Hey all. Here is my fanfic page! It's for fanfictions outside of this universe, within this universe and sometimes just random stuff on the fly. More than happy to hear your thoughts if you have any for any fanfic I have here! I got plenty of ideas so keep the look-out.
I couldn't resist with this one. It's a made-up thing for Evan and Richard. Like what if Richard had a really bad nightmare? XXXXX
Inner Demons
It had been a while but Evan finally was sleeping with Richard. The other couldn't picture himself with this setting for many years. He never thought that all his life of suffering would end up having himself as a prince, in a nice comfy bed, with a man he truly loved and that he knew loved him back. Doubt used to be on his mind for the longest time but with every day with Richard, he couldn't help but feel his restraint to let go weaken. Richard was always there for him. Evan knew it wasn't his fault that his life was with constant pain. Richard, honestly, was a God-given gift that made him feel happier and better than he had in years. He was loved and Richard truly didn't seem to be going. Even when Richard and he were intimate, Richard loved him just as much as he did any other day. He wasn't a one night stand. He was Evan and Richard was his love.
It seemed though that Richard suffered a lot too in his own life.
The night at first seemed perfectly peaceful. Everyone was sleeping. The servants Evan saved were in their own beds. Richard was with him and Evan was having a peaceful sleep. Then he heard soft disturbed moans. At first it seemed like nothing but they got worse and more like pain than anything. Evan turned, concerned by the noise, but before he was about to wonder what made it he saw it was Richard. Evan widened his eyes to see the other man sweating like crazy. The mortal was not immortal yet, Loki found a source to get it but would do it the next morning, so Evan knew this wasn't just some crazy sickness or side effect. What was wrong with Richard?
He tried to shake Richard but it only made the other moan louder, Evan didn't give up though. "Richard?" He said softly
"N-no. L-leave her a-alone. It's me you want" Richard mumbled "Sh-she had nothing to do with this. C-casey!" He mumbled
Evan remembered back when they met, Richard was married before. Before she was murdered. Evan's heart broke, Richard was having a nightmare. A nightmare about his past. This made the other question.... Did Richard have these before and not tell him? Or was he so stupid to not notice? Because this wasn't the first night they slept together.
"S-stop! W-what... E-evan!" Richard murmured. That got Evan's attention twice as fast. Was this nightmare a mix of everything Richard feared?
"Don't take him too. P-please. D-don't. I-I love him, do-don't take him a-away. I'll do anything! Don't hurt Evan. Evan! Stop!" Richard's body shook worse than it ever did. It was almost as if Evan's fate was either worse than casey's was or Richard wanted Evan to stay even more than his wife. Evan wanted to stop this, his poor love was clearly not well. The other man tried to hug but Richard's body repulsed at the touch. Richard's hands flayed like mad "Get away from me! Evan!" He started crying badly "E-evan! Stop! Stop! Take me! I'm the one you want! Don't take Evan, please, I love him"
Evan was not deterred. Not this time. Richard needed him now. It was Evan's turn to comfort. Evan grabbed him and held him. He was grateful Loki gave him a few hints on healing magic so he used it on Richard now. The bright pink glow surrounded Evan's hands which one was holding Richard's head while one was holding his chest. "Richard. Baby. It's okay. Nothing's wrong. It's just a dream. Come back to me"
Richard's sobs softly died down but he still murmured Evan and Casey's names. Richard softly sighed as he felt kisses on his neck and hands smoothing out his hair. "Evan" This time Richard's tone when saying his name was not panicked or in despair. It was comforted. Peaceful.
"I'm here. I'm here" Evan assured "I'm not going away. I'm never running away again"
He was relieved to see Richard's eyes open at least, but they scurried about, panicked. Evan pulled his face by his chin and kissed him tenderly. Richard responded in kind, his arm wrapping around Evan's neck tightly and their kiss lasted for a few minutes. Until Evan had a lack of air of course did the two let go.
Evan helped the somewhat conscious Richard move so Richard's head could be on Evan's chest and his body holding onto Evan's tightly. Richard softly cried, tears streaming "Did I wake you?"
"A little" Evan replied honestly, threading his hands over Richard's hair
"Sorry" Richard murmured "Sorry, sorry"
"No. It's okay. You've just had a bad night" Evan replied "We're allowed to have those"
"I'm trying to not be overprotective I swear" Richard murmured
"Stop Richard. It's okay. Just relax and go back to sleep. I'm here and nothing's going to take me away" Evan assured, his tone affectionate
"Love you" Richard said finally, Evan kissed him on the lips as the two went to sleep.
"I love you too" Evan replied back, holding the man he truly did love in his arms.

I'm glad you liked that one.... Anyway, here's a small one-shot of Tom's past. The part particularly where his previous girlfriend left him to the present. I guess I wanted to develop a little of how much his mom meant to him. XXXXX
Mom Knows Best
Tom didn't have much but a suitcase was the only courtesy Megan gave him. With clothes, personal hygiene-wear and a couple DVD's, Tom was sent packing. Tom didn't understand. He was still himself, what made these new powers change him all of a sudden? He understood she would have to change a couple things but he never would've suspected her to be so childish about this. She claimed that if they got together, their children could get really messed up. First off, Tom thought, that was assumption she didn't know to be true, and even if they were mutated somewhat, they were still their kids that deserved to be loved. Tom didn't even want to go to that point yet, he just wanted to see if they could progress. She didn't see it that way apparently.
Honestly, Megan wasn't his first girl but she was the one he truly loved a lot. To have her kick him out insulted his pride and broke his heart. Tom pulled the suitcase as his thoughts spiraled over and over about where he went wrong as he knocked on Nancy's door. First Henry's refusal to accept him now Megan's refusal about his powers. Tom felt like he didn't need this.
Nancy opened the door and widened her eyes to see her son have some tears across his face as he held the suitcase. "Tommy. What happened!?" Nancy said concerned
"Megan left me. She kicked me out. I won't be much trouble, ma. I just..." He was suddenly grabbed by Nancy. He held her tight, trying not to break down. "I have enough money to probably get a small apartment and Mike said he can hook me up if things are too much for you" Tom insisted as he held his mother.
"Nonsense. You can stay as much as you like" Nancy insisted, grabbing the suitcase and pulling Tom in.
After a long explanation of why Megan left, Nancy started cooking. Nancy always felt words and good food were always a way to cheer people up. Tom sighed "I'm not telling Mike now"
"Darling, just because she can't accept does not mean everyone won't accept either" Nancy replied
"I know but not everyone is as kind and forgiving as you, Ma. Look I love Mike but I don't know... Megan loved me now this happens and I don't know" Tom rubbed his hair with his hands in frustration
Nancy held Tom close and replied "Give more time and think about it. Maybe time will show you if Mike can handle things. I mean, he loves the hulk for all his powers. I think he can accept you" Nancy sighed "But I see why you don't want to talk about powers with him now. Maybe after your heart heals, things will turn up"
"It's one thing to have someone you don't know have powers, it's another to have someone you trust have powers. These are dangerous ma. If I felt like it, I could switch bodies with Mike and if I tell him that power...." Tom sighed, rubbing his eyes before looking at Nancy. Nancy frowned softly as she saw his eyes were blue. Blue for sadness. He was heartbroken and she knew that this was rougher than both of them thought. "He might get scared" Tom finished
"You don't know that, dear" Nancy softly comforted but seeing Tom might not be so convinced, Nancy looked over to see her cookies were done. Nancy left them to cool before holding Tom's hands "You have to be honest with people, honey. You'll never know what might happen to them. For all you know, one minute I'm here. The next minute I'll be gone" Nancy sighed before kissing Tom's forehead "You're such a sweet boy. You'll find someone someday"
"You're right, Ma. Thanks" Tom kissed her hands "Love you. Thank you"
"I'm your mother... Moms know best" Nancy winked XXXXXX
Many months later
The grounds were in ruin and Tom had only went out for a late night stroll out of his apartment. Since megan, Tom got up on his own two feet and eventually moved into his own apartment near Mike. He was neighbors before with Mike but now the two men were closer in range and it didn't become such a hassle to meet. He only wanted a small walk and that was all. He didn't know chaos was going to happen during that walk. The chitauri blew up everyone and everything in their path. Children screamed, mothers grabbed their babies, husbands grabbed guns or their car keys to escape and help their families, cops were surrounding the area. Tom however was running. A majority of the attack was around where his mother were living. Since Megan leaving him, Tom somehow grew more overprotective of those he cared for, since he felt they were the only ones he could depend on besides himself.
"Ma! Mom!" Tom screamed as he saw fires and explosions around the small town his mother was in. He may have been tired but he didn't care right now. Where was his mother?
"Sir. It's too dangerous, stay back!" The cop tried to shove Tom but the other man wasn't having it. Tom shoved the cop and eventually found his mother's place. Firefighters just finishing up on putting down the fire.
"Ma! Mom!" Tom cried. He ran to one firefighter who was reporting some damage to a police officer. "Sir, was there anyone in there? My mom lives here. Is there any sign of her? What happened? Where is she?"
The police officer paused before giving a soft, sympathetic look. Tom's eyes widened and he shook his head. The police officer sighed "We actually discussed that a woman was actually in this house. Around the time of the explosion. I'm sorry, fella. Really. She's gone"
"No. No. You're full of shit! Mom!" Tom's eyes changed colors constantly, from red, to blue, to golden. He ran to the burned house, trying to look for any sign but all he found was a burnt picture of him when he was around a toddler with his mother holding him in front of family. Tom burst into tears, his body crumbling in the burnt rubble. A couple firefighters came over and walked him away, while he was still sobbing.
The police officer came back, with a small box of tissues "I'm sorry, son. This is really awful" As Tom took the tissues, more chitauri came about and the police officer cursed. The officer quickly took tom into his car and responded "I'm getting you someplace safe" Tom didn't want someplace safe. He wanted his mother back. Tom said nothing and just allowed the man to drive, wordless and emotionless, his eyes a dark grey

More Richard/Evan because they are my OTP now. Go away. I love them
A take on what would happen if Evan died. Because I'm sadistic. Don't worry I'll do fluff next time XXXXXXXX
Misplaced Death
It was all so sudden. Richard was fighting the Hulk, Evan was fighting that Soma chick. Richard used enough power to drive the hulk to go away but he was mixed with all the chaos and confusion. He was about to try to call for a retreat when all of a sudden he heard a loud scream from Loki.
"Brother!" He cried.
At first he thought, or at least hoped, it was Thor because this was long since the two gods made up. Thor was given his life back but he was surprisingly willing to serve Loki above all else. 'Because family', Evan explained when Richard asked why. But no, oh no. Fate wouldn't dare be so merciful to him. Richard's heart froze as he saw Evan, bleeding, seemingly lifeless. Richard used all his strength to mind control some people coming at him to keep at bay. Trigger was immediately holding the man, Loki screamed for a retreat. The king never looked so horrified. Soma was pale and her sister, Saga was pulling her back. Tony Stark was immediately crying out a retreat since John and Arion were aiming right at them.
Richard was pulled by Kalin, horror evident on that sweet face of his. Richard, throughout this, was shocked, afraid, frozen and alone. He wanted to die right then and there. But there was hope wasn't there? Not him too, God. Not him too. Not him Richard thought as Kalin dragged him to be teleported thanks to Thor's assistance. Loki and Arion were on him to the medical room. It was then Richard was out of his lifeless state and screamed "Evan! Get out of my way, Torian!" Torian was holding him back
"He needs to be healed first, Richard!" Torian tried but Kalin held his shoulder
"Let him go, friend. Evan needs everyone" Kalin said firmly
Torian released him and Richard ran to the medical room. He screamed again "Evan!" He forced Arion away. John and Johnny were silent as the grave. Thor and Jane were beside Arion, desperate for hope. Arion's eyes streamed with tears. Richard came close to the right while Loki was on the left. Loki was holding Evan's hand and evan, poor evan, was paler than ever.
"I cannot hold on, brother. I'm sorry" Evan wheezed
"You will live, damnit. You will live" Loki's eyes were wet with tears.
"He's right Evan. Don't you dare give up" Richard begged
"I can't Richard" Evan hissed as the pain increased. Evan turned to Loki "I need to be alone with Richard. Please"
Loki was evidentially distraught but as a king, he could not deny a simple request. Loki turned to Richard with a sorrow before taking Johnny and John with him. John's cries were the worst to hear. Jane weeped as a result and Thor took her away. Arion stayed for a few seconds before holding Evan's head and replying "May vahalla take you safely" Before running off to find John
"Richard?" Evan held him and Richard tried to not sob
"Stop Evan. You're not going to die" Richard begged
"Yes I am Richard" Evan said with a small smile "It's okay, I think it's time"
"I'm coming with you!" Richard then said, a bitter determination in his eyes "I'll come with you"
"No that's not what I want. I want you to be here for my family. For you to live your immortal life with someone better. You never deserved this" Evan laughed before sniffing "And to think. I thought you would leave me. You never did. I'm leaving you. Selfish bastard that I am"
"Stop it evan. I'll come with you. I'll fix this. I'm not losing you. Stop this talk right now!" Richard wailed, his tears glistening through his face
"You can't fix it Richard. Not this time. I'm selfless enough to let you go. You have a lot to live for. My family needs a good advisor. Be that advisor for me, Richard. And find someone better for yourself. You have a life still. I want you to be happy. I want you here" Evan softly murmured
"There's no need for me being here without you. I'm not happy without you, Evan" Richard tried to beg, for one last time
"My nephew and my brother still need you. You're too good to die. Stay here and remember me and live a life. I love you too much to waste you away to death" Evan then began to sob as the pain seeped in. Richard grabbed him and held him close, sobbing himself. Richard and Evan held each other tightly, before Richard gave a deep kiss.
"For you, Evan. I stayed for you and I'll continue to stay for you" Richard murmured
"I love you Richard. I'm glad you're not the guy I'm used to. I love you so much, Richard. Tell Loki he will be a great king" Evan hissed again and Richard held him close.
"I'm begging you Evan. Don't leave me" Richard weeped "I lost her but I can't lose you"
"She's telling me that it's okay Richard. That you're too good to be left alone. You won't lose me. I'm here" Evan's hand was on Richard's chest. He then patted the bed "Just not here" Evan then held him close and said "You are my best guy, Richard" And with that, Evan's head lifelessly went on Richard's shoulder
"Not you too. NOT YOU TOO!" Richard wailed to the heavens. Screaming at God, Odin, Allah and all the gods he was taught and knew. He held onto Evan's body, shaking it and screaming at it. Then he put it down before banging the floor, screaming, cursing, wailing. Richard shouted "WHY?! WHY HIM?! WHY NOT ME?!"
He then sobbed to the floor, crawling to Evan's body again. He sobbed, giving Evan tons of kisses even if he couldn't feel them. He then felt a touch and flinched. He turned and it was Loki. The god was just as heartbroken it seemed, for tears were in his eyes. "Who killed him, Loki?" Richard said, strangely cold. Loki's eyes widened. "TELL ME YOU FUCKING BASTARD!" Richard screamed
"Soma" Loki's tone was hard but vunerable
"Kill her, Loki. I want her dead. I want her dead like he is. I don't care how you do it. If you don't I will" Richard hissed
"Evan would not want you to be so cruel, Richard. Think of him" Loki said gently
"I am! I am thinking of him! Every blasted fool besides you and this army treated him like shit! I should kill her!" Richard snapped
"And what will that do?! Other than add more bodies to this?! I swore to evan to be merciful and it goes for you too" Loki held him close, hugging Richard tightly "I am sorry, Richard. Evan must be remembered for what he was. A kind soul. Far kinder than anyone. You know this"
Richard wailed, Loki holding him as the two were forced to drop to the ground. Richard moaned as Loki held him "It should've been me. It should've been me" Richard weeped

As promised some fluff between Richard and Evan. To wash away the sadness of that last fanfic XXXX
Bright Stars
Immortal. Richard was now immortal. After some private checks from Loki himself, checking him, John and Johnny to see for any side effects Richard was left to his own devices. To say he was unsure how to feel would be true. He did know it was going to be worth it and Evan and he would have nothing stopping them now. Together. Forever. Richard couldn't help but smile at that. Forever. That sounded nice
"Richard!" Evan ran over and the other saw the man practically pounce on him. Richard couldn't help but laugh as the two collided on the floor. Evan kissed him all over before blushing "Whoops. It's just.. I just realized... That.. you know"
"Immortal? Yep. I'm here to stay, as I should be" Richard kissed Evan on the lips then, smiling a bit
"To stay" Evan repeated, a soft smile on his face. He got up and pulled Richard along "It's getting late. I couldn't wait til we went to our room for you. I just had to find you"
"Hey it's okay. I was wondering where you were anyway" Richard then chuckled "If it wasn't late, we could prank Doom"
"I wish yeah" Evan laughed
Richard then saw the sky and smiled at the stars. He wordlessly pulled Evan, despite the confusion Evan didn't question and followed suit. They eventually went to a small garden and both sat on this marble bench. Richard finally looked down to Evan who was now looking up at the stars also. When evan looked down, Richard's heart pounded again at evan's eyes sparkling.
"Take a picture it lasts longer" Evan teased
Richard laughed, very pleased with the fact Evan was comfortable enough to at least be teasing around more with him. Richard then got serious, a soft smile on his face. Richard couldn't help but reply "You're just... you're beautiful"
Evan was immediately taken aback before replying "What makes you say that?"
"The same thing that motivated me to be immortal" Richard beamed
At that Evan smiled, pulling Richard gently close to him and kissed him. The two kissed for a while, the stars shining. Eventually they pulled back and Richard gasped as a shooting star came by "Oh cool a shooting star! Make a wish!"
"I don't have to" Evan beamed
"Huh?" Richard replied, staring at him
"I already got my wish" Evan kissed Richard again and the two stared
"I don't need the stars. I have your eyes" Richard said at last, and the two kissed and enjoyed the night sky.

Just a one shot of Jack. Couldn't help but play into his feelings of being a spy and even though the reveal will play out very differently from how I write it I just kind of wanted to explore jack as a character. XXXXX
Not One Of Us
From day one he promised himself not to get attached. These people were not his people. He was not one of them. He had to remind himself of that every day. All these people, with their smiles, politeness and good-nature, they were not his people. They were his enemy. It was his job... no it was his pleasure to back-stab all these idiots. He didn't give two shits about any of them.
Well at least he thought he didn't. He promised himself that he wouldn't care about any of them. But then this stupidly adorable, cute blond boy had to plunge himself into his heart and fuck everything up. So correction: He didn't give two shits about any of them, except Jacob Liber.
That was what the blond boy called himself. When Jack met him, he didn't even think twice about what jacob would do to his thoughts, his plan, his mission. He had no idea jacob would make it so much more harder. So much more personal. Jacob probably had no idea about it either. He just happened. Jack couldn't get mad at someone who had no idea who he really was. If anything jack was to blame. For all of it. Yet Jack didn't know. He didn't know he would not only get to know jacob, but fall in love with him. He didn't know that he not only would love jacob, but begin to consider dropping the whole act and just come clean. Run away from his duty and abandon it all for this blond boy. Yet... Yet every day he had to remind himself of what would happen if he did that.
He'd be hunted down. Called a traitor. Then it would reveal everything to the rebellion and they'd hunt him down too. He would have no one. He would genuinely be alone. Normally that wouldn't be a problem except for two things. He wanted jacob and he wanted to live. So for days he would keep this big secret to himself. Hiding the true self. Or at least the whole true self. Knowing that jacob would not understand or accept the whole picture. So he allowed jacob to pretend to know the true him. It was easy to pretend, considering that jack would spill many, many true things about himself to make the illusion all the easier to fall for. He would kiss jacob with true words of love, hold jacob close at night telling true stories about his life, he would laugh and tell true jokes to jacob. The one thing though is that he never spoke the truth.
Jack wasn't lying about loving jacob. He wasn't lying about his past. But he was lying about his present, and most likely about his future. Jack did have a couple close calls where the rebellion caught him. Tony saw him talking to the computer late at night but thankfully jack made sure to delete everything so tony would not check on it. However, that didn't stop tony from being suspicious. Once tony was suspicious, so was coulson. Coulson nearly caught him were it not for Jacob defending him.
"You leave him alone! He told you everything! He escaped and came here to help us! You act like he's some kind of spy!"
Oh how right jacob was. Poor thing had no idea. Jack wanted to cry that day. Tell jacob that he caught him red handed. But jack kept silent, even smirking to show how stupid tony and coulson and everyone was. But they weren't stupid. Far from it. Jack knew his curtain call was bound to come one way or another. He was on pins and needles. But he distracted himself with magic tricks for the more naive members and nights with jacob, being one with jacob in many ways jack had never been one with someone before. Those nights were the best of his life. Activities from making love to making small talk with jacob were everything jack could ever possibly want. It was perfect, except jack knew he was just being himself without being himself. He loved jacob, he told jacob the truth about his person but he never, ever told jacob about where his loyalties lie. Where his people really were.
He knew jacob would learn it though. He just simply did his best to avoid it for so long. Then one night, loki called him unexpectedly. Demanding answers that jack could not... no would not tell.
"Where's the location Morrigan? You've been avoiding me I know this" Loki impatiently said
"Listen your majesty, they won't tell me. They don't tell anyone. Only the leaders know and they all are onto me" Jack replied, it was not entirely a lie. Like everything else. Jack was both honest and dishonest. Even with his own people.
"Jack. You have been with these people for weeks now. It has been at least three months. You know I'm starting to believe you think you are one of them" Loki's words hurt. Because a part of him did want to be one of them, if only to have jacob.
"Nah man. I ain't shit. These people aren't mine and I ain't theirs. Just give me a couple days" Jack replied and as he said this, he heard footsteps. Jack turned to the hallway and panicked "Loki I gotta go. Don't worry about a thing. I'll take care of it. I promise I'll give you the location soon"
"No. You will tell me the location now Jack" Loki replied, unaware of the noises Jack had heard. Jack panicked, he saw a shadow and footsteps come closer.
"I don't know the fucking location. I can't get it with you riding my ass. You've been on my ass ever since I got here. I'll get the info you need. Just give me a couple days I gotta go Loki! Seriously!" Jack then slammed the laptop closed but it was too late. He turned as the lights went on and there jacob was, arms crossed, eyes filled with a anger jack was very familiar with. Betrayal.
"Hey babe. What are you doing up?" Jack knew he was caught, but he made his effort to act like he didn't know anything. Play the fool.
Jacob's eyes only got wider, burning with a all-too familar feeling of anger "Don't call me babe. You fucking liar"
Jack frowned, desperate he replied "Hey jacob, what're you talking ab---" Suddenly Jacob slapped him. Hard. Jack spat out a little bit of blood. For a stripper, he surely had a pretty good hit. Jack was a bit unaware of his place, so out of pain he replied "What the actual fuck?!"
"You lied to me. You lied to all of us. You were talking to Loki" Jacob shoved him away, Jack knew the game was over. Jacob won the game and jack was the loser. Oh how terrible was he to believe he could keep playing this game. Jacob shoved him again "How long have you been talking to him?"
"Jacob... Jacob let me explain" Jack panicked, he was losing the only thing that mattered to him. All because he couldn't keep it down at night.
"Explain what? That you lied to me all this time? I thought you were against loki" Jacob slapped him again, anger filled and jack despite his pain didn't really mind it. Jacob had every right to feel how he felt. Jack felt like he deserved this. Served him right for getting attached. For believing he was one of them. Jacob shouted at him "From the very beginning you lied. I believed it! I trusted you! I loved you!"
Loved. Past tense. Oh god. If he wasn't alone before he sure as hell was now. Jacob's hits started to feel less painful as that phrase hit him like a freight train. Jack held his strength, holding jacob's hands away "Jacob please. I didn't mean for this to happen"
"What to happen? What to happen? You telling me that I was your favorite person in the world? The times we exchanged stories about how things used to be? You fucking me?" Jacob's eyes were filled with hurt, tears even. Jack felt like such an asshole, as he should, he did play jacob but the thing was, jack also played himself. Jacob started to weep "I can't believe it. I can't believe I actually fell for it. I thought you loved me"
"I do love you!" Jack pleaded
"How do I know that to be true? When you lied about this? How am I supposed to believe that?" Jacob demanded
"All those things I said to you were not and never were lies. Everything I told you was the truth. Everyone else I lied to. But I didn't lie to you. At least not about me. The only thing I wasn't honest about with you was the fact I was a spy. That's it. Everything else was true" Jack insisted. He hoped, no prayed that jacob would have a glimmer of hope or at least a glimmer of belief left.
Jacob shook his head "No. I can't believe it. I don't know what to believe. But I do know this. You're gonna be taken down right now" Jacob then turned to the alarm, that would send everyone in.
"Jacob. Don't. Please" Jack replied "You don't understand"
"No. You don't understand. I am going to protect myself" Jacob turned to the alarm. Jack didn't want to get caught. A part of him was in panic mode. Everything was all happening at once. He lost jacob at this point. There was no point being here. Yet he wanted to get jacob back.
Out of panic, and desperation, he aimed for the alarm to destroy it. However it seemed someone just had to interrupt things yet again. It was that little shit head calvin. Calvin was somewhat awake and noticed jack, rightfully assuming jack was aiming for jacob Calvin replied "Jacob! Behind you!"
Jack, spooked by calvin, shot too quickly and it got jacob right in the abdomen. No. NO! That's not what he wanted! This was not what he wanted! This wasn't what he planned! This wasn't how it was supposed to go! Jack replied "Jacob! Shit! No! No! What have I done!? Fuck, FUCK! What have I done?! Jacob!" He went over to check jacob over but calvin pushed him away and rang the alarm. All was red and fast at that point.
In the seconds the alarm came off, too many people, people that he didn't belong to, aimed their weapons right at him. Tony, Coulson, Mike, Fandral, Bruce, Sif, all of them. They all aimed. Tony even was heard suggesting to put him underground. Oh these people were either going to interrogate him so he would be killed by loki, or he would be killed here. Jack, out of panic blasted energy beams to distract them and ran.
He ran. Ran. Ran. For the whole night he ran. He used a spell to communicate to johnny, who was way kinder than his husband to be. Johnny even could tell his heartache. How he knew, jack wasn't certain but when he arrived at the kingdom, loki and johnny both greeted him with food and a room that was his. Jack though was in so much panic. Jacob. Jacob. He's gone. He's dead. I killed him. I killed him.
Served jack right for getting attached. Everything jack touched was either gone or abandoned. Jack cried louder and longer than he ever did. Maybe ever since his parents death. He cried to sleep. The next morning loki was nicer than he was before and even thanked him for his efforts. He didn't want to be thanked. He wanted to die. Jacob being dead just made jack not care anymore. For a couple days he believed jacob was dead, but then loki was charging to battle and jack was forced to come.
In this battle, Jacob was fighting trigger and jack was so beside himself with joy he almost interrupted it just to see him. But it seemed life had other plans. Tony came and shot at him. Tony growled at him "Nice to see you again you little shit. Here. Have a present from me" Tony aimed right at him and jack was thinking of ways to stop him then jacob pushed him away.
Jack widened his eyes, joyous but confused. Jacob replied "Let him go tony"
"Jacob, this fucker's a traitor!" Tony then sneered at him "He's not one of us"
"No. But... But he's worth it tony. Just let him go. Please" Jacob then turned to jack with a angry glare and replied "Go jack. Don't come back. Ever"
Jack wanted to say so many things. That he was sorry. That he would make it up to jacob. That he loved him. But jack felt like a failure. No, actually, he felt like a fool. A real actual fool. Jack for once had no one liner, no joke, no witty comment, not even a word to say. Jack was speechless. Yet he got up, turned on his heel and ran like the coward he was. He was now playing a new game, a new game to lick his wounds and get jacob back to him. He may have not been one of the rebellion but he sure as hell was Jacob's. And he was going to get jacob back. And make jacob one of his people.

Couldn't resist writing about some couples so I'm gonna. Starting with a couple stories of Coulson and Splinter. This is a little bit after Coulson's discovery, a idea of how this could go. Regardless of how it goes, Splinter's gonna be there for Coulson. XXXX
Truth Hurts
"YOU LIED TO ME!"
Coulson's angry, enraged voice boomed throughout the world. Splinter was outside, meditating with Leonardo and Michelangelo. Splinter heard some desperate apologies and the sound of a loud crash. Splinter was worried as Coulson was heard shouting more and more. Leo and Mikey were stiff as boards which made Splinter force his own anxieties down. He patted the Turtles' backs, replying firmly "Stay here. I will see what is going on" Leo complied but Mikey had a nervous look, attempting to get up. Splinter pushed him down, replying calmly "Michelangelo, everything will be fine. Stay with your brother" Mikey obeyed, looking nervously as Splinter got up to leave.
Splinter, as he walked, bumped into Casey. Casey's eyes were terrified, pointing to the room before him "Sensei! I'm so glad I found you! Coulson is acting totally nutzoid!" Splinter nodded, using his hands to pull Casey out of the way.
Splinter commented, patiently "Wait outside" Splinter went over to see some adults pulling Tony and Coulson back. A couple people were restraining Coulson while others were protecting Tony. Splinter looked around, widening his eyes as the argument continued. Tony and Coulson were yelling back and forth
"You made me into some sort of ROBOT?" "I didn't! Nick did!" "Oh that makes it so much better! You knew about this!" "I wanted to tell you, Coulson! But I didn't want to hurt you!" "You and Natasha could've told me sooner! You should've! I don't even know what I am anymore!"
Natasha went in the middle, turning to Coulson with a patient expression "Coulson, please, calm down" Coulson charged again, restrained tightly by Patrick and Jack Quinn "Don't you tell me to calm down, you're just as guilty! Did everyone else know?" Calvin raised his hand "I sure as hell didn't" Soma shushed him "Calvin, shush"
Splinter was dumbfounded and a bit more confused. He had helped Coulson try to discover why he had been getting haunting flashbacks. He had helped Coulson try to discover what mysteries had been planted in his head. Yet it seemed the answer brought forth only more suffering. Splinter noticed how Bruce was talking to Tony. Coulson, despite himself, had more strength which forced Patrick and Jack to the ground. Coulson was definitely past the point of reason, his anger was far too great. Splinter knew this because of his son Raphael and of his own personal anger in the past. Coulson sneered, hatefully glaring at Natasha especially "Bruce didn't know and Tony has a excuse. How can you explain yourself, Romanov?"
Natasha stiffened, evident guilt in her eyes but her tone was cold "Coulson, stand down" Coulson aimed his fist "Answer me" Natasha sighed, softening her gaze a bit "I felt like it was too late to tell you"
Coulson didn't enjoy that answer. Splinter knew, from how stiff Coulson's body was, that the man was going to strike. Splinter knew he had to step in. He didn't entirely understand exactly what transpired. But it was clear Coulson learned a truth that affected his life forever. Splinter could relate to that pain better than anyone else. He lost so many things and was forced to changes he never asked for. Coulson was clearly going through the same pain. Splinter knew though that if he didn't step in, someone was going to get hurt. As the man charged, Splinter instantly stepped in, grabbing Coulson. Splinter replied patiently but firmly "Coulson, do not attack, you know this is not the answer"
Coulson wrestled, anger in his eyes "Let me go" Splinter shook his head "I know you, Coulson. You do not want to do this" Coulson, emotional, snapped "How can you possibly know me when I don't even know myself?" Splinter pushed Coulson back, replying firmly "Because people are not defined by what they look like. Only by how they act"
This small piece of advice seemed to work at last. Coulson's anger was clearly there but he wasn't completely blind-sided. Coulson shoved Splinter back, surrendering but still furious. Coulson gave a nasty expression to Natasha and Tony "You're on your own. I quit" Coulson left outside much to the horror of Splinter and everyone else. Jack Morrigan and Jacob walked over only for Jack to pull Jacob back to their room. Patrick, Jack Quinn, Soma, Saga, Calvin, Peter, Mary Jane, Ben, Destiny and Warren all stared in horror.
Bruce panicked, pulling the door "Coulson! Come back!" Mike raced to the door too "You're going to get killed!" Tony sighed, rubbing his eyes "Shit. We need to get him" Splinter crossed his arms, turning to Tony and Natasha "I will bring him back" Natasha pointed to Splinter firmly "You're still recovering from the last battle" Splinter glared at her "Coulson is a crucial member of our team. It is in both the team's best interest and my personal desire to bring him back" Tony grabbed a mask "Put this on. They're planning to scour tonight" Bruce replied worriedly "Splinter, be careful!"
Splinter nodded to Bruce before taking the mask and grabbing his jade cane. He turned to Warren, replying "Please, let Michelangelo, Leonardo and Casey know that I went out to find Coulson. Make sure they do not follow me" Splinter put the mask on, leaving without another word. He didn't know why Coulson was so angry but he did know that he was not going to abandon Coulson. He was going to make sure his friend was safe, even if it meant having Coulson take out his anger at him. Splinter always had a protective streak in him, especially for his loved ones, yet Coulson was special to him. He was just as special as Tang Shen was to him. Thoughts of worry, concern and confusion went through his mind. He and Coulson had grown immensely strong as time went by. The two shared quite literally everything together. So this felt like a horrible wrench into their routine. Coulson's mystery had bugged him for days and all Splinter suggested was to allow his curiosity to be satisfied. If he knew this would happen, Splinter might've been more cautious.
Splinter scoured the city, hiding within the shadows with ease. Despite his injuries from his battle with Victor, he was recovering amazingly well. Not just from Warren's blood but it seemed Splinter just had a natural ability to heal better than most. Even if he had a limp, Splinter used techniques to make it seem like it wasn't there when he truly needed to hurry. He DID need to hurry tonight, squadrons of soldiers were in the landscape. Splinter closed his eyes. He sort of wished he had a good sense of smell like his alternate counterpart did. His nose could only smell so much and was a regular ability. His eyes, ears and the rest of him however were way better. It was because of his ears that he heard Coulson panting nearby. He shadowed over Coulson, racing after him without trying to be spotted. Knowing Coulson's rage, seeing Splinter would only motivate Coulson to run faster, to avoid the pain.
Coulson finally stopped at a tunnel nearby the lake. Splinter hid in the rocks, looking for intruders or attackers. Thankfully none came, the army was too distracted to get supplies and rebuild into a empire. Coulson was seen staring at his reflection, forcing his tie to come off. Coulson rubbed his head, looking at his hands in slight disgust. Coulson was heard muttering "Did I do something shitty in the past? What did I do to deserve this?"
Splinter's eyes widened in shock before transitioning to a heartbroken expression. Coulson clearly was going through a personal crisis. It was worse than Splinter thought. Thoughts of empathy and sadness went through him. Splinter had asked himself this very question, a question that came back to haunt him now. What terrible deed did I do in a past life that such a curse has befallen me? Coulson was going through what he did. Yet Splinter refused to let him suffer alone. Coulson had not abandoned him, Splinter refused to abandon Coulson. Splinter slowly approached the man, walking carefully to avoid Coulson running away. Splinter noticed how Coulson's eyes filled with confused, horrified tears. Splinter wished to help, no matter what the context. Splinter sat beside Coulson and the rodent knew the man was aware of his presence. Coulson didn't admonish him which made Splinter relieved. He was allowed to stay. Now it was only a matter of who would speak first.
Splinter replied softly, taking off his mask "I have asked myself a similar question" Coulson looked to Splinter before turning away "Splinter, please, just leave me alone" Splinter's ears lowered, sadness went through him as Splinter sat "No. I cannot. I will not" Coulson rubbed his face, sighing "Why bother staying? Everything about me is a lie! I'm not who I said I was!" Splinter retorted patiently "Yes you are. You are the one who decides who you are. Not anyone else" Coulson sneered a bit, bitter "But I don't even know who I really am anymore! I'm not normal!" Splinter pointed to himself, replying firmly "And you think I am?"
Coulson's eyes widened as Splinter brought up this point. Coulson looked to Splinter softly, pain evident in his expressions. Coulson looked down, explaining "You don't understand, Splinter. This is way more than I thought it would be" Coulson looked to Splinter and the rodent only stared back with a patient, curious expression. Coulson, despite the desire to avoid, couldn't avoid Splinter. Especially when the rodent looked so encouraging and kind. Coulson continued "I-I'm not a human. I'm not REALLY Phil Coulson. I am a robotic project known as Vision" Splinter nodded, pondering with a hint of awe in his eyes. Coulson continued "Originally Vision was supposed to have his own identity. They decided, to keep him loyal, to make him have Phil's memories and personality and things like that" Splinter hummed, nodding more and more. Coulson's eyes filled with hurt tears "The ballet date, the memories of Ibiza, it was all a trick to prevent me from discovering what happened" Coulson turned to Splinter "Those flashbacks were glitches"
Splinter shrugged at this "Perhaps. Or it could have been fate showing that you were ready to learn a part of who you are" Coulson looked down, shaking his head "That isn't who I am" Splinter replied calmly "You see. You get to decide what your story is. No one else, not even me, is allowed" Coulson looked back to Splinter, giving a confused look "You sometimes confuse me"
Splinter resisted the urge to chuckle, aware of Coulson's mood. He pointed to the water as he explained "Water does not always stay in one area. It flows, it moves from place to place. It is similar to an identity" Splinter used his fingers to make the water splash a bit "When outside forces try to break or change the way water is, it can make the water overflow" The water returned to it's calm nature which made Splinter state "But these outside forces cannot change the water's core and because of that, the water can just keep flowing" Coulson was listening more and more, his gaze comforted as he understood what Splinter was saying. Splinter hoped his words were helping. He hoped Coulson could understand his life wasn't hopeless or over, it just had a new chapter. Splinter deliberately scooched closer to Coulson, replying gently "You are like water, Coulson. This may overwhelm you but you are still Phil Coulson. Robot or otherwise"
Coulson softened his gaze to Splinter "You still believe in me?" Splinter nodded insistently "You have survived many things. You will survive this change" Coulson looked to his hand "What am I going to do? I have abilities I never even tapped into" Splinter patiently replied "You will learn in time. Just like you learned this discovery" Coulson shook in terror "I-I don't know if I can... Not alone"
Splinter softened his gaze, instantly putting his hand on Phil's wrist. He smiled gently as Coulson looked scared. Splinter playfully but sweetly retorted "Who said you were alone?" Splinter leaned his body against Phil's, a loyal assurance. Splinter replied "I told you, Coulson. Regardless of the outcome of this mystery, I would support you. I never break my word" Splinter turned to Coulson, giving a gentle look "I am not going to let you suffer the way I did"
Coulson gave a guilty expression "I'm sorry" Splinter was confused "Why are you sorry?" Coulson looked away "I was wrong to say you don't understand. You understand this better than anyone" Splinter waved it off "It is not a matter of right and wrong" Coulson leaned into Splinter "Maybe not, but I should realize I'm not the only one who had people tell me who I was"
Splinter stiffened, recalling how Shredder dropped the biggest bomb during their first struggle after 15 years. He recalled how he felt when Victor, Shredder, Tigerclaw and even Karai had made assumptions about him. How they tried to decide who he was. How some people had a false impression of him. Splinter stuck to his guns but it didn't make it any less humiliating. Especially when Shredder told him that Karai would spend her life cursing his name and that she was no longer Miwa. Splinter sighed, admitting "You are not. But that only means you are not as alone as you believe to be"
Coulson smiled softly "I'm not alone. And neither are you. You have me" Splinter's heart fluttered a bit as he admitted "And you will always have me, Phil" Coulson smiled more "Weird. Normally I like being called Coulson but... you make Phil sound just right" Splinter leaned into him more "Then I shall call you that from now on" Coulson replied gently "I'd like that"
Splinter nodded, about to say more when Coulson hugged him. The rodent was stiff at first as he never liked to assume permission for physical touch. He wasn't always the great with physicality, only doing it for those he cared for. Yet Coulson hugging him felt... right. Better than right. It felt like home. Splinter pulled Coulson in, smiling to himself as he felt the warm embrace of Coulson. He felt Coulson's body shake which only made Splinter hug him tighter. He heard Coulson's breathing start to sound heavy which only made Splinter shush him assuringly. Splinter murmured something that he knew was needed to be said "It will be alright. You are going to be alright"
Coulson shook more, sniffing "Why didn't they just tell me?" Splinter sighed, shaking his head "Fear makes you do foolish things" Coulson held his face into Splinter's neck "How can I go back to people who I can't trust?" Splinter sighed again, replying gently "You will not face them alone. I will be there" Coulson hid his face even deeper into Splinter's neck, murmuring "D-Do you promise?" Splinter made Coulson look right into his eyes, firmly staring "Look at me. Do you see any deception?"
Coulson looked deeply into Splinter's auburn colored eyes. Coulson's heart raced with relief and a strange sense of peace. He felt immense intimacy from this and he didn't mind it. Splinter was the only man, or rather one of the only people in general, that Coulson could unquestionably rely on. Coulson normally was the one people relied on, it was nice to have someone be there for him as opposed to require him. Coulson felt unable to not smile as he replied "No. I don't"
Splinter softened his firm gaze, replying "Good" Splinter put his hands away from Coulson's face, replying calmly "Come. We must go. It is not safe here" Splinter got up, offering his hand to Coulson who took it. Splinter went to put his hand away to go but felt Phil squeeze it. Splinter felt some shock, not expecting Coulson to do this. Before this point, there was a unspoken agreement to go with their own pace when it came to familiar touches. Phil was basically saying he didn't mind this anymore and Splinter, to be quite honest, was the same. In the past, Splinter had felt like he wouldn't be so close to another adult in his life. Since his wife passed, Splinter felt like he was destined to be alone. Phil had officially changed that. Just as he was helping Phil change his outlook and realize that the rodent would not leave him.
Splinter smiled, taking Phil's hand as they returned. Coulson was quiet but way less angry and frightened. He seemed to have hope. He would not change overnight. He would still have doubts. But it seemed Coulson understood that Splinter was not going to leave him cut and dry. Splinter was his confidante. Splinter was his partner in crime. Splinter was his support. As they entered the home, Coulson sighed, rubbing his eyes "I know I should be here" Coulson sneered a little "I just want to avoid Natasha and Tony for a bit. Natasha especially"
Splinter replied calmly "I understand. You must go at your own pace. But you can do so cordially" Coulson smirked a bit "You really are a political guy" Splinter shrugged "My father made me inherit the role as second in command ever since I was thirteen. You learn to handle politics"
This made the two laugh as Splinter opened the door. Instantly Casey raced out "Coulson!" Casey pulled the man in. The teen had developed a strong bond with the agent. Splinter smiled as Casey hugged him next "Oh thank god that Loki dude didn't get you" Casey turned to Leo and Mikey who smiled in relief at the sight of them. Casey replied softly "We got worried. I wanted to go out but Leo said it was a bad idea"
Splinter nodded to Leo before asking "Where is Mr. Stark and Ms. Romanov?" Leo replied quickly "Tony and Natasha are waiting for Coulson. The rest of the group is training outside" Coulson scoffed "Figures. She can't face the music" Mikey put his finger up "Actually, Natasha's considering to step down from third in command. She's thinking about giving it to Bruce" Coulson hummed before sighing "As much as I'm pissed at her, we need her insight" Mikey nodded "That's what Mike said. Mike's in there with Bruce to convince her not to. Tony, well, you know how he feels about her" Splinter turned to Coulson "Phil, would you like me to accompany you?" Coulson took a deep breath "No. Sometimes you need to have private matters. But I'll be back" Casey softened his gaze "Mr. Coulson, are you, like, gonna be cool?" Coulson replied honestly "Not today. But someday. Listen, stay here with Splinter, we need to talk" Casey got nervous "Are you going to leave for real?" Coulson put his hand on Casey's shoulder "Kid, I can't. Not without you" Mikey did a aw noise "You love us. Sensei, especially"
This made Coulson chuckle but from the way Coulson's face appeared, it spoke volumes to Splinter. Phil didn't deny it. Phil wasn't appalled. If anything, the man just winked to Splinter before replying "I'll see you later" Splinter watched him go, resisting the urge to follow as he saw Phil's gaze got more and more somber. Splinter knew he had to do that part alone but Splinter wanted to be there for it all. Phil though said they would talk again and Splinter knew they would keep talking. Whatever journey Coulson would take, Splinter would be there. In every step of the way. Even though the truth hurt, it could be healed with support.

Here is another Coulson/Splinter story. Couldn't resist XXXXX
Old Wounds
Coulson would not let Shredder in. Not after Splinter, Leo, Mikey and Casey's stories. But Shredder had intel. Shredder was willing to put differences aside for exchange of returning home. He even kept his word to avoid Splinter and his allies and co-exist peacefully. Coulson did not want Shredder in. But he wasn't the only leader. Tony, Natasha and Steve were leaders too. The three of them had plenty of good reasons to let him agree.
"Like it or not, Coulson we need him" "I hate the guy, the guy's clearly a douche, but we have no choice" "He knows where we can get to Asgard. We can get some of our people back" "Donatello and Karai are on Asgard. Shredder might be the only chance those two can escape"
Coulson rubbed his eyes. Leo, Mikey, Splinter and Casey were also in the room. As this matter did apply to them too. Shredder was outside, guarded by Ben and Volstagg. Shredder's arrival was awkward to say the least. Thanks to Casey impulsively striking the man, this resulted in a fight that didn't need to happen. Leo and Mikey stood up for Casey's honor, Shredder lost his temper and tried to kill Casey and the Turtles which resulted in Splinter getting involved. Shredder's words were at first hard to accept. But Shredder proved that his lies weren't lies at all. Coulson had to put the vote to a majority. As Mike, Ororo and Bruce did not consent to allow him to stay. Tony, Steve and Natasha consented. Coulson pondered more and more. He did NOT want to break Splinter's trust. He did not want to endanger his adopted sons. He did not want Shredder here. He was about to say no when Splinter's hand touched his.
Coulson looked to see the rodent's ears pent back, almost all the way to the back of his head. His eyes were filled with anger and pain. Yet there was a sense of noble determination within the anger. Splinter took three deep breaths, turned to the three boys beside him then squeezed Coulson's hand. Splinter looked firmly and submissively as he spoke "Phil. They are correct. Donatello's life is in jeopardy. We need him" Leo sighed submissively, Mikey groaned while Casey stiffened. Splinter shook his head, sneering a bit "As much as it pains me to say it, this is as it must be" Splinter replied calmly "Do whatever you feel is right, Phil"
Coulson rubbed his eyes, sighing "That's the thing. I don't know" Casey replied firmly "Then say no! Kick this jerk out!" Leo firmly retorted "Casey, I can't stand Shredder either but Donny's in trouble. So is Karai" Mikey twiddled his fingers "We don't really have any other options" Casey replied firmly "What are you talking about?! Of course there is! Are we forgetting all he's done?!" Splinter patiently retorted "Casey. Believe me. I understand your anger better than anyone. But we must put our differences aside for the benefit of this war" Casey turned to Coulson "Pop. Tell them they're crazy!" Tony replied patiently "Kid, trust me, he's going to be monitored and if he does any tricks, his ass is getting booted" Natasha explained "We do need to take advantage of this. If we take this chance, we could actually break Loki's defenses. Get somewhere finally"
Coulson sighed, turning to Casey "Casey, listen, we will take precautions. But we need to play smart" Casey softened his gaze, fear and anger in his eyes. Coulson pulled Casey's hands, assuring "Remember what I told you? That sometimes you gotta do what's best for everyone, even if it hurts?" Casey nodded, a sad but accepting look on his face. Coulson looked to Bruce, Ororo and Mike who looked solemnly "We're right to not want him around. The history is there. But it's just that. History. We need to not focus on that when the future is at stake" Coulson looked apologetically to Splinter who simply nodded encouragingly. Coulson sighed, replying calmly "We'll let him in" Coulson scoffed "Bet his sorry ass is happy"
Tony got up "I'll bring him in" Splinter rose "No. I shall" Mikey worriedly replied "Sensei, don't" Splinter replied solemnly "It is tradition for the patriarch of the household to offer an alliance. It is a sign of peace. It must be done" Mikey replied indignantly "Can't you just give him flowers instead? You don't have to" Leo rose, retorting "Master, wouldn't it be better I do it, since I'm relatively the eldest in the family?" Splinter shook his head "No, my son, let me. It will show him that our family spirit is alive. Plus it will be a good example for the team" Coulson took Splinter's hand "Splinter, listen, I'm appreciative but we don't need to give the guy more than we need to"
Splinter sighed, gently putting Coulson's hand away "I am not a soft man. I never hide away from my duties, that is not who I am" Splinter took a breath, turning to Tony and Natasha "I will be quick" Splinter walked slowly but with evident purpose. Leo stiffened at the sight, sighing sadly. Mikey softened his gaze while Casey huffed, looking worriedly to Splinter. Coulson watched the rat's posture stiffen at the sight of his enemy. The door closed and some back and forth was done, with Splinter's deep, authoritative voice forcing out a peaceful, cordial tone. Splinter opened the door, Shredder walked in with relative ease. Splinter sat quickly down, his body forward as if protective of the two turtles and Casey. Mikey and Leo weren't his official sons but they were in spirit. Splinter from the alternate universe was their father but, in his own way, so was this Splinter. Coulson knew that his children being in danger was never fun. They did this for purely pragmatic reasons. Coulson knew this decision hurt Splinter immensely but it was a pain he was willing to do. For the sake of Donny and Karai.
Splinter replied calmly "You are officially part of this team, as requested, Saki" Shredder clicked his fingers "Excellent" Leo sneered "Don't forget that you need to help us" Shredder chuckled, cocky "Of course. I am a man of my word" Mikey scoffed "Sure you are" Tony pointed a firm finger "We see you act out of line, you bet you're paying the price" Shredder chuckled darkly "Why would I bite the hand that feeds me?" Casey scoffed "You shredders are all the same. Bunch of jackasses" Natasha shushed Casey before replying calmly "Tell us what you know"
Shredder, despite himself, did actually did as requested. Shredder showed a few directions as well as all his details. After a long, painful discussion, Tony replied "Okay, we'll prepare a plan tomorrow. Shredder, we'll talk to you in the morning"
Shredder pointed mockingly to Splinter "Is the rat included?" Tony shook his head "Not unless you need him" Shredder chuckled mockingly "On the contrary, he needs me. And he knows it"
This made Splinter's posture stiffen and Coulson could see that his gaze became fiery. Leo offered his hand to hold the rodent's arm while Mikey and Casey made annoyed faces. Coulson, feeling guilty and disgusted, replied smugly "Maybe that metal suit is squeezed too tightly but you actually forget that you need us too. The only reason you're here is because we got a place to stay. You're a fugitive" Coulson turned to Natasha who gave a cautious look. Natasha eventually nodded which made Coulson continue "I'd advice you be gentle with the cocky attitude. We could always just sell you out"
Casey beamed, excited "Can we?!" Mikey rubbed his hands, chuckling "We COULD make fifty bucks off of you" Shredder scoffed, turning to Natasha "Then I guess your victory will escape your grasp" Natasha replied firmly "We didn't say we would. We're just saying we can. So cut the attitude" Shredder bowed his head in submission "I suppose you're right. After all, it would be a shame that your pride made us lose that innocent daughter of yours" Splinter's gaze got cold, snapping "The only one here with a flawed amount of pride is you" Shredder chuckled again "Oh really? I am not the one who can't control his kin" Splinter crossed his arms, sneering "Is there a point to this? Is there something you wish to tell me?" Shredder replied firmly "That just because we are in a war, does not change the fact that we are enemies" Splinter sneered, replying "I am fully aware, Saki. Therefore, I would demand that you stay away from me and my kin" Shredder shrugged "Fine. Only if you make sure your brood stays away from me" Mikey put his hands up, leaving "Don't have to tell me twice" Leo stood up, taking Casey's shoulders "Come on Casey. We said our piece" Casey pointed to his eyes then back at Shredder "Got my eyes on you, tin-face"
The two turtles plus Casey got up. Coulson scoffed "Well, we've said our piece I think" Tony, Steve, Natasha, Ororo, Mike, Bruce and Splinter all nodded. Coulson turned to Shredder "There's a place for you in the back. It's a bit cramped but it does the trick" Coulson noticed Shredder's gauntlet and said firmly "There are cameras here. We have a security system. So if you have a sudden midnight craving of murder, I'd advice against it"
Shredder scoffed, pointing to Coulson "You are charming. Too bad you are so blatantly incompetent" Shredder walked off without a word, Coulson noticed how Splinter's gaze followed the man out. The rodent's gaze got more and more displeased before he took a deep breath again, turning to Coulson with a nod. Splinter said a quick farewell before walking out himself, evidently rushing to leave. Coulson knew that the walls Splinter kept would crumble shortly. It was only a matter of time.
Coulson turned to the others "Meeting's adjourned. I'm gonna check on Splinter" The other leaders walked off with Bruce muttering about how much of a ass Shredder was. Coulson noticed that Casey was having a talk with Mikey and Leo, so they seemed pretty alright. Coulson's interest and main focus right now was Splinter. The man searched and found the rodent isolated by a tree. He was sitting on his knees, trying desperately to meditate. His hands were joined together, the rodent was heard doing breathing exercises. He was trying to stay calm. To keep the peace. To prevent letting his emotions cloud the judgement of his team. Coulson understood that Splinter was just trying to help. But Coulson also knew that Splinter was just a man like he was. He wasn't avoiding the pain perse but he was forcing himself to move on quickly. Coulson gently walked by which caused the breathing noises to stop, Coulson knew Splinter was aware he was here. The two had this natural awareness for each other. Splinter's head lowered, a stiff expression on his face as he kept his eyes closed.
Coulson replied calmly "I am sorry this happened, Splinter" Splinter shook his head "This is not your doing. This is fate" Coulson sat close, leaning his head on his hand "Well, it still sucks. If he didn't have that info, we wouldn't let him be here" Splinter kept his eyes closed "Regardless of which universe he is from, he is the Shredder and he attacked my sons, it fills me with rage" Coulson replied calmly "As it should. They're family to you" Splinter opened his eyes, a hint of anger within "An enemy to them is a enemy to me. Regardless of where or who they are" Coulson nodded "I agree. We're keeping an eye on him" Splinter approvingly nodded "I know you are. It is not you I do not trust" Coulson held onto Splinter's arm "I hope you know I'm on YOUR side in the end" Splinter replied calmly "Phil, you are a leader, you must do what is best for the team. You cannot favor me. That sets a bad example" Coulson replied gently "I'm not favoring you. I'm--I'm just--I'm just trying to prevent more damage to you"
Splinter looked at Coulson, sighed and held Phil's shoulder "It is appreciated. It is comforting. But there is nothing you can do. What is done is done" Splinter stiffened his posture, a sad look on his face "Mi--Karai needs to return home. As does Donatello" Splinter rubbed his head, replying calmly "This is a devil. However, it is a devil we know" Splinter looked to Coulson who had a sympathetic expression which motivated him to give a assuring look "It is very unpleasant but I suppose it could be far worse"
Coulson sighed, shrugging "I guess you're not wrong" Splinter sighed, sighing "I am just glad my universes sons are not here yet" Coulson nodded "I'm glad your shredder isn't here either"
Splinter stiffened a lot more at that. He held his chest, nodding as he had a pained, angry look. Coulson realized his words hit really close to home. Immediately, Coulson replied "Splinter, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to say that" Splinter waved it off but Coulson continued "Don't wave it off. You're allowed to be upset"
Splinter shook his head "I must keep a good example. I cannot surrender to my anger and pain. I must move forward" Coulson replied calmly "You can't move forward if you don't sit in it" Splinter's gaze got defensive as he pointed to the ground "Why do you think I am here?" Coulson looked to him knowingly "You're bottling up. You always tell everyone to be open yet don't allow yourself the same courtesy. Why's that?" Splinter replied firmly "I must do my part in this war. I have little time to self-reflect completely. Others must be attended to first" Coulson retorted "You can't help others stay above water when you're drowning"
Splinter felt himself unable to argue with Coulson's own sense of wisdom. The two had their own emotional and worldly intelligence. Both were wise and sophisticated in their own ways. Coulson though had this natural gentleness that always, always attracted Splinter to him. The rodent had long since accepted that he liked men. He was always open, even if he got rejected. His father was a relatively traditional man but his father finally accepted him before he died. All versions of his sons already knew and they were all accepting. So Splinter realized that, as time went by, his friendship with Coulson was blossoming into a stronger bond. One that allowed Coulson to call him out. The last person who was allowed was Shen. This scared Splinter yet his heart could only resist so much. He didn't want to avoid Coulson at all, if anything any time he was with the agent it pleased him. Yet he wanted to protect him. He wanted to not be so vulnerable as he felt the agent had enough on his plate.
Because of this desire to protect, Splinter tried to push away by snapping "I do not have to explain myself to you" Coulson softened his gaze, only getting closer "You don't have to. I'm just saying you don't have to be perfect" Splinter sneered, more defensive "It is the burden of a guardian and teacher. I must be" Coulson's gaze got bold but gentle "If you spend all your time being perfect for the kids, you won't actually spend time WITH the kids" Splinter's defensiveness got a bit worse, because Coulson was right "I suppose you have all the answers, when you just adopted Jones two weeks ago?" Coulson sighed, as if Splinter said a minor annoyance "You're not listening. I'm saying it's okay to be upset. It's okay to not know the answers to everything. It's okay to embrace emotions. It's okay to not be okay. I don't know all the answers and neither do you"
Splinter, despite himself, made a relatively loud noise of anguish. He immediately turned to Coulson, staring harshly and nastily at him, one of his hands aimed to slap. He was strongly tempted to yell at and hit Coulson. Yet the sweet, patient gaze of the man before him made it practically impossible. Splinter's angry, auburn eyes gazed upon Coulson's kind, hazel ones. The longer they stared, the less angry Splinter became. Splinter's ears bent back, his anger turned into pain and sadness. Splinter looked away, staring at the sunset before him. He felt tears, hot ones, stream his vision and he felt so overwhelmed he didn't notice how Coulson leaned his shoulder with Splinter's. Splinter softly repeated "I have responsibilities, Coulson"
Coulson chuckled "I do too. Doesn't change the fact that there are days that just suck" Splinter looked to Coulson, replying gently "I just... I wish to protect the family I have" Coulson nodded, understanding "Trust me. I know you do. You always, always try so hard. I'm saying you shouldn't have to" Splinter looked sadly then "Who else is going to do it?" Coulson made Splinter look at him "You forget you're part of a team. You forget you have other sources now" Splinter sighed, pointing to the home "They are limited as well" Coulson shrugged "Doesn't change the fact that they're here. Doesn't change the fact that I'm here"
Splinter's heart fluttered a bit, then again it always did when Coulson expressed affection, loyalty or kindness. Which was often. Splinter's sadness subsided and he wiped the tears he realized were on his face. Splinter sighed, apologetic "Forgive me, Phil. For losing my temper" He was quite stunned to see the agent pull him in, smiling in a extremely forgiving way. Splinter once again felt in complete peace and felt home. He sighed, allowing the agent to hold onto him. Splinter leaned his head against Coulson's, admitting "It is a complex issue. He is different yet his hatred is all-too familiar. He killed my alternate self and forced his son to watch. Splinter from that universe may not be me but I feel his pain" Splinter sighed, rubbing his eyes "I feel their pain as if it is mine. It does not help that he knows something of my daughter" Splinter sniffed, the walls crumbling "I lost her so many times. I do not want to lose her again"
Coulson softened his gaze "We're bringing her back. Whether we do it this time or the next. We're not giving up on her" Splinter held onto Phil, replying gently "Our time was stolen. All because Saki could not control his pride" Coulson hugged Splinter tightly "There is still plenty of time. She may not be a baby anymore but you're still her Dad. All children, even adult ones, need their father. You don't need to be a teacher all the time to be there for someone"
Splinter softened his gaze at Coulson, feeling more comforted the more Coulson spoke. Splinter, feeling vulnerable, put his arm around Phil. He held him tighter, hugging him. Phil smiled a bit, hugging back happily. The two stayed in sad but comforting silence. Splinter felt himself surrender at last and felt all the pain and anguish slowly release. He felt his tears stream and allowed Phil to rub his back up and down. Splinter's emotions were finally being accepted. Coulson murmured "Hey, hey, we'll figure it out. Okay?"
Splinter sighed, nodding in acceptance. The two watched the sunset and Splinter was then surprised as Coulson pressed his lips against his cheek. Splinter was stunned, turning immediately to Coulson. The agent blushed brightly, looking down "S-Sorry, I went too far, I probably should've--" Knowing that their bond was mutually strong enough to get to this point was too good to pass up. Knowing that Coulson had the same type of emotional, romantic connection he was developing was too good to pass up. Knowing Coulson kissed his cheek was too good to pass up. Splinter took Coulson's face, quickly and tenderly kissing his lips. Passion, vulnerability and intimate need commanded Splinter to just do this. He wanted this so bad. So he just selfishly took it. It had been far too long since he loved another like this.
Coulson was a bit surprised but surrendered just as quickly. The two kissed for a while before Splinter slowly, but surely, pulled back. Splinter sighed, looking at Coulson who was blushing but grinning eagerly. Splinter chuckled, unable to resist Coulson's adorable charm "Did you enjoy that?"
Coulson laughed, nodding "Yeah" Splinter felt confident and asked "Would you like me to do it again?" Coulson nodded much, much faster "I would"
Splinter gently took Coulson's face again and kissed him, tenderly still. Despite all the risks, Coulson and he had a bond that could not be defied by anything. Appearance, status, gender, responsibilities, the two connected in such a deep and intimate way. The two were accepting to their bond and fully embraced it. Despite their pain, they knew they could not ignore their bond. They could not ignore their feelings. If anything, they were too strong to ignore. Splinter, after a while, pulled back, leaning his forehead with Coulson's. He smiled as Coulson closed his eyes, embracing the after effect. Splinter asked playfully "So, where do we go from here?"
Coulson chuckled "Well I'd take you to dinner but... you know, apocalypse" Splinter chuckled "Well, we could always have dinner now" Coulson laughed, shrugging "Screw it yeah, let's have some leftovers"
Splinter got up as did Coulson and Coulson pulled the rodent in for a tight hug. Then the two walked together, not holding hands but they didn't need to. They didn't force any intimacy. If they wished to hold hands, they would've done it already. The two just had a connection that only they understood. They enjoyed it and felt safer with it. Old wounds like this could easily be healed thanks to the two working together and staying together. As they embarked on strengthening their romantic feelings, the two had a unspoken agreement that it would work for the better. Coulson used his tools to cook, smiling as Splinter watched with a gentle, fond smile of his own. Things would be fine, so long as they had each other.

Couldn't resist a Splinter and Karai fic. More Coulson/Splinter along with other couple stories will come shortly. XXXXXX
One Step Forward. Two Steps Back
Karai was a hostage of theirs. Karai was a hostage of theirs. A horrible yet relieving thing. Karai was not here of her free will. No one could manage to convince her they were her allies. Splinter had just returned from the fight they captured her from. He stayed behind to help some of the heroes retreat. He also stayed behind to attempt to get Donny. Donny, who he learned was from Leo and Mikey's universe, had evaded their grasp. On one hand, Splinter was sort of selfishly relieved it wasn't HIS Donny. But it didn't matter. It never mattered. Donny may have not acted, appeared or even fought the same but he was still Donny. Like with Leo and Mikey, Donny was his spiritual/bonded child. And it was still a loss.
Though Karai was in their possession, she was once again not willingly here. Which was why Natasha asked for his help. Leo and Mikey couldn't reach her. Casey, sadly, was too injured to talk. Coulson, rightfully, stayed by Casey's side. Splinter had since checked on Coulson, Casey, Leo and Mikey and they all explained Karai's situation. He went to talk to Natasha, to see what else to do, and Natasha said it as bluntly as possible "She won't talk to me. She thinks I'm full of it"
Splinter sighed, nodding "She inherited my stubbornness" Natasha patted Splinter's arm "I'm sorry about this. But I'm strongly considering keeping her here and not letting her out" Splinter retorted patiently "She has been deceived, Romanov. She is a victim just like the Rebellion is" Natasha sighed "Maybe. I'm just apprehensive. It's looking pretty hopeless" Splinter agreed, replying firmly "No. She is a good woman. I will reach her. She is my child. Regardless of her age" Natasha gave a thumbs up "Alright, then let's go"
Splinter nodded, following Natasha down to the prisons below. Splinter had half a mind to admonish Natasha for bringing his daughter down here. She was innocent. Loki had lied to her. Just like Saki did. But considering how angry, aggressive and determined his daughter was, it was best for her and for the rebellion. They would release her once she was willing to listen. It was purely to protect her. From herself. Karai was in her mutant snake form, hissing and angrily demanding "LET ME OUT!" She used her snake arms to bite and pull. All it did was just tire her out.
Splinter pulled Natasha back, replying solemnly "Let me speak to her. Alone" Natasha nodded, walking up the steps immediately. Splinter took two deep breaths. He had to keep it together. At least for right now. What was important, in the end, was that everyone in his family was alive. Despite his sadness for the situation, he'd rather have Karai pissed than dead. Splinter slowly walked over, seeing the snake like creature finally calm down at the sight of him. Splinter softened his gaze, replying "Hello, my daughter"
Karai hissed out in confusion "Father?" Karai instantly morphed into her human form. Her green snake-eyes now back to their auburn-gold color. Her hair and human features returned. Instantly Splinter felt a whiplash of nostalgia, love and regret. As the days went by, Karai started to look more and more like her mother. She raced to the bars, clinging onto them as she stared at her father with horror. As if he was the prisoner and she wasn't. The fact she was trying so hard to help him, when he didn't need help, broke Splinter's heart immensely. Karai replied worriedly "Father! Don't worry! I'll get you out!"
Splinter softened his gaze, holding his hand with hers. Karai immediately took it. Despite the lack of personal connections, Splinter hoped she understood that he loved her. Splinter knew that she loved him, even with her flaws. He was going to help her. He was not going to lose her again. He replied gently "Miwa, my child, Loki has deceived you" Splinter couldn't resist surrendering to his emotions, just a little. He looked away, snarling out a bit "You are forced to be fed lies constantly. It sickens me"
Karai widened her eyes before giving him an angry look. Yet Splinter knew it wasn't at HIM specifically. At least not this time. Karai confirmed his suspicions by shouting "Those bastards! They have no standards! They brainwashed you!" Karai sneered "They'll pay for that. I swear they will"
Splinter sighed, squeezing her hand "My daughter. I know Loki is a excellent liar but he is just that. A liar" Karai shook her head "No. He showed me the machine. He was desperate for more soldiers. You just got in the crossfire!" Splinter replied calmly "He is desperate for a war he himself made. I actually have proof of the Rebellion's true nature" Karai scoffed at this "At best a trick. At worst, you aren't brainwashed and believe them" Splinter stiffened before admitting "I am being truthful, Karai. I have proof from outside sources" Karai crossed her arms, defensive as she was scared like he was "If you're not brainwashed, why would you ever be here?"
Splinter stiffened, defensive himself "Because I know who my allies are" Splinter looked to see Karai still look stubborn and a little stunned. Splinter softened his gaze replying "You are my family. I will do everything I can to make sure you are safe. Even if you think less of me" This made Karai's stubborn look turn into fond affection. Karai's gaze was tender but still quite bold. So determined to fight, even if all she really wanted was to be content with those she cared about. Splinter walked closer, replying "I know you are here because of me. I know you are here because you believe that I am in danger"
Karai replied worriedly "Because you are!" Splinter shook his head "Miwa, please believe me" Karai softened her gaze "It's not you I don't believe, Father" Splinter replied calmly "I know you are so desperate to protect yourself and others but this is not the way" Karai softened her gaze more, asking gently "What other way is there?"
Splinter sighed, holding onto the cage and he was about to answer. Only to be interrupted by a door opening. He turned to see Natasha come down. Much to Splinter's horror and Natasha's concern, Karai instantly transformed into her snake form once more. She used her tail to slam against the technological key. She slammed on it hard which caused it to break. Karai instantly broke the door, striking Natasha. Natasha though grabbed Karai and tased her. This caused Karai to shout in anger as she was forced to retreat. Natasha pressed buttons to make the prison lock up tightly. She aimed her taser at Karai again which made Splinter grab her, demanding "No! Enough!"
Natasha replied "She needs to be restrained. If she can't calm down, we need to take precautions" Splinter snapped "Being aggressive will only increase the suspicions she has. You are only encouraging the lie!" Natasha coldly replied "Splinter, I have other people to worry about. If she flees and tells them where we are, Loki will kill us" Splinter retorted firmly "You say this as if my daughter would risk innocent people" Natasha snapped "Because she will!"
Splinter shoved Natasha away, getting right in front of the angry but intimidated Karai. Splinter aimed his jade cane "Natasha, I am very aware of my place. But I will break any rule I need to in order to protect those I love" Splinter kept the cane upright in a weapon-like stance "You have already locked the room. You solved the issue. You do not need to escalate it anymore" Splinter replied firmly "Stand down. Please"
Natasha crossed her arms "She's not capable of reasoning with right now. Clearly" Splinter retorted coldly "You only focus on what you wish to see. Not what is actually in front of you"
Karai morphed back into a human as this conversation went on. Karai forced herself up. Karai snarled at Natasha. Karai went to attack but Splinter pulled her back. Splinter murmured patiently, but firmly "Miwa, please. Stand down" Karai stiffened, seeing how seriously protective her father was. Guilt, disgrace and anger went through her but she submitted. Natasha widened her eyes. Maybe Splinter was right. Maybe Karai wasn't too hopeless. Natasha hummed as Karai looked away, a evident look of indecisiveness on her features. It seemed it was only a minute yet Splinter reached her better than she, Tony and Clint ever did.
Natasha called on her wrist talkie "It's fine, Clint. Get the car ready" Karai widened her eyes "W-What car?" Natasha crossed her arms "We were going to drive you back to St. Patrick Pavilion. That's a hot spot for Loki's soldiers" Karai looked angry "Didn't you just want to keep me here?" Natasha nodded "I still do. But I'm willing to swallow my pride. On one condition" Karai crossed her arms "What's that?" Natasha replied firmly "You will be willing to take a memory potion" Karai snarled "Like hell I will!" Splinter replied firmly "Romanov, there must be a different way" Natasha replied "Unlike you, I don't let anything get in my way. Including feelings like love"
Splinter sneered, pulling Karai a bit closer "She is still a human being. You do not know if a potion like that is safe" Natasha replied "It is safe. It's from Jack" Splinter widened his eyes "He can do that?" Karai widened her eyes "Jack? As in Jack Morrigan?" Natasha nodded "Yes. Why do you ask?"
Karai recalled Jack was a spy. She was extremely indecisive now. Thanks to Splinter's boldness and willing to be equal with Natasha, Karai wasn't too sure Splinter was forced to be here. Splinter, someone who was the most honest in her life, wouldn't do something evil. The man was flawed but he was still a incredibly good man. Good men stayed with good people. Even if they weren't perfect. Yet Karai still felt this sense of loyalty to Loki and Johnny. Johnny was especially kind to her. Plus, she had Donny to protect. It wasn't her version of Donny but Karai became very quick friends with him. She dare even say he became like a brother. Karai knew Jack's cover story was that he was a rogue. So she smirked smugly, replying "Just wanted to see if that traitor was still kicking"
Splinter replied gently "He betrayed them for a reason" Karai shrugged "Sure. He did. Doesn't mean it was a good one" Natasha calmly replied "Well, he's your ticket out of here. You either do the potion or you can just be our housemate. Take your pick"
Karai didn't exactly love Natasha. Yet she felt a bit of respect for the red-haired agent. She supposed Natasha reminded her of April. Only difference was Karai and April usually liked to come to a understanding. Natasha seemed more than happy to keep her here. She seemed far too focused on the mission. Even more than Karai herself was. Karai sighed, rubbing her eyes. Karai stated "I've been brainwashed and lied to for a while. Forgive me for being apprehensive to a potion that can wipe out my memories"
Natasha retorted "It's a manual potion. Meaning we only wipe the memories we want to wipe" Splinter asked curiously "Did you test it?" Natasha nodded "We did. We did on Jack himself and on me" Splinter got more curious, asking "What did you want to forget, Romanov?" Natasha chuckled, ruffling her hair "Old baggage from my childhood"
Splinter and Karai widened their eyes at this. Natasha though took it in stride and replied "So, Karai, you do this and we'll send you packing" Natasha smirked smugly "You could always make yourself at home. We could always use more members"
Karai looked to her father then to Natasha "You do realize I'd come back right?" Natasha nodded, replying calmly "And if you're too angry to chat, we'll just send your butt back here" Karai crossed her arms, sighing "Alright, fine, I'll take it. At least I get a choice this time" Natasha clicked her fingers "Yeah, see, that's the thing. I'm an ass but at least I get the job done"
Natasha turned to Splinter, replying firmly "Make sure she stays here" Splinter nodded slowly as Natasha carefully opened the door and quickly shut it. Karai sat down, rubbing her eyes and Splinter walked over to her. Karai and Splinter looked to each other with fond, apprehensive and stern looks. They both were on different sides yet again. Yet they really didn't want to be.
Karai sighed, shaking her head "Why is it we're always on different sides?" Splinter resisted the urge to cry at this "I have asked myself that same question, my child" Karai held Splinter's shoulder "I know you're here for a reason and I accept it. Regardless of what Romanov says, I do not want to hurt the people here" Splinter smiled gently, nodding "I believe you. I know that you have changed from your past. You will continue to change yet stay the same" Karai nodded, smiling fondly "Yeah. You accept me for who I am. That's why I appreciate you, Father. I know I never said it before" Splinter waved it off "You do not have to say it. Actions speak far louder than words"
Karai softened her gaze again, pulling her father in for a hug. Splinter was shocked, not used to it but he craved his daughter's affection. So, quickly, he held her, sighing softly as the two stayed close. It had been so long since the two did this. Mostly because of outside sources and their own personal tension. It also didn't help that Splinter got killed while Karai was in the hospital. This was the first time they've seen each other since then. Karai murmured "I'll come back for you, Father. Regardless of what happens"
Splinter pulled to make Karai look at him "I know. We have found each other before. We will find each other again" Karai looked to her father, replying "I know you need to stay here. For whatever reasons. But you're welcome to come if you change your mind" Splinter nodded, appreciative "I will consider it, my child. For now. You must take care of yourself" Karai smirked playfully "Hey, I always do"
Splinter knew she was joking but a pang of regret went through him. It was true. Karai had taken care of herself for so long. She would continue to do that. Yet Splinter felt this fatherly urge to take care of her in his own way. He just wanted to connect with her. Even if she was a adult. Karai was similar. Despite her joke, she did crave for more time with Splinter. She was a workaholic in her own way but she vowed to not waste any time. She already lost so much time thanks to Saki. Splinter took her hands, replying gently "Miwa. This is a war. I wish to tell you something in case fate is unkind"
Karai listened intently, nodding "What's that, Father?" Splinter sighed, confessing calmly "I love you" Karai's eyes widened before watering "I love you"
The two had another, more tearful hug as Natasha came. Splinter looked to see Natasha, despite herself, respect their bond and waited. Karai sighed, pulling away as she saw Natasha. Karai noticed Jack come down and played the smug act. Karai herself was playing an act and she hoped the rebellion would be fooled. Despite her new willingness to be merciful, she was still going to not trust them yet. When she was witty, she was far more relaxed. When she was acting smug, she played the evil act a bit. So, as Jack and Karai exchanged glances, Jack's posture got just as stiff as hers was. Playing the act of enemies.
Karai chuckled "Well now, Morrigan, I missed you. A mistake that won't happen next time" Jack clutched his heart "Ouch. You wound me, Karai. I thought we were friends" Karai sneered but was careful in tone "We're not. Not anymore" Jack waved the potion "Careful. I could always make you forget that we're enemies" Karai scoffed "As if you could keep me in the dark for long. Loki will find your sorry ass" Jack waved it off "Yeah, yeah, just take your medicine and we can get going" Natasha raised her hand up "No. Not here. We'll do it on the way"
Natasha beckoned Jack and Karai to walk. Splinter watched this with a tense, nervous expression. He may never see her again yet he had to let her go. Karai sighed, putting her hand up "Give me a second" Karai raced over and handed over her tanto. Karai looked kindly to Splinter "Keep this" Splinter widened his eyes. This was a ninja tradition to give to loved ones. If a ninja was off to war, they would leave a weapon behind to give to a family member. A symbol of coming back. Splinter understood immediately, taking it and bowing his head. Karai squeezed his arm before going up with Natasha, allowing the woman to cuff her. Karai was taken by Jack and Natasha. Splinter rushed upstairs, not wanting to lose sight of his daughter until she was officially gone.
Clint was seen in a undercover car. Splinter felt frozen at the front yard. Patrick Wallen, Alex Tobeck and the Huntress were keeping watch. Karai was taken to the back with Jack while Natasha took the front passenger seat. Clint put his sunglasses on, turning to the others with a smug smile "Keep the fortress safe for a few minutes. Gotta deliver a package" Splinter was tempted to say no. He was tempted to go with her. Yet he had other children to take care of. He had Coulson. He had responsibilities. So, he stayed put.
As the car started, Splinter clutched the tanto close to his chest. Staring as the car drove off. Natasha and Clint drove without another word. Splinter's fondness, sadness, guilt, anger, frustration and shame went with them. Splinter slowly went to the rocking chair, flashbacks of what Karai said and how she behaved today already were playing in his head. She was gone yet she wasn't. She was on his side yet she wasn't. She was his enemy yet she wasn't. Splinter turned to see Patrick sit by him. Patrick replied "You know this Karai chick?"
Splinter softened his gaze "She is my daughter" Patrick hissed as did Alex, Alex commented "Shit. That's rough" Patrick replied annoyedly "No shit it's rough. I'm shocked you're so calm. I'd burst to tears" Splinter, feeling vulnerable and defensive, sneered a bit "Patrick, leave me alone. Please" Patrick widened his eyes before nodding "I got you. Take your time. My bad" Alex walked over, replying patiently "Master, for what it's worth, your daughter is a good fighter. She'll be okay" Splinter was appreciative but still vulnerable, so he replied "I know she will. She will return" Patrick couldn't help but comment "Hopefully without an army" Alex slapped Patrick's head "Dude, this is why he needs to be alone. Come on"
Alex took Patrick away much to Splinter's satisfaction. Splinter held the tanto blade, getting the sword out of it's scabbard to study it. It was sharp and taken care of properly. It was clean, polished and had only a few permanent scratches. Splinter put it back, holding it to his lap. He felt his sadness stay but he was very glad to keep this sword. It meant Karai was going to keep her promise. It meant that Karai was not so resistant to him anymore. It meant they were getting closer.
She may have not been a child but she was still HIS family.

Another Coulson/Splinter fic. Sorry, not sorry. Just looking forward to more threads with them later. XXXXX
Holding It Together
It was a sad night. More news had arrived for Splinter. Raphael, the alternate one, had entered the fray. He wasn't allowed to fight this certain battle thanks to Warren needing help. Splinter was still selfishly relieved that this wasn't his version of Raphael. Yet it didn't make it any less sad for him. If anything, it felt like a deep blow. Raph, Donny and Karai were his enemies. Karai had visited him a couple times, in secret, to weigh her options as did Donny. Though Karai and Donny still didn't trust the rebellion. Raph definitely would not be willing yet considering his first encounter with the rebellion was a fight. It also didn't help that Leo was devastated thanks to Donny confessing he was taken in by two men as his son. The blow was even worse when Donny admitted these men had processed for Raph's adoption too. Leo and Mikey who were incredibly devastated, turning to Splinter for guidance and comfort. He helped them as much as he could but it was clear the pain was a lot for the two of them. In a way, it was really painful for Splinter too. Mikey raced off to talk to Elijah, a boy Splinter knew Mikey had feelings for. Leo went to go talk to Woody, a friend Leo had been developing feelings for. Splinter was fine with this as he himself was going to talk to Coulson. Coulson didn't know yet plus Splinter had nowhere else to turn.
He found Coulson in his office and realized he was with Natasha, talking over plans. Days past and Natasha was finally gaining Coulson's good favor. Mostly because Natasha finally owned up to her mistake as opposed to justify it. Splinter realized this and was turning to leave but Coulson noticed and replied "Oh! Splinter! Hey!"
Splinter bowed his head, replying "Forgive me, I did not realize you were discussing business" Coulson waved it off "We're wrapping up" Natasha offered a couple papers "Remember to keep an eye on Woody. He just tried to find his Dad again" Coulson sighed, checking the papers "That Woody. He's a good kid. Just a bit impulsive"
Natasha shrugged, nodding to Splinter who nodded back. Splinter and Natasha had their own understanding and Splinter felt that the reason Natasha became more humble was because of Casey's interference. Splinter was the meditator between a lot of people and Natasha was fully aware. Natasha and he had a mutual sense of respect. But Splinter still had his resentments due to her deceitfulness and relatively cold attitude. So he wasn't as close with her. He was still and always would be on Coulson's side above all else. Therefore, his respect only went so far. He was pleased she left. Natasha wasn't someone he trusted that much as he trusted Coulson.
As she left, Splinter hesitated as he saw Coulson's papers. Despite his trust and reliance on Phil, Splinter was aware he was a leader. Splinter did believe a leader had to take care of many things but he also respected the position's responsibility. Because of this, he felt guilty anytime he was vulnerable and needed Phil. Coulson was always proud to help him but Splinter still felt his loving protection cloud his judgement. He wished to be selfless for Phil, let him focus on the mission. Yet Coulson's sweet eyes stared into his, his face showing fondness as he patted the empty chair. Coulson asked "Wanna talk?"
Splinter felt entranced and sat down, nodding "Yes, I apologize but it is important" Coulson nodded, putting his papers down "Tell me" Splinter took a deep breath, murmuring "I have just learned Raphael is within Loki's army as well thanks to Calvin" Coulson stiffened before asking curiously "Which one?" Splinter looked away, saddened "The one from Leonardo and Michelangelo's universe" Coulson rubbed his eyes "Great. Like those kids and you need this pressure" Splinter stiffened, breathing heavily "This should not be happening" Coulson squeezed Splinter's hand "I know you're struggling bad with this. It's hard to take in" Splinter took a deep breath before replying "I just cannot imagine my sons as my enemies. I dread having my daughter as a enemy" Coulson softened his gaze "She still feels like Loki's army is the best side?" Splinter sighed, nodding "She is unsure still. She actually befriended Johnny who is Loki's partner" Coulson nodded, shrugging "I guess I can understand where she's coming from"
Splinter nodded again, leaning on his chair as he looked to Coulson who stared at him with fond sadness. Splinter felt his heart bleed out pain as he murmured "Now Raphael is endangered. Donatello has contacted us but only through fights. Donatello is similar to Karai and is unsure" Splinter softened his gaze, sadness in his expressions "He is so brilliant yet so vulnerable" Splinter stiffened, concerned as he recalled something "Donatello could easily invent a transporter if he wanted to"
Coulson pointed out "It could take months. Tony is still working on his" Splinter replied "Donatello is far more brilliant than most boys his age" Coulson chuckled "So is Tony" Splinter sighed "I just hope Mr. Stark will invent it faster than my son does" Coulson nodded "Times like these call for desperate hope"
Splinter and Coulson then looked to see the papers of information, countless files and new weapon blueprints. Coulson looked at them and sighed "I'm better with paperwork than most of the leaders here" Coulson shrugged, commenting "Tony, Mike and Bruce hate it. Natasha and Ororo are not the best with it. Steve literally can't do it" He looked to see Splinter rise. This made Coulson pull him back down, replying "Hey, hey, that doesn't mean you can't stay. I'd prefer you'd stay actually"
Splinter softened his gaze, relaxing again "I am glad. I would prefer to stay also" Coulson checked the papers "Most of this is just organization anyway" Splinter took a paper, widening his eyes at the updated file on Ted "His powers are growing?" Coulson nodded "He and Adam Mergens are officially threats now" Splinter got concerned "Michelangelo has commented about fearing Ted Marx. This will not help his case" Coulson sighed, nodding "We will tell Mikey about that later. Right now he needs to deal with the Raph blow" Splinter sighed again "As if this fire needed more gasoline"
Coulson pulled Splinter in, their heads touching in comfort. The two had a long bout of silence as Splinter kept reminiscing that Raph was now in the fray. Donny and Raph were away from them, living a different life yet still connected to them. Splinter's family was drifted apart by war, parental figures and life. There was still love between them and the familiar loyalty was still there yet their lives were changing. Splinter kept repeating the information he heard from Karai, Donny and other sources in his head. To his shock, tears started to come into his eyes.
Coulson softened his gaze, murmuring "Hey, it'll be okay, we'll figure it out" Splinter sniffed, tears started to form more "My family is being torn apart" Coulson shook his head "No it isn't. Life just got in the way. Donny and Raph are going to be okay" Splinter's tears started to stream "Raphael and Donatello have another family" Coulson sighed "It's their choice. They're old enough. Besides, two families is still a family with you in it" Splinter retorted sadly "Having them adopted by another is not the issue. It is the fact they are separated from me" Coulson held Splinter close "You're not being left behind. Donny and Raph still love you, Leo and Mikey" Splinter gripped onto Coulson "I know. I know. But--But--"
Coulson shushed assuringly as Splinter surrendered to his emotions. Despite the awareness Donny and Raph were being taken care of well, it didn't change the fact two people had possessed Raph and Donny as theirs. It didn't change the fact these two, who were 18, were living a different life from theirs. It didn't change the fact that they were not connected. If they were all on the same side and had been adopted by others to protect them, it'd be totally fine. Yet this was a tactic to stay in the Loki army with ease. And Splinter felt like it was a slap across his, Leo and Mikey's face. Their Splinter was alone in his universe, unaware and forcefully left in the dust. Splinter wept not just for himself and the turtles he had in his care but for the Splinter in his universe. Even though Donny and Raph weren't actually abandoning them, it still felt this way. Splinter wept more, holding onto Coulson who rubbed his back, holding him close with assuring shushes.
Coulson breathed heavily as he felt genuine pain from Splinter's suffering. The agent did gentle murmurs of affection and a occasional kiss across the face. Coulson understood the pain of having everyone you love not in the same place. It wasn't the fact Donny, Raph and Karai had allies. It was the fact those allies kept them away from the rebellion. Coulson knew Splinter was a man that lost so many people, both in the literal and metaphorical sense. Splinter had people tear him down emotionally by treating him as a enemy, monster or both. Coulson murmured softly "I'm here. I'm here" These words made Splinter's soft cries transition to slightly louder ones. Splinter was just one person and he could only be strong for so long. Eventually, the crying stopped and the two finally healed enough to be less distraught. The strength came back thanks to the two staying together and facing this loss together. Coulson and Splinter looked into each others eyes and Coulson felt this urge. Coulson surrendered to it, pulling Splinter in for a assuring, tender kiss. Splinter kissed back, pulling Coulson closer. The two kept kissing for a while before Coulson pulled back and affectionately rubbed Splinter's cheeks with his thumbs. Coulson softened his gaze to Splinter "I told you. You'll always have me"
Splinter softened his gaze more, replying gently "And you shall always have me" Coulson murmured "I'll get them back. We'll get them back. They won't be lost to us forever. It's just a bad time. They will return home. You will return home" Splinter's gaze got melancholy, admitting "I cannot imagine a home without you. Not anymore" Coulson widened his eyes "What do you mean?" Splinter pulled away, holding his hands "I-I know you have a life here. I know I have a life outside of this place. Yet I cannot lose you" Coulson looked stunned "S-Splinter are you asking me to--?" Splinter interrupted, giving a desperate tone "Come with me" Coulson softened his gaze "You--You really want me to come?" Splinter nodded, pleading "Please. I know you have responsibilities but I can help you start a new life. There is plenty of opportunities for you" Coulson squeezed Splinter's hands, replying "It's not that. It's just--It could take a while. You might not see your family for a while" Splinter replied gently "I understand. I am asking if you will come when the time is right"
Coulson pondered about everything. Most if not all his family was gone long before this fiasco. Nick, Natasha, Tony and Clint were allies but still not close. Steve was his idol but Steve had his own life. Splinter was everything he wanted in a partner. Casey was officially his son at this point. Leo and Mikey would go back to their home, as was always their plan, so Coulson would relatively just go with Karai, Casey and Splinter. He could, and would, become family with Splinter's universes sons as they were relatively the same type of bond as the alternate Turtles. There was more to lose in not following Splinter than staying. So, with a gentle, sweet grin Coulson nodded "Yes. I will come" Splinter's gaze was stunned, as if he didn't expect a yes. This made Coulson assure "Why wouldn't I come? You're family"
Splinter's eyes lit up with relief, fondness and joy. Splinter kissed Coulson again, beside himself with satisfaction. After a tender kiss, Splinter pulled back and murmured "I love you, Phil"
Coulson smiled, replying "I love you too, Splinter" Splinter put his forehead to Coulson's "I feel far less alone with you" Coulson smiled more, replying "You do the same for me"
Splinter and Coulson sighed, doing another hug before Coulson did a quick kiss. Coulson looked to his papers and blushed "I still need to organize" Splinter nodded, offering a couple file folders. Coulson went to work, allowing Splinter to lean his head on Coulson's shoulder. As the two had casual chat, Coulson felt content and complete. Coulson was making his mind up. Leo, Mikey, Raph and Donny from Splinter's Alternate universe would most likely not come. But he would along with Casey and Karai. Coulson was not going to leave Splinter not by a long shot. He would make sure Splinter was content and able to hold it together. After all, Splinter had always done the same for him. It was how strong their bond was. Neither would abandon the other, even under these great odds.

"I'm sorry, son, I can't come with you guys"
Woody had spent days, weeks even, on searching for his father. Only to have his father outright tell him he couldn't come. Scratch that, his father wouldn't come. All because of a asgardian woman. He was willing to abandon him for a woman. Woody's father was a man that said family came first. Yet his father did a bit of a 180 with this woman. His father was even willing to start a new life. Woody kept repeating these final words in his head. All his attempts. All his tries to reach his father. All of it was for nothing. It felt like such a waste of time. A betrayal he never expected or wanted.
Woody had felt completely broken. Almost to the point of losing himself. Alex and Patrick thankfully were still around but they had lives too. Alex tried to make the pain easier by pointing out his father offered Woody a chance to live in Asgard. Yet the replacement of him with a new woman, who was pregnant, felt like it overwhelmed the offer. It felt like too little for Woody's heart. Woody just... was at a loss of what to do now. Especially now that he was facing Earth's destruction, overall, on his own.
Woody felt so overwhelmed by this news he cried. Late at night. In the kitchen. He cried as much as he could. He didn't know what else to do. He didn't know how to continue. He cried so much he didn't feel the person pulling him in until after the fact. Woody hiccupped, looking to see it was Leo. Leo and he had become fast friends. Leo was a bit more serious than he was but both were determined, hard-working people. They connected through lost family along with various things in common. It was he who was comforting him now. Woody wiped his tears, replying softly "H-Hey, Leo"
Leo softened his gaze "Woody, I'm sorry" Woody wiped his eyes "For what? It's not your fault" Leo replied gently "Maybe not but you worked so hard and I can tell you got really hurt" Woody gripped the table "D-Do you know why I'm upset?" Leo admitted calmly "I asked Alex. He explained the situation" Woody sneered just a little "I-I can't believe he just started a new life" Leo replied calmly "You have every right to feel betrayed" Woody sneered more "I searched everywhere! Only to find out he's dating someone and she's pregnant" Leo widened his eyes, stunned "Oh my god. It's only been a couple months" Woody vented aloud "Exactly! It's like he completely forgot about me! About everything we've been through!" Leo pulled Woody in, replying "Listen to me, Woody, that's not on you. That's on him" Woody sniffed, tears forming "Clearly it is on me. He stopped wanting to be my dad. I feel so stupid"
Leo moved Woody around, replying gently "That's not true. He's still your dad. He's just being selfish" Leo rubbed Woody's back, giving a gentle but brave look "If he can't realize he's missing out on you, then he's the one whose stupid. Not you" Leo continued, his tone passionate and tender "How could he do that? How can he forget that he has the sweetest, bravest, funniest and most loyal kid? How can he forget all that hard work you've done for yourself and him? How can he forget that he already has everything he needs when he has someone like you? How can he give you up for someone else?" Woody felt so touched as Leo continued to speak on his behalf. Leo gritted his teeth just a little "If it were up to me, I'd tell him off for being so blatantly careless! He should be dragged back! He needs to get a clue!" Leo widened his eyes, realizing the words he was saying. Leo looked down, replying gently "I'm sorry Woody. I didn't mean to go too far"
Woody pulled him in, smiling "N-No. It's okay. Y-You really made me feel better just now" Leo sighed in relief "I was trying to. You always help me feel better" Woody smiled more, replying "Well, I may not have my dad, but with friends like you, I should be okay" Leo smiled back, responding "Woody. I always have your back. I would never back down on my friend" Woody leaned on Leo, smiling bright "I know. You've always had my back. I hope you know I got yours" Leo pulled Woody in tight "Of course I do"
Woody felt such fondness and appreciation. Leo's smile made his night a lot better. The two stared at each other, holding hands. It was Leo who realized it first and became sheepish. Leo blushed, replying shyly "Oh, um, sorry. I kind of held it a bit too long there" Leo then was stunned that Woody took his hands again. Leo blushed more but didn't pull away, shyly smiling. Leo chuckled a bit "Y-You don't mind holding hands?"
Woody smiled a bit "No. Especially not yours" Leo squeezed Woody's hands before sighing "Hey, Woody, it'll be okay" Woody sighed, nodding "Maybe not tonight but you're right. This'll work out eventually" Leo squeezed Woody's hands again "It's getting late. You should be asleep" Woody chuckled "You really are like a mom sometimes" Leo stuck his tongue out "Hey, someone has to look out for you" Woody replied appreciatively "You always deliver, that's for sure"
Leo smiled again, rising up and leading Woody to his section room where Alex and Patrick slept. Woody sighed as Leo replied "Sleep well, Woody. I'll see you in the morning" Then Leo was shocked as Woody grabbed him for a tight hug. Leo's heart raced in relief, joy and shock. He didn't push away, if anything the turtle hugged back. Woody murmured a goodnight after a while before giving a gentle smile to Leo as he closed his door. Leo watched Woody close his door before heading to his section room, where Splinter and Casey was sleeping. Mikey however was by the door, smirking evilly. Leo looked to Mikey, curious "What?"
Mikey chuckled "I knew it" Leo was confused "Knew what?" Mikey batted his eyes "You like Woody" Leo rolled his eyes "As a friend" Mikey winked playfully "With benefits" Leo shoved Mikey "Get your ass to bed, Mikey!" Mikey replied playfully "You know damn well I'm right" Leo shushed Mikey "Mikey, quiet, Splinter hates being disturbed. More than our Splinter" Mikey pointed a playful finger "Deflection just proves me right" Leo sighed, snipping "Can we discuss this in the morning?" Mikey chuckled "Sure. We have to discuss your future plans with your new boyfriend" Leo shoved Mikey again "I said go to bed!"
Mikey snickered before getting into his cot. Leo went to go but saw Woody peek his head out. Leo blushed, panicking as he shut his door. Woody just chuckled fondly. Despite Mikey's teasing, Woody didn't mind at all. Leo was someone he was growing extremely fond of. Maybe romance was not off the table after all. As Woody fell asleep peacefully, the last image in his head was Leo's smile. That smile made the pain of his father's abandonment just a lot more easier.
