Waking Up To A Surprise (Bruce/Hulk)

[Detective Mike Stone]

Mike shrugged.

"Well I guess it can't be helped. I just don't like gossip but people will talk about us anyway I guess." said Mike.

Mike chuckled as well.

"Well as long as he treats both of us respect I'll be fine And so will he. I've been known to prank a few people. And with my power of invisibility I won't be seen." said Mike.

He grinned mischievously showing his more playful side. A side he didn't show much. He chuckled at Bruce's words.

"Well it would be nice to have someone to back me up once and awhile. But I can fight my own battles. Whether it's teasing or this war. So I don't want you or Hulk treating me like a porcelain doll who can't defend myself. I want a boyfriend not a bodyguard. You got that?" said Mike.

He raised an eyebrow as Bruce said he could be intimidating.

"Really? I'd like to see this intimidating side of yours." said Mike.

He grinned and listened as Bruce tried tor reassure him.

"So I'm not sounding too selfish then? Good." said Mike.

Mike smiled glad to hear Tony was treating him right.

"That's good. And I'm going to make sure everyone here does that. No has to be afraid of you or treat you like a monster. It might take awhile but I'm sure I can do it." said Mike.

He chuckled at Bruce's words.

"Well Hulk was just more forward with his intentions. At least he was gentle. Although I didn't appreciate being used like a teddy bear. I don't mind being hugged but that was a bit much." said Mike.

Mike grinned and nodded.

"I'm glad. I want us to be close as friends and boyfriends. This is just so new to me. I've dated before but nothing too serious. I guess this would be my first serious relationship and I just don't want to screw it up." said Mike.

Mike smirked.

"He'd better. Or he'll have a visit from me." said Mike.

Mike grinned.

"It's just a theory. You've never really studied the Hulk I suppose. I'm guessing you spent so much time trying to get rid of him you haven't really gotten the chance to know much about him." said Mike.

Mike nodded glad Bruce was considering working on it.

"Even if he doesn't have the notes I'm sure you, Tony, and the others could find something to help you both out. Although it might have to wait until this war is over when you have access to more technology." said Mike.

Mike grabbed the water as he ate his sandwich. He sipped from his water occasionally while listening to him.

"Think it's safe for me to sleep in my bed? Or will I wake up in yours again?" asked Mike.

"I don't like gossip either so I'll try to make this more private for you. I know they'll talk about us though, so I'll try my best" Bruce replied, seeing Mike a little more indifferent but Bruce wanted to make Mike know the other man respected his feelings for this relationship. That's what you normally did right? Make this relationship more open-minded and trusting.

"He will. He's known to be a bit off with feelings but I think tony will be fine with keeping it to himself. And I think he'd pay to see you spook people with your powers" Bruce said with a grin as Mike began showing a playful nature. He quite found mike's nature to be very nice and relieving. It was again similar to Tony's attitude. He really enjoyed it a lot.

Bruce raised his hands in fake surrender as Mike made him promise to not treat him like a doll or thing to always protect. He knew Mike was serious but he felt a bit playful himself now that his feelings were more open. "You got it. No babying. I swear. But if you're in real trouble I am going to help you one way or another. But other than that, I won't be a bodyguard, I'll just be there to have your back so you choose to need me"

"You're not. You're being actually understandable and reasonable" Bruce offered reassuringly. Then he listened to mike express more comments that bruce didn't deserve to be treated like a monster, that he should be treated just as well as the rest and mike would make sure of that. Bruce offered a nice kiss on the cheek then responded "Thank you mike. I appreciate it but it's ok. I'm used to it by this point. I'm not annoyed with them being afraid of me. It's when they ignore my pros that's the problem. They can acknowledge my cons, just not ignore the fact that I'm good for something"

"I'm sorry about that. I mean I can't control that part but hopefully hulk can get that the next time he sees you or something" Bruce said, despite not being totally responsible, he felt kinda stupid for hulk treating mike like a teddy bear. Though he smiled as Mike changed the subject to the fact he wanted to make this relationship work and that it was his first serious relationship "It's new for me too. I'm afraid to screw up too but I know you'll let me know if I do anything wrong and I'll be sure to help you out with this. We'll try and make sure this works"

He chuckled as Mike made a little joke about bruce being treated correctly. He then listened to more about the hulk "Yeah, before I met you, I found hulk to be a serious problem, now I know he's just a part of me that I need to accept more. But you're right. Even if I don't have notes, once this war can be over we can find technology and try to help ben and myself" He then ate his own food finally and softly responded as mike asked if it was safe to sleep by himself again "I'm pretty sure going back to your bedroom will be fine. Something tells me hulk's listening to all of this and not want to bother you this time.... That is if he is listening at all"

[Detective Mike Stone]

Mike nodded.

"I guess if they're going to gossip nothing we can do will stop them. I just don't want to have to come into a room and people stop talking. Or people avoid me afraid of upsetting you and Hulk." said Mike.

He grinned.

"Well I guess I'll let you handle Tony then. I would like to be friends with the guy but I've had enough teasing and bullying in high school. I won't tolerate it from anyone even him. So if he can't behave then you'll just have to meet him by yourself. I'll come to meetings but that would be it." said Mike.

He chuckled at his words.

"Really? He's a prankster? I never would have guessed that." said Mike.

Mike nodded glad Bruce was taking him seriously.

"Thank you. I know you'll want to help me out but I can fight my own battles. If I get a few scrapes and bruises I'll deal with it. This is war. And in war people can get hurt. There's nothing we can do about that sadly. But if I do get myself in situation where you see I could get really badly hurt or killed then of course step in if you can. I might have to explain this all to Hulk again too." said Mike.

Mike grinned glad Bruce thought he was being understanding and reasonable. He didn't want to make Bruce upset at all even if there wasn't the Hulk to worry about. Mike frowned and sighed seeing Bruce had just accepted it.

"It's still wrong. Hulk's shown he's good. That he's a hero. Especially with fighting off the Chitauri. You should be hailed as a hero not a monster. You already a hero to me. Not sure if you remember but I said you were my favorite hero when we first met. And that still hasn't changed." said Mike.

He paused grabbing a napkin turning to Bruce.

"Could you give me your autograph please? I always dreamed of meeting you and getting your autograph. I know we're dating but I hope you don't mind me geeking out a little to ask you this." said Mike.

He was blushing a little but he was still excited to meet Bruce. He nodded to Bruce as Bruce spoke about Hulk.

"It's ok. Sure I didn't like being carried in my sleep and treated like that. But at the same time that's probably the longest I've slept in a very long time. I haven't been sleeping much lately. Too many nightmares. Tonight was the first time I didn't have nightmares." said Mike.

Mike nodded as the topic shifted back to their relationship.

"Then we be honest with each other. If something's bothering us especially if it's something one of us said or did. If I did anything to upset you and didn't realize it I'd want you to pull me aside and tell me. I'd want to make it up to you. I'd tell you if something you did was bothering me. But I think I won't have to do that much. I think there is very little you could do to bother me." said Mike.

Mike nodded listening to him.

"Yes. Maybe one day Ben and you will both be cured. Or at least find a way to be able to put you both in control of Thing and the Hulk and allow you to switch back." said Mike.

Mike grinned as Bruce spoke again.

"Alright. Although if I find myself in your room again I reserve the right to say I told you so. At least I know Hulk doesn't want to hurt me." said Mike.

"Well hopefully they won't avoid you. That's not fair to you at all. Gossiping though.. I'll try to see what I can do. I really want to make this a good relationship and we shouldn't have to worry what they're thinking, especially when they show it. It's not fair to you" Bruce agreed, listening to mike. He really hoped people weren't cruel enough to ignore mike like the plaque because of him. Then it would be bruce's fault. It wouldn't be fair to be feared simply because he had powers, he could handle it if they hated him but not mike. Definitely not mike.

"I promise tony won't bother you. I won't let him bother you. If he does, I'll make sure he doesn't do it again. If he misbehaves, I'll fix that" Bruce responded with the tony situation. As much as bruce believed tony would respect mike and be kind, he understood why mike didn't really believe it. Tony was a bit of a egomaniac, not very like his public facade showed but he did have a ego that was big. He then chuckled "Yeah seeing how serious tony is, one would be surprised" Bruce laughed, smiling to show mike that he was being completely sarcastic. Tony could be serious but he was VERY good at being a prankster.

"You might to hulk but not to me. Anything minor is something you can handle, you're absolutely right, you're a big boy. You CAN take care of yourself. If it's severe and a big, important problem I'll do anything I can but I won't keel over if you get a paper cut. Scout's honor" He put his hand across his chest and raised his other hand. He did show a serious sincere smile though, making sure mike was aware he was being taken seriously. He knew that mike wanted to be treated equal, not like a baby.

"I remember. How could I not? It was the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. I really appreciated those words mike, they meant a lot to me" Bruce affectionately smiled then, holding mike's hand and gently squeezing it. He couldn't not remember the first day he met mike. It was when he knew he was really attracted to the other, it was when things began turning up for bruce. When things became less.. well.. insane for him to handle. He then nodded with a amused smile as mike asked for his autograph on a napkin "Not at all. It's nice to have a boyfriend who's also a fan" He then found a pen and wrote his name and added XO's on it on the bottom. He then handed it to mike with a smile.

"Nightmares? How long have you had them?" Bruce asked, genuinely concerned, before shaking his head "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to" He then listened as mike continued about their relationship "Sounds like a plan. We'll be completely honest and tell each other what's bothering us whenever we need to away from everybody. But you bothering me sounds extremely unlikely. You're too nice" He grinned, giving a teasing look. He then nodded about him and ben "Yeah someday. That would be great for me and him. Putting our powers into more control"

He chuckled as mike said that he would tell him if he was in bruce's room once more. He then responded "Well since you're planning to go to bed. I suppose I can give you a good night kiss?" Bruce leaned suggestively to mike, but didn't do anything in case mike wasn't feeling it.

[Detective Mike Stone]

Mike shrugged.

"Well gossip can't be stopped and I'm used to people ignoring me. But I still have you and Fandrall and Volstagg. They're really cool. I know I just met them but it's like having brothers. I was an only child and I always wanted siblings. Those two certainly act like brothers a lot anyway." said Mike.

He grinned.

"Well I hope so. He's not so bad I suppose. Although you know him better than me so I'll take your word on that. Although a few pranks here might liven things up a bit." said Mike.

Mike nodded.

"Next time I see Hulk I'm going to tell him that. I want to be treated as an equal by both of you. I'm going to learn how to fight. I know you both want to keep me safe but I want you to be safe too. Who knows what new tricks Loki has up his sleeve now? He could really hurt you now or worse. I wish you and Hulk's mind were joined somehow. He has all that strength but not access to your intelligence. Or at least being able to think things out before rushing into battle " said Mike.

Mike grinned glad Bruce was happy as he squeezed Bruce's hand back.

"I'm glad. You've always been my favorite hero. I know Hulk was just misunderstood. I admit I've looked up your research as well. It was fascinating. What little that wasn't classified by the goverment anyway." said Mike.

Mike grinned.

"I'm a fan of you both so don't forget that." said Mike.

Mike grinned taking Bruce's autograph and pocketed it.

"The start of my new collection." said Mike.

He blushed realizing he said that out loud.

"I well I kept every news article I could find about you. And every interview. And any copies of your work I could get my hands on. I haven't been to my apartment since everything went crazy but it's probably gone now. And now that I say it out loud I sound a bit obsessed." said Mike.

He blushed again as he paused as Bruce asked abou the nightmares.

"Well being a cop I see a lot of awful things including the alien attack. I usually had the occasional nightmares but they really started after the Chitauri attacked. It got so bad that I hardly slept and I got into an argument with my father. I don't even remember what it was about but the last thing I said to him was that I hated him and he didn't understand me. How could I say that to him? I never got to say I'm sorry." said Mike.

He paused wiping away fresh tears and he sighed.

"The nightmares were mostly about the attack. Some were of my father. Thankfully I don't remember most of them but the few that do really stuck with me. I dreamed that the aliens won. I've dreamed I wasn't able to save people. I've dreamed my father disowned me and tried to kill me. Tonight was the first night in weeks I've had a good night's sleep and no nightmares. I felt safe because I was in Hulk's arms. In your arms." said Mike.

He smiled at that. He liked the feeling. He had been initially afraid of Hulk when he'd woken up but they'd talked and gotten to know each other a little. He grinned at Bruce's words.

"Honesty is best for us. Lies and secrets always come out. I'd be more hurt that you kept something from me than whatever it was you were trying to hide. If you're not comfortable telling me something then say so and I won't push. But don't lie to me ok." said Mike.

Mike nodded.

"I hope one day you and Bruce can switch back and forth at will and be in control. You both deserve that." said Mike.

Mike grinned at Bruce's words.

"You didn't have to ask for that. And hopefully you'll give me more than one." teased Mike.

He grinned leaning forward and kissed Bruce. It was one of the longest kisses he'd ever had as he pulled back to breathe and grinned.

"I'm glad you have those two. They do seem like really nice men. Anyway yeah, we can't avoid gossip but we could still try to be private as we can" Bruce said, smiling in relief that Mike did have people that were especially close to him. He then frowned slightly as mike said he was "used to it" when it came to being ignored. Then again, mike had the same look when he said he was used to being treated like a monster. "Well I don't like that you've been ignored. I don't think that's right. I mean, why would anyone ignore someone like you?" He would let it go if Mike didn't want to talk about it, but he promised not to hide anything, including his words.

"It would. But yeah, leave Tony to me, I'll fix him up" Bruce chuckled about Tony. He then listened more about Mike's determination to be a fighter and not some pointless person. Not that he was pointless before, it was just he didn't really have the know-how to fight. "I know you want me to be safe. I hope Hulk can hear some of this and try to be safe too. I'll definitely try to be more careful"

"Unlike you, the government despises me" Bruce said, his smile disappearing "They want me gone, dead or both" He then sighed, kissing Mike's cheek "Before you, I've been called a freak, a monster, evil, worthless by a LOT of people or have been tricked to do their bidding. When I was younger my mother said I had the whole world with me. But when that accident happened, the world seemed to be against me" He then smiled "Now I have you. And you're more than the world. Screw them, I have you" He smiled wider, squeezing mike's hand tightly.

"Oh good heavens no. I won't ever forget" He grinned. He then was surprised but pleased to hear Mike was a fan who had a collection. He couldn't help but feel so flattered "Are you kidding? You're the only one to have one! It's really nice to have a fan who's interested in me" He had some fans, technically most were children but they were still fans. Mike was the only one who was technically older and collected him, that he knew of at least.

He then frowned as Mike admitted that he had bad dreams out of fear of the attacks and guilt over his missing father. That they either involved being defeated by aliens or harmed by his father. Bruce came over and hugged him, using a hand to wipe the tears that were left "Your dad is out there. He loves you I'm completely sure. If he didn't, you wouldn't worry over him so much. We'll find him Mike. It's not your fault ok?" He then smiled softly about being the one to give him a good sleep in a while "Mike. If you DO need me to help with anything, you're free to tell me. If you want. I'm here"

"Never. I'll always be honest with you. I promise. I won't keep anything from you" Bruce promised. He nodded in agreement about him and Ben finally have control over themselves but then Mike began kissing him. This one was just as great as the rest yet was much longer. Bruce held on gently, allowing their lips to stay together and make the time last. When mike eventually let go, Bruce was left speechless. "I know it's late but I need just one more" Of course it probably wouldn't be just "one more" but hell with it. Bruce gently took Mike and kissed him once more, this one had a little more passion in it. It was definitely determined and loving.

Mike nodded.

"They really are great. I've only known them a short time but they feel like the older brothers I've never had."said Mike.

He nodded.

"I guess all we can do is try our best. I wish we could keep it a secret. I never thought I'd meet you and now you're my boyfriend. I guess it's a bit selfish of me to want to hog you to myself. If we didn't have to do normal thinks like eat and excerise I'd suggest locking the door to your bedroom and never coming out." said Mike.

Mike blushed realizing how possessive he was being.

"Sorry. I do like my privacy but part of me just wants to shout from the rooftops that you're mine. You've made me so happy and we haven't even gone our first date yet.." said Mike.

Mike smiled listening to Bruce and blushed again at Bruce's kinds words.

"You're sweet. But not everyone takes the time to get to know me. Sometimes I just felt invisible even when I wasn't using my power. It's nice to be wanted." said Mike.

Mike nodded.

"Ok you handle Tony. Although if he doesn't behave I might have to die his hair pink or something else more creative." said Mike.

Mike grinned again as Bruce got it.

"Good. You are only human Bruce. Your other side Hulk is the nearly invincible creature but what if someone shot you or broke your arm or something? You could get hurt or killed before you even transformed. I don't want anything to happen to you." said Mike.

Mike shook his head.

"Then they're fools. Then again there's not much of a government left now. They're likely dead or on the run. We help take out Loki again and this time you'll be known as a hero. I'll make sure of that. And so will the others. You helped save the world from an alien invasion and Loki already. Everyone needs to know the true hero you and Hulk are. You're no more of a monster than Ben or the rest of us with powers are." said Mike.

Mike grinned as Bruce said he had him and that was enough.

"Good. When this is over and people are still afraid of you and you want to go then you won't be going along. I'll be going with you. Another city, another country. Even another realm if you wanted. I'd go anywhere as long as I had you." said Mike.

Mike chuckled glad Bruce wouldn't forget he was a fan. He seemed surprised and flattered as Mike mentioned his collection.

"It's the one thing I wished I could have brought Well after my parents of course. I guess I'll just have to start my collection over." said Mike.

Mike grinned.

"Well a one of a kind superhero deserves a one of a kind collection. And I'm more than interested in you." said Mike.

He leaned forward and kissed Bruce on the lips again. He smiled as Bruce hugged him when Mike talked about his nightmares and his father.

"I hope both of my parents are ok. But maybe it would be better if they had died. So they wouldn't be out there hurt and alone or at the mercy of Loki." said Mike.

Mike smiled as he saw Bruce grin again. He liked seeing Bruce smile. It made his own hear flutter each time.

"I know. Thanks Bruce." said Mike.

Mike nodded glad Bruce would be honest with him even though Mike had never doubted him. Mike would be honest with him as well. Then they were kissing again several times as Mike grinned as Bruce pulled him back in for another one. Mike lost count of the kisses or the times just holding him close. He eventually pulled back grinning.

"I changed my mind. I'm not going back to my bedroom. Tonight was the first night in a long time I had good dreams. I woke up feeling safe in Hulk's arms and even when you switched back I still felt safe with you holding me. Could we keep doing that please? Could we share a bed? I'd like to be able to sleep without nightmares or waking up constantly durnig the night. It's like you and Hulk chased the nightmares away and I don't want them to come back." said Mike.

"I'm glad about that" Bruce replied as Mike described Volstagg and Fandral. He was glad the asgardian men were kind to him. It meant Mike wasn't going to be so lonely here. Bruce then listened about Mike wishing he kept it a secret but knew he can't. He shrugged before blushing at Mike's rather admittedly possessive confession. He chuckled softly, rather amused by it. He found it rather flattering to have someone want him to the point of selfishness. It was rare for Bruce. "I'm glad that I make you happy. That's all I want. Yes we can't keep it secret but we can still keep to ourselves. Besides, it's nice to share a bed with someone I care about for once" He kissed Mike's forehead gently after that.

"Well I'll make sure you feel wanted forever if you want me too" Bruce said softly. He didn't mean to sound so insistent on being together for a while but he couldn't help himself either. He felt like he really was falling for Mike. Honestly, Bruce felt more loved than he had in a long time. It was all thanks to a war too, which made it somewhat bittersweet but Bruce didn't care about that.

"Actually that's the best route to take. Tony thankfully has a good sense of humor so maybe he'll get the message if he screws up and you dye his hair" Bruce laughed softly "Besides, it'd be great to take a picture of Tony with pink hair"

He then nodded again as Mike insisted that even though Hulk was practically invincible, Bruce himself wasn't. He WAS human. He could get killed just like the rest of them. Bruce responded "I promise Mike. I will be careful" Bruce smiled softly as Mike called the former government fools. It was rare to see someone stand up for him so passionately besides Tony. He nodded softly, the thought of actually being treated with basic respect meaning the world to him. "I believe you Mike. I really appreciate it. I just want to stop running is all. Basic respect from others was formerly rare for me. Thanks to you, I feel much happier"

Bruce held Mike's hands tightly "I would love you to come with me. I really would. More than anything else" He truly did. He wanted to question it but Bruce had very little things to be happy with. His parents were gone already, his reputation long before ruined, his life constantly on the run. If the world progressed again and he STILL had to run off, it would be great to have company. He then laughed as Mike said he wished he had his collection but now had to start over "Hey you don't need a collection anymore" He winked and pointed to himself playfully

Bruce blushed as Mike admitted he was more than interested and allowed Mike to kiss him again. He then held onto Mike as he confessed he wished his parents were okay yet he felt that it was best that they were dead. That it was awful to be out there or captured. "With luck we'll find them. If they're gone then we'll make Loki pay for what he's done" Bruce assured softly. He smiled again as Mike replied that he understood that Bruce was here.

Suddenly Bruce's mind felt focused completely on kissing Mike. Each kiss was better than the last. Bruce couldn't help but feel so greedy and want more each time. He eventually stopped, despite his inner self being completely disappointed and listened to mike. He felt his heart skip a beat as Mike asked to stay with him in bed from now on. That mike felt safer with Bruce(And hulk) there. That it was something he didn't feel in a long time. "Of course we can, Mike. I'd love for you to stay with me" Bruce held Mike's hand and gently began to get up to guide Mike to his room.

Mike grinned.

"Having the three of you makes me it easier to be here. If my family and old friends are gone I'm glad I'm not alone here." said Mike.

Mike chuckled as Bruce blushed and then he spoke to him.

"I know. I guess I'm conflicted. I want to hog you to myself but I also want to shout to the world that we're dating. As long as I have you everything else will be ok." said Mike.

Mike grinned again at Bruce's words.

"I'd like that. I know you've only known me a day but after gathering my collection and following you wherever I could I feel like I known you for a lot longer. But knowing about someone is different than knowing them and I'm glad I finally got to meet you. I don't want anyone else but you. And with this war there's no guarantees. Forever for us could be years, a few months, or even a few days. But however long I have with you will be the best time of my life." said Mike.

Mike grinned.

"Maybe I'll have to play more pranks than ones on just Tony. Especially if someone insults you." said Mike.

Mike was very protective of those he cared about. He chuckled as Bruce said it'd be fun to take a picture.

"I'll definitely make sure to leave a camera or something inside so even if he tries to hide it then we can proof I did it." said Mike.

Mike nodded as Bruce promised to be careful.

"That's all I can ask for. Part of me just wants to lock everyone up here especially you Volstagg and Fandrall. I don't want to lose anyone else. I don't want to lose you. But I know we can't let Loki get away with it." said Mike.

Mike smiled at him.

"Then perhaps we just need to leave Earth. Asgard's a realm with super strong guys and creatures. I'm sure Thor could help us find a place there or in another realm altogether. Exploring a new world where we could live in peace does sound kind of fun. And it's not like if Hulk was ever needed again we couldn't be called back by Thor or something." said Mike.

Mike grinned at him.

"I guess not. I probably couldn't live up to my old collection anyway. Or you. I have the real thing now after all." said Mike.

Mike nodded as he spoke to him.

"I hope we find them but I will still grieve for them. Perhaps we should consider making a monument here to the ones we lost. If we find them that will be a blessing. But we can't sit here forever hoping to find them one day. Even if some of them are alive some of us may end up disappointed. So it's better to think they're all gone and be surprised later when we're proven wrong. At least that's how I think about it. What about you? You have family out there somewhere? Parents or siblings? Uncles, aunts or cousins? Or some friends out there?" asked Mike.

Mike grinned as they were kissing again. He then grinned at him.

"Thank you." said Mike.

He grinned as Bruce grabbed him and pulled him from the chair.

"Ready to have me in your arms already are you?" asked Mike, teasing him.

"You're definitely not alone. I promise that you'll never be alone" Bruce promised. He wanted Mike to truly believe those words. He chuckled as Mike confessed that he both wanted privacy with bruce but also to announce himself to the world. "I get it, you're just excited about this and so am I. I understand and you're probably not the only one who feels this way" He was flattered overall with this.

Bruce listened and nodded as Mike explained the differences he had since meeting bruce and how glad he was to have him around. Bruce smiled and held Mike's hands "In a way you've made my life brighter. I'm glad that I met you too and that we are going to start this relationship. I don't want anyone else but you either" He listened to more of mike's chat and smiled as Mike got a bit protective of him "Now don't be like that, I can stand up to a few mean words" He then chuckled as Mike agreed to have a camera so Tony wouldn't get away with hiding the prank "Brilliant. The more pictures the better the evidence. Do it when Tony's asleep also"

"No. No we can't. And even if you did lock us up from any danger, even if Loki loses, it wouldn't solve the problem. But I know and understand. I'd kill for the ones I care about, you, Tony and among others. I can't let this god get away with it. I just can't. It's taken a lot of people to die and get hurt to get to that damned throne of his" Bruce wasn't angry but bitterness was in his tone. He was more disturbed than angry. Why did Loki need to attack earth again? With enough power, he could've left them alone and conquer asgard. But then that was selfishness talking.

"Asgard doesn't sound bad at all. From what Thor told me, it's got a lot of technology my scientist side will be glad to inspect and work on" Bruce chuckled "My curiosity never left after all" He then sighed "A new life away from it all if people still hate me will be a welcome relief. Especially if I had you beside me" He then beamed with some pride as Mike said he couldn't compete with the real him "Hey I can give you all the knowledge you need and.. well.. maybe eventually give you what you want" He blushed and coughed, deliberately trying to find the next subject. Thankfully it did and he listened to mike suggest honoring the dead by a monument and he smiled at that. Then he was asked about his family and he shook his head sadly "My parents died years ago, before I was the hulk, and the rest of my family either turned against me or didn't even know I existed" He sighed, a dreadful sense of loneliness coming to him again.

He then blushed sheepishly with a rather dorky grin as Mike called him out on being ready to have him in his arms. Bruce insisted slightly by pulling him a bit more. He responded "So I'm excited and happy, sue me"

Mike smiled at the words.

"I don't want to be alone. You, Fandrall and Volstagg could be all I have left. This is still so new. And the guys feel like the brothers I never had. I've only been here a day and I'm glad I met the three of you. But especially you." said Mike.

Mike nodded.

"At least we're on the same page." said Mike.

He grinned again hearing he'd made Bruce's life brighter.

"Really? I made it brighter?" asked Mike.

Mike chuckled.

"But I don't want anyone to be mean to you. You're a hero and a great scientist. You deserve to be treated like one. If only the world could see you as I see you. On second thought maybe not exactly or I'd have the whole world wanting you like I do." said Mike.

Mike nodded.

"Of course I will. Maybe we can even leave some scattered around the house for everyone to see. While keeping the originals for ourselves of course." said Mike.

Mike sighed.

"I know. I always dreamed of meeting you and now not have I met you. But we're dating. I lost my collection, maybe my friends and family and everything else. I can't lose you too." said Mike.

Mike shrugged.

"If there's anything left of the old Asgard. Loki could have changed things or destroyed a lot of it. Like he did here." said Mike.

Mike chuckled.

"I doubt it ever would." said Mike.

Mike nodded.

"There isn't much left of my old life here. My home's probably gone and maybe everyone I knew. So there might be anything left for me to go back to if when we end this war. Starting over would be good for both of us." said Mike.

Mike chuckled again seeing Bruce blush.

"I look forward to whatever you have to teach me." said Mike.

Mike sighed at that as he held Bruce closer.

"No matter what we'll always have each other." said Mike.

Mike chuckled as he spoke again.

"I'm happy as well." said Mike.

Bruce held Mike's hands and gave a empathetic grin as Mike exclaimed he didn't want to be alone. He assured "Don't worry. I'm here and I won't leave you alone, ever" Bruce smiled also as Mike replied they were both on the same page. He was glad they were. He nodded at Mike's question at the life made brighter comment "Yes. You really did Mike. Before you, I really felt isolated. I felt like I didn't belong. But you are helping me realize I deserve to be happy"

"Mike, you're too sweet, but I can handle a couple jerks here and there. It is nice to have support but don't worry too much about me" Bruce replied assuringly. He then blushed a little, chuckling as Mike replied with a small flirty joke. Oh he was definitely liking this relationship more and more as it went on. He was a bit awkward to say he loved him so quickly, so bruce was trying to be more observant with the relationship but Bruce definitely felt like he was falling for Mike.

"Well what do you know? You're more of a genius than I am!" Bruce laughed as Mike continued talking about the prank. He focused quickly on the different conversation of fear of Loki separating them or something else happening to bruce "Mike, I promise. One way or another, I'll always come back for you. I care about you too damn much" He squeezed the man's hands before replying about Asgard "No doubt he changed it. He must have. I hope not too badly, like he did here. I mean, if I have to run off with you and all" He chuckled as Mike agreed that curiosity never changed in him. It made him who he was after all, for better or worse.

"It'd be best to start over anyway. We can make our life the way we want it to be" Bruce agreed about possibly starting fresh. He liked the sound of that. He then blushed more as Mike responded to his blushing. He then smiled as Mike said he was happy and took the younger man's hand to his bedroom, holding him close as they walked there.

Mike smiled as Bruce held his hand as he felt reassured.

"I believe you. I know you won't ever leave me. At least not by choice." said Mike.

Mike nodded.

"Then I'm glad I could help you even in a small way." said Mike.

Mike frowned.

"But you shouldn't have to. They should accept you as the hero you are." said Mike.

Mike chuckled.

"That's debatable but I'm glad you're pleased." said Mike.

Mike grinned.

"I know you will. Just as I'll always come back for you." said Mike.

Mike shrugged.

"I'd live in a card box if it meant I could be with you." said Mike, saying it so genuinely and passionately you'd have no doubt he meant it.

Mike nodded.

"And we can make things better." said Mike.

Mike took Bruce's hand as they walked back towards his bedroom. No. Their bedroom.

"I think I may have to just move in with you. After all Hulk may just carry me in my sleep anyway again. Better to give up my room to someone else." said Mike.
