Damn the moral royal code. Such nonsense to make a order and not fix it immediately. But then again, Loki would be disgraced if every order he did was brought back. It would make him look indecisive and weak to the other parties. So Trigger was angry but understood. He shook his head sadly and confessed Eugene is suffering some of what I personally went through. If this keeps up, I don't think Eugene will ever be of healthy mind again. He'll always be paranoid if this keeps up Trigger closed his eyes, desperate not to cry. He felt so powerless and terrible. He wished he could just help Eugene get away himself. But that was treason.

I will try to talk to eugene again to let me comfort him a little. I can at least do that. Please excuse me, your majesty Trigger came back. Only to hear Eugene reject his offer. Trigger gave a soft, disappointed look as he declined. Trigger wasn't one to take no for a answer when it came to abuse If your master has such a problem with me comforting you, he can come to me. I am not one who allows abused victims to still feel powerless Trigger held his shoulder, softly looking at him It will not affect the majority of your masters powers if you are so keen to obeying him. It will just make you feel safer and more cared for. I can still give this to you

(OCC: I'm mostly doing this to show what trigger's powers are. I'm just desperate to show examples lol)

[Eugene "Flash" Thompson]

Eugene sighed as Kalin spoke.

"Please just stop. You want to help but anything you do now will just make things worse. My life may not be perfect now but I don't want it worse." said Eugene.

Eugene smiled glad Jennifer understood him and then turned to Trigger and Johnny as they joined him.

"The answer is no. No one's messing around with my mind again. Once was enough. Just let me be. Please." said Eugene.

He didn't even realize his hands were starting to shake as he could barely hold onto the mop in his hands.

"I'm going back to my duties. Before I get into more trouble." said Eugene.

He turned and walked a bit away from the group and resumed mopping the hallway again.

Jennifer paused hearing Eugene's words and looked at him sadly.

"I'm sorry. We don't want to make things worse for you." said Jennifer.

When Eugene turned down Trigger again and stepped away to resume mopping she felt so defeated.

"I hate this. He's a victim but there's nothing we can do." said Jennifer.

Johnny sighed.

"What exactly do you think I can do? Evan's tried to get him to treat slaves better too and managed to get a few belong to him. But there's not much we can for Eugene." said Johnny.

Johnny shook his head.

"And by doing that he'd get the Other mad at him who might take it out on Eugene. Or others. I can try but I don't think there's anything Loki could really do." said Johnny.

Johnny looked at Trigger in sympathy.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'm not sure how strong Eugene is but mental torture like that could break anyway I suppose." said Johnny.

Johnny followed and heard Eugene's pleas to stop and turning down Trigger.

"Eugene is right. We can't help him. At least not right now." said Johnny.

When Eugene walked away Johnny heard Jennifer and sighed.

"I know. I will try to talk with Loki but I doubt much will come of it. I think if there was a way he would have done something sooner. At least I hope he would." said Johnny.

[Trigger]

Trigger felt actually hopeless as Johnny objected to him a little more, so he focused more on Eugene's words. He stood there, nodding at last as Eugene strictly denied his requests. There was nothing else he could do for the boy. Without his consent, and without specific lawful help, Trigger couldn't do anything. He listened to the boy demand him to not do anything and to leave it be. Trigger nodded and replied, a evident sadness in his tone Very well, Eugene. I understand. I will be a support system whenever you wish me to be. I apologize for pushing you He then shrugged at Jennifer and Johnny It is no use, at least on the surface. I humbly suggest still to talk to Loki about this. Something MUST be done for the poor boy. Something HAS to. He can't suffer like this Trigger looked sadly at the boy before growling softly. He blocked this thought from Eugene and only told it to Jennifer, Kalin and Johnny If I could, I would destroy the other

"No please, don't go--" Kalin desperately as Eugene left them. Kalin was deeply disturbed as Eugene not only denied him but denied the rest of them. Eugene was clearly in despair and didn't want to be abused any longer. The boy must of felt so ashamed and alone. Kalin's blood boiled and his heart hurt for the young man. He turned to see Trigger and the rest saddened, however Kalin only expressed anger. Kalin turned to Trigger's thought and angrily mumbled "Aye. I too would like his head" He then put his hand on Jennifer's shoulder and replied softly "Well we can at least be his friends"

[Jennifer Walters/She Hulk]

Eugene was silent as he kept mopping knowing they were talking about him even if he couldn't hear what they were saying. He just didn't want to get into anymore trouble.

Jennifer paused hearing Johnny. Then watched him in tears and punch a wall.

"No. This isn't your fault. Don't blame yourself." said Jennifer.

Johnny sighed.

"I don't like this either. Or did you forget I was a slave here once? I let myself become Loki's consort thinking I was just going to be a sex slave. But I only did to get John out of that place. Now I wish I'd tried to save more of them. Maybe I could have saved Eugene if I'd acted sooner." said Johnny.

He was in tears as he slammed his fist against a wall.

"This is my fault. What kind of king am I? What kind of person if I let people suffer?" said Johnny.

[Trigger]

"Jennifer is right, your majesty. This is not your doing. The king can fix this! He's told masters to lessen their cruelty before! Why not now? There's still hope for eugene. Right now we just need to be there emotionally for him!" Kalin replied, keeping his voice down to deliberately not embarrass Eugene anymore than he was. He then gave a soft pat to Johnny's shoulder "Exactly. Your position has changed, there's hope for eugene. Do not blame yourself"

Trigger sighed softly, looking over to Eugene, feeling guilty for pushing him away. But then he saw Johnny get upset and blame himself. Trigger shook his head Your highness. You can still help Eugene, talk to Loki if you can. But don't blame yourself either. This isn't your fault. The only one who's to blame is The Other.
