Loki's headcanons go here
1. While Loki truly despises Odin, he does not hate Thor as a lot of people assume he does. He still loves Thor and some deep part of him wishes reconciliation with Thor. But he doesn't want to appear weak to his enemies because Thor himself is now his enemy. Being weak is Loki's worst thing to be. Being concerned over him is somewhat frowned upon in the villain group and is conflicting. Why is frigga the exception to this double-standard loki has? Because she's a woman, she's influenced him positively, Loki is more comfortable loving her than anyone else and it's easier(To him) to love a female relation of any kind than a male one.
2. Speaking of Frigga, Loki loves her unconditionally. As Tom Hiddleston(The actor of said character) stated "They have a artistic relationship. It was actually her who taught Loki magic at a young age and they are strong in bond" Loki although fearing she may not love him back, knew her role in Thor which was supportive and kind. Frigga was the one who taught Loki magic, the one who gave him the most attention and the one who didn't make fun of him or insult his strengths. While Odin was a favoring, neglective sort of parent to Loki, Frigga wasn't. She loved her two sons equally and although she was extremely happy Thor returned, it's because well Thor is her son too, why wouldn't she be happy? She's not favoring anyone, she's equalizing the love and attention as she always did. Although Loki fears that may not be the case.
3. Now unto magic. Loki not only uses it for his purposes, he genuinely loves magic. It was his tool/weapon/comeback to those who mocked or teased him during his youth, it was his strong sort of comfort when no-one else would be there for him, it's a mysterious source that gives Loki's curiosity the satisfaction it needs. Loki wishes to learn more and give more to this power he possesses, so he can make himself more powerful, more experienced and more importantly, more useful. He has a personal love for it because he learned it from his mother, and it's just interesting for him to learn.
4. Odin as stated before was a favoring parent, so it was Thor who got everything first. His training, his horse, his own room, a private servant or two, weapons and so on. It made Loki extremely jealous but Thor and he were best friends and brothers, so he chose not to say anything and he didn't have to, Thor didn't want the servants or the own room of his(At the time Odin offered Thor his own room, Thor and Loki were sharing one) because he wanted to be closer to his baby brother. The weapons that Thor had no interest in he gave to loki and Thor with the help of Frigga gave Loki a horse around Loki's 14th birthday. It's why Loki's so conflicted in his feelings of hatred toward Thor now. Because Thor wasn't always seen to him as a arrogant prick.
5. Loki's racist towards humans, most of the time. He feels them as arrogant, selfish, idiotic, pig-headed, hypocritical, pathetic, insolent fools. They are so dependent and stupid that they couldn't be trusted with a glass vase. The only exceptions to this is magicians, human-like aliens, human allies of his and children. Magicians are ones Loki takes seriously, because magic is a tool he himself uses. Aliens are, well, not of the same world as earth humans are. And children are young, they can learn good or bad from examples. He doesn't hate children at all, he is quite fond of them and their company. It's far more tolerable than a adult. Sure he has problems admitting concern for them but he will not hesitate in admitting a feeling of good will towards them. Also, human allies who respect him, befriend him with their charm or potential or catch his interest/concern/compassion like Evan and Johnny did will be a loophole/exception according to Loki himself. Yes he is racist towards humans but not ALL of the human race he hates, Evan, Johnny, his allies in his army and children are complete justified exceptions for him.
6. Loki's a bookworm. He loves books. He will read them anytime he wishes. His favorite genres are dramas and tradegy. His favorite book of all time? Macbeth
7. Loki loves meat. He may be thin but he always will enjoy a hot dog or a burger whenever he feels like it. Although he also loves veggies, meat is especially good in his book.
8. Loki does not take threats to consideration. He feels that unless someone can do the action as well as the talk, there is no point of taking them seriously. He will simply reply with a snarky tone, threaten back, or just laugh. It's pointless to shred someone if they don't have the ability to fight back. Insults however will cause Loki's blood to boil, mostly because the person is making a effort to offend him. How do you offend Loki? Questioning his power, mocking his status, discrimating againist him simply because he's a magician or a god, insulting his intelligence, laughing at his authority, calling him "selfish" or threatening the few people he holds close to him. He hates being questioned for being smart especially, because he is incredibly smart and takes pride in it.
9. Loki's a sarcastic ass sometimes. He's got a smart mouth and won't hesitate to use it anytime he wishes. His sarcasm and wit are extremely well-used and he usually does this to render someone annoyed or speechless. It's part of his amusement and humor to be sarcastic or sardonic to someone else.
10. He actually likes Tony Stark, though he's a enemy, he feels the mortal one of the only ones that amused him or actually talked the talk and walked the walk. It's interesting to Loki someone like Stark exists. Even though Loki wishes to kill him and the two are sworn enemies due to tony's rebellion against him.
11. He's a pretty damn good romantic when given the chance. He cleans up well, knows how to impress a woman and makes sure to say the right things. He's also a extremely charismatic, charming, seductive, convincing lover.
12. Loki's worst fear is failure. It's been creeping behind him for so long and still creeps behind him. Failure means he wasn't smart or powerful enough. Failure cost him his father's approval, cost him his life, cost him a chance to see his mother's approval, cost him everything he held dear.
13. Don't mention his adoption. He HATES that. He hates that he's not Thor's real brother. That his life was a complete story. His past being some big lie. His true blood familiy being in a race of monsters that also abandoned him at a tender age. It's a tender spot. The only one who can mention this at all or even discuss about it, or even understand it at all, is his brother Evan.
14. Finally, loki's temper when done just right is a thousand times worse than Hulk's. I'm dead serious. As the insult chart above shows you, many insults/things can get him angry. However his most important things to protect above all else, even above his traits, are his loved ones. Harm any of them and he will get extremely angry. He will indeed act like the acclaimed monster people assume him to be. You seriously do not want to mess with him. Loki is a very scary person when need be.
