Afraid To Let Go (Sue)

Johnny sat at the fountain. He'd had breakfast earlier and was now enjoying the beautiful garden. He had gained so many wonderful things lately. Immortality, the safety of his family and he had his sister back. He knew Ben and Alicia were in the rebellion. He wished they were here but the fact they were alive was good enough for him. But Reed was still missing and that worried him. He figured Sue was probably taking this pretty hard but he didn't know how to bring it up. He always hated seeing his sister cry or being upset. He would just have to be for her as much as he could and hoped they found Reed.

"Stupid Reed. Where are you when we needed you?" said Johnny, thinking out loud.

To say susan wasn't affected by being by herself without her husband wasn't true. It did. She missed his company terribly and there were times she figured it was maybe best to run away just so she could find him. His lack of presence affected her than she cared to admit. So much was going on and he was no where to be found. She wasn't mad, just concerned he was dead or worse against them. Susan was thinking about him even more now that johnny was going to be married and have children. She had gotten along quite well with john but she was worried for her brother and would like a little personal support without johnny having to know. But that was the thing. Johnny was sensitive and wasn't stupid, he could tell she missed reed. But susan refused to let johnny see that. All she was focused on was supporting him and his issues. Especially determined to help him be the mother he was supposed to be.

Their parents were people that meant well and did their best to be supportive but the reality was they were overall distracted by lives and jobs. Susan had been taking care of johnny pretty much since she was a little girl. Now their parents did help her out and supported her, susan had no resentments but she felt like a lone mother for a long time. Reed was a person who helped her emotionally. Now with him gone she felt alone again. She just wished she would be more honest with johnny but the thing was: She was worried about making him more stressed and upset.

Susan turned to notice Johnny mutter to himself at a fountain and she felt a flare of defensiveness come out. But it was quickly shut down because susan understood where johnny was coming from. Still, it was best to make a good situation out of this anyway "Hey. Leave the passive aggressive comments to me" She joked to him. She smiled softly, successfully trying to make it feel lighter than needed. Johnny had grown surprisingly wiser and more serious as time passed where she became more friendly and pleasant. She felt like johnny could use the old humor way of handling things back. She replied with a soft sigh "He's trying to find us. He won't be gone for very long it'll just take a while johnny"

Johnny looked up in surprise seeing Sue and he chuckled.

"I hope so. I want to believe he's ok. I heard Ben and Alicia are in the rebellion. Oh and Doom's here as a slave. He tried to kill me and Loki put a stop to that. I'd be dead if it wasn't for him." said Johnny.

He knew she may not like it but he didn't keep secrets from his sister. Even if she may end up worrying or being overprotective about it later. He then gasped feeling a kick.

"They kicked. Well one of them did." said Johnny.

He grinned grabbing Sue's hand placing it over his stomach as he felt one of them kick again.

"I definitely got the next generation of soccer players and dancers in here." said Johnny.

Susan was admittedly not surprised ben was part of the rebellion. She was a bit concerned with how he would react with johnny and herself agreeing to side with Loki. She hoped ben would understand and forgive them. Doom on the other hand made her get really upset, really quickly. Especially when she realized doom attempted to kill johnny. The thought of her brother getting hurt, nearly getting killed, his children going along with him. Angered her far more than she wanted it to. "He did WHAT?!" Susan rose immediately before replying angrily "Why that no good son of a bitch. Oh he's so lucky loki is in charge I could just... AH" She kicked the rocks hard, out of pure frustration. She only calmed down when johnny said his babies kicked. Susan was pacified then and widened her eyes and she gasped, absolutely delighted.

This was definitely a scientific anomaly, and she pictured reed wanting to study the ever loving hell out of johnny's body. But she was relieved, somewhat, that he wasn't here to do that. All she wanted to do was live in this moment, her brother was going to be a mother. She couldn't help but smile to johnny, giving him a big hug, laughing a little as he joked "Oh definitely. At least one of them should go to ballet" She smiled softly then "I'm really happy for you johnny. I'll admit it was hard to swallow at first but all I want is for you to be happy"

Johnny flinched at Susan's wrath before remembering she wasn't mad at him for oncde. He snickered not envying Doom right now.

"Hey, it's ok. Guy's made into a slave. He lost his country. Couldn't get any worse for him. Believe me. Loki came this close to killing him but I thought that would be too good for him. Guy should pay for what he did. Not just that attack. But what he did to us, and Ben and Reed. And the Silver Surfer." said Johnny.

Johnny grinned.

"Maybe one of them will end up as an actor in Broadway or in the films. Want them to reach for the stars. Then again not sure what exactly is left of what we knew on the earth. There may not even be a Hollywood, ballet or sports. Guess we may have to bring some things back." said Johnny.

Johnny chuckled.

"I never expected to have kids of my own. Well aside from John. I kind of adopted him. I don t know if you met him yet. I'm already sure he's your favorite aunt." said Johnny.

"Doom should definitely be paying for all he did to us and especially silver surfer. He nearly killed me. But I will never forgive him for almost killing you. He deserves to lose his country. He deserves to suffer a little bit" Susan replied bitterly. She couldn't believed that she almost married this bastard. Some judge of character she had. She was blessed that reed was there for her through it all and HE was the one who married her. She was relieved that she gave reed the chance he asked for, for now she had a great husband. And whereever he was, she knew that when they were together things would turn out alright.

"Hey. Just ask loki to get hollywood or something. Say it's for the future of the babies. But hey your kids might not even want to do that. Let's just hope one of them goes into ballet or soccer at least" Susan somewhat joked, smiling, beyond excited. She even giggled a bit with glee "I'm actually so excited. I can't believe I'm going to be a aunt. I want so badly to be a aunt" She also wanted to be a mother. She loved children. But she didn't really want to pressure reed into it. She thought it best to just survive as a couple first. She then nodded about john, smiling "John and I met a bit but I do want to spend time with my older nephew. After all, he needs to have someone to complain about his dads" She then playfully punched him before going to check his stomach again. When they kicked again she giggled in delight "Man they are not going easy on you"

Johnny nodded.

"I do hope the Silver Surfer doesn't show up though. I'd rather not switch powers with you guys again. Our powers are hard enough to master without having to learn a new one. Or have all four like when I had to fight Doom when he stole the surfer's powers." said Johnny.

Johnny smiled.

"Well may have to rebuild a lot of things. Don't know what's still around and what isn't. But Hollywood should be one of the things we do bring back. Or start with theater and go from there. After all, it's older than movies and TVs or so I've heard." said Johnny.

Johnny chuckled.

"You're going to have to help me out with baby stuff. I just thought I'd be the cool uncle and you and Reed would be doing this kind of thing. I have no idea if I'm eating right or what clothes they need. Or food. I don't want to screw this up. I mean I couldn't even keep my goldfish or plants alive growing up." said Johnny.

Johnny nodded again.

"The poor kid had a drunk abusive father who's in jail for killing his mother. If the bastard survived the attack I don't want him anywhere near my son. But I'm glad he has you in his life. You're probably the closest he'd get to a mom. Loki and I will try our best but you were like a mother and a sister to me all in one. I wouldn't trust anyone else with John but you, Evan and Loki." said Johnny.

Johnny grinned.

"Probably not. But they're half Loki and half me. So they're going to be pretty powerful and pretty stubborn." said Johnny.

"Yeah the silver surfer turned out okay but maybe having him around might be too much for us to process. I speak from personal experience" Susan said with a shudder, agreeing with her brother. She wasn't the true victim of it, but she definitely got bad results from the fiasco. One having to do with constant media posting her nudes with the phrases 'Reed's Hot Bride' or 'Firey Exclusive'. She still had calls asking for them from weird strangers before the loki business went down.

"We could always reincarnate Hollywood to combine all three or something like that. I mean that's up to you but we don't have to call it Hollywood you know. We can always make the earth nicer than before. After all, people can adapt better than we give ourselves credit for" Susan suggested. If she was going to support her brother, she might as well take this new world in stride and learn from there. She did have to admit, that loki's changes might not be a bad idea as she originally thought. Maybe the fact loki was so kind to her brother made her rethink herself a bit. She then beamed ear to ear as johnny asked for her help. "Oh, I already made a list! Don't you worry, auntie susan is on the case! With me, those babies will be living in luxury" She then pulled out a huge list of items which included: Baby bottles, dresses for girls, suits for boys, binkies and pajamas, teddy bears, a bottle that said 'I love my aunt', shirts that said 'Daddy's angel' and 'daddy's little princess' and 'daddy's favorite son'. She then heard johnny's worry about taking care of them by eating right "Well I heard that sweet potatoes, bananas, dried fruit and tons of dairy. Trust me. Mom ate a ton of dairy when she was pregnant with you. So maybe you should do the same. Oh and did I forget to mention broccoli" She smirked amusedly knowing that when they were children, johnny was not fond of broccoli but she hoped he had grown since then.

Susan then frowned a lot as johnny explained john was adopted due to being a product of abuse and orphaned thanks to his father killing his mother. She sighed, asking herself why some evil people were parents when willing and kind people were unable to have kids. It made her a little grateful that the worst she could say about her parents were that they were sometimes too busy. At least they didn't beat her or johnny. She then smiled softly as johnny expressed that he was grateful for her being around and that he trusted her among most people. Susan replied softly "Johnny, you can always trust me to help you out. No matter what I'm your sister and I'll always support you. Always" She then smiled "The same goes to john too. He is welcome to spend time with me anytime. After all, he's my nephew now, he's gotta have some member of the family spoil him" She beamed at that. She wanted to be a mother and felt helping johnny would help her practice more than she had already.

"Oh geez. The teen years are gonna be so fun for you two" She cackled a little, amused with the idea. She then smiled to johnny and replied "But maybe them being as powerful and stubborn as they are is a good thing"

Johnny nodded.

"I might see if Loki or one of the others will have a way to block the surfer's effects on us. Even if we have to wear a bracelet or take a potion a day. Our powers are hard enough to control if we swapped. Or worse got someone else powers in the army." said Johnny.

He grinned.

"I guess we could recreate anything that's gone right now." Said Johnny.

He chuckled hearing she made a list.

"That's good. I'm glad for the help." said Johnny.

He paused at the mention of food.

"I'll have to remember all of that." said Johnny.

He groaned at the mention of broccoli and shook his head.

"I think I'll find something else to eat instead of that." said Johnny.

He grinned at her.

"I know sis. You're one of the few people I know I can always count on." said Johnny.

He chuckled as she spoke again.

"Not to mention they may get my powers and Loki's. So having fire powers and magic could be interesting." said Johnny.

Susan nodded, agreeing with her brother's wise idea "Best idea ever, little brother. Best we get that settled. A bracelet, necklace, I don't care. Anything to prevent that fiasco happening again" Susan pondered more on rebuilding the world, nodding at her brother's words "Yeah. We will. One day at a time. Let's focus on all this other stuff going on" Susan waved it off as Johnny thanked her "Hey, just being a good aunt, I should be helping out" Susan chuckled as he admitted he would have a hard time remembering "Don't worry, I'll remember some of it for you" Susan crossed her arms, smirking amusedly as Johnny wanted to avoid eating broccoli "Come on, Johnny. What kind of example would you be to the kids? They'll need to eat food they don't like either"

Susan smiled as Johnny admitted she was reliable "I'm always going to help you out. One way or another" Johnny then commented on the infant's powers "That would be interesting" She admitted. She shrugged "Who knows what they'll have. We should take this one step at a time"

Johnny grinned.

"And jewelry would be the most stylish and easier to hide. No one in the other army might question it." replied Johnny.

Johnny nodded.

"One day a time. I like that." said Johnny.

Johnny chuckled.

"You'd be running this place if you could I know it." replied Johnny.

He nodded again.

"That's why you're the best. Maybe make notes like a journal or something for me to reference. And Loki too. I might have to ask for his help as the children might end up part Jotun." said Johnny.

Johnny smirked.

"Definitely will be a handful." replied Johnny.
