Personality:
Connor is a stubborn and cynical guy. All he had was his mother for years. He tried making friends but with being on the move so much he stopped trying after awhile. He began to feel like he could only count on himself and his mother. He was a devoted son trying to be the best he could be. However, in school was another matter. The older he got and distant from his classmates in the various schools he got into fights. People would mock his clothes or the fact he was poor or his mother and it would cause him to snap.
He had a love of learning becoming quite skilled in his classes. Others called him a nerd and others claimed he chated which resulted in more fights and detentions. He was really good at computers despite not having one of his own. He used the school or library computers for things like research and school projects. He secretly hoped to go to college one day through a scholarship but doubted it'd ever happened.
The death of his mother hit him hard. Something he blamed himself over even though it wasn't his fault. And that resulted in more fights as people mocked him. Others tried to talk to him but he mistook it for teasing and ignored them or started more fights. He eventually learned to control his temper through meditation not wanting to disappoint his mother and focused on his studies wanting to make her proud.
History:
Born: He was born in Nashville, TN. His mother kept the identity of who his father was from Connor and his father. She hadn't wanted his money and thought he wouldn't want a son. So Connor grew up as an only child with only his mother. Connor was just told his father was a hero and had died long ago.
Childhood: His mother worked several jobs over the years to make sure he had a house, clothes, food, and other things. Sometimes it would be days before he'd see her. Or only see her for a few minutes. He often spent most of his time being babysat by neighborhood kids or women. But they were didn't stay in one place for too long. His mother couldn't always pay the bills. Sometimes it was power and other times it was rent. She chose power more often than rent giving them a place to stay for 30 days before they'd have to leave again. Sometimes they ended up staying in shelters or hotels between homes.
School: He loved going to school and learning. Despite the teasing and bullying, he loved learning. And became fascinated with computers. He often saved money from birthdays and Christmas to buy computers, printers, and other items from Goodwill or online sites like eBay. It was older models and he had to self-teach himself a lot of things. Borrowing what he could from the library and learning the rest online.
Tragedy Struck: When he was 15 years old his mother had gotten him a cake and ice cream. Things that he hadn't always gotten in past birthday years. But she had given him a surprise. A brand new laptop that she'd saved up and bought planning to surprise him. But it turns out she was mugged and killed as the thief got away with the laptop. The guy didn't get far and was arrested, tried, and thrown in jail for life. Connor got the laptop after it was processed weeks later. It was his mother's final gift to him and he'd treasure it always. After that day he never celebrated his birthday not thinking he'd ever feel happy again.
Foster Years: For the next 3 years Connor went into the foster system going in and out of homes quickly. His temper and tendency for fighting still got him in trouble. And some even tried taking his things. Some were broken accidentally but others were ok. Still, it angered him and he didn't stay in any place for too long. He didn't let himself get attached not viewing them as a family.
Inheritance: He inherited his mother's things when he was 18 which had been kept in a storage locker for the past 3 years. And it was then he learned his father was really Oliver Queen. Knowing he couldn't keep all of this he sold most of his mother's things for money as well as most of his own things not keeping much except for his laptop, clothes, and a few gifts his mother had gotten him over the years.
On His Own: For the next year, he lived on the streets. He took odd jobs to keep himself safe. Borrowed wifi from people when necessary to use the net or got to public places like coffee shops, and restaurants although making sure to keep his computer safe from viruses, malware, and other problems. He didn't stay in one town for too long even stealing food or supplies when necessary to stay alive. He wasn't proud of it but he made sure no one caught him.
Gotham City/Meeting Oliver: After several months of being on the streets he relocated to Gotham City and decided he did want to meet his father. After nearly getting beaten up by some overzealous security guards he finally met his father. Oliver didn't believe him at first and that's when Connor broke down in tears. He didn't want his money. He just wanted to get to know him and tried to go but Oliver now believed him.
Queen Residence: He lived there a couple of months getting to know Oliver and thinking he might finally have a chance to go to college. And fulfill his dreams after all. He helped update and design some new security features for the team after learning the family secrets. It wasn't long before he figured out Oliver was Green Arrow and he realized his mot her had been right about his father being a hero. Even if she hadn't known it.
Disappearance: Things took a turn for the worst when the parademons showed up. He had been practicing archery in secret hoping to one day join Team Arrow and his father on the field. He was nowhere near his father's level or Roy's but he was getting there. But on his way home he spotted someone he thought he'd never see again. His mother's killer. He was supposed to be serving life in prison. But he slipped away in the confusion. Now knowing his mother's killer was out there he decided he had to bring him in once more so his mother's spirit could stay at rest and no one else became that monster's next victim. He didn't plan to be gone for so long leaving a note behind. In his haste, the note had fallen into a trash can and would just be thrown away with the rest of its contents.
On The Hunt: Connor went out there solving crimes for several months as The Amber Archer. He was discreet and if anyone noticed the difference in costumes no one cared. Some did call him Green Arrow Junior after knocking his hood off and seeing how young he was. But that didn't stop him from defeating them. He thought he'd feel proud of stopping various muggings, beatings and other crimes. He did but it wasn't enough. It seemed the guy who killed his mother was always one step ahead of him always spotted there but gone before he could find him like a ghost or something.
It's A Trap: After several goose chases and false leads he finally had him tracked down only for it to be a trap meant for his father but Connor had been so blind at finally having a real chance to get him. That he'd walked into a booby-trapped house with explosives. He'd managed to escape in the nick of time only to see his mother's killed gunned down as they didn't want witnesses before disappearing. He wasn't sure which one of his father's enemies had been behind this but he'd make sure he memorized the license plate and the man's face hoping it would help.
Recovery: He managed to get to an alternate medical clinic to help heal him. His suit had been so torn in the explosion and asked for help. They patched him up and not once asked for his identity or tried finding it out themselves. They had been good people. It appeared he'd gotten a few bruises and cuts, and his right arm was sprained. He considered himself lucky it hadn't been worse but he knew he couldn't be out there fighting while he was recovering. He was surprised that his father, Roy or someone else hadn't come after him by now. It just brought back his earlier fears that maybe they were glad he was gone. But he supposed he'd only know for sure.
Hostage: But one day he woke up to find himself in a regular hospital gown. All his things were gone including his arrows and he soon realized this wasn't the same hospital he was in. He'd been moved in his sleep and was now a prisoner. Most likely an enemy of his father's as he'd be dead already if it was someone he'd angered in the past few weeks. There were no windows or air vents to escape from. The only exit was a door that had no door handles. It was a tech-based door and the keypad was on the outside. Which meant he couldn't hack it from in here. He heard voices about two guards walking by saying this would be a trap for Green Arrow that he wouldn't walk away from. And Connor soon realized he'd likely die here or his father might die trying to get to him. He'd already lost his mother. He didn't want to lose his father too. But all he could do was wait and hope his father made it out. Even if he didn't. Then he woke up in another world confused and joined the Rebellion to help out.
