Not Just An Ordinary Day (Arion, Richard, Loki)

[Rowan/Evan Thompson]

(ooc: January 6th. Morning.)

Evan smiled as he walked into the village. The palace had enough supplies but now that he had his freedom he wanted to see more than just the palace. Even just for a few hours. Although he had palace guards with him to keep him safe. Despite his protests he could protect himself Loki was adamant on him having guards. So Evan eventually gave in and let Loki send a few guards with him. Evan smiled as he grabbed an apple from a cart paying the merchant with some gold as he made his way around. He was walking around when he suddenly heard a familiar voice and froze. It was Arion's voice.

"It couldn't be. He's should be in Jotunheim. I must be hearing things." thought Evan.

But he couldn't ignore the voice as he turned around the corner spying a man talking with another merchant.

"No. I must be hallucinating or something. There's no way it could be him." thought Evan.

He paused turning to go knocking over a vase as it shattered. Evan gasped handing some gold to the merchant and taking off into a run. His guards right behind him.

"Your highness! Slow down!" said one of the guards.

Tears were flowing down Evan's face as he kept running. He wanted to forget his old life as a Frost Giant. It had brought him nothing but pain. The few moments of happiness he had with Arion had been taken by his father. If that was Arion he didn't want to see him. He paused realizing he'd lost his guards and chuckled.

"Guess I was too fast for them. Guess I'll be heading back to the palace." said Evan.

He paused as he ran right into someone. He frowned glaring at him.

"Hey! Watch where you're go-"

He trailed off realizing it was Arion. How had he gotten here so fast? He glared at him.

"Stay away. Just leave me alone." said Evan.

He backed away intending to run again. He wasn't far from the palace. There would be more guards and Loki and the others to help him. He just had to get out of here. But he was surprised by what happened next as he was pulled into a hug.

[Arion]

The frost giants told him that he shouldn't be the provider for Rowan, for he was not wise or strong enough to be a advisor or protector. But Arion was too damn stubborn for something like that and he snuck to hear during a certain meeting that they were looking for a volunteer to be rowan's protector and Arion quickly jumped at the opportunity. He was told he would have to look like a asgardian but Arion insisted and so he became a asgardian and was sent on his way with relunctance and arion swore to be good for their royal highness.

Now, the reason for all this was because Evan and he grew up as very good friends before Laufey forbade them to be together. Arion was admittedly young, assumingly a teen, so he couldn't really say no despite his need to say it and so his father and he were forbidden from the prince's company and arion never saw Rowan again. He regretted his actions ever since, not being able to stop it, and now he had his chance to give rowan a ability to be friends with him again. Which was why in the asgardian village he went searching for the prince. He went around and kept asking people if they saw him before he went to a young girl

"Pardon me young lady have you seen someone who calls himself Evan?" Arion, during his sneakage in the meeting, was aware that rowan changed his name

"The royal majesty?" The little girl said with shock and amusement "Why he's right there, silly! But I'd be careful, those guards look scary"

"Thank you young lady" Arion replied before shouting at the top of his lungs "Evan! Evan! Rowan! It's me!" When Evan did not answer, he frowned assuming he was wrong and felt angry that the little girl didn't tell him the truth. So he went to a different merchant and asked "Do you know the royal highness evan? I'm looking for..." It turned out the little girl was actually right as seen as a human-looking man dropped a vase and ran. Arion called "Evan! Wait!" He then ran after him, passing the guards and following evan's trail. He kept running eventually bumping into contact with the very man he wanted to find.

"Evan! It's me! Arion! I know I look odd but..." Arion began but his heart shattered when evan told him to go away and leave him be. "W-what? Why? I did that before and look what happened. I lost my own friend. I won't let it happen!" He then pulled Evan into a tight hug and tears were threatening to spill across his face "No. I'm not leaving you alone. Not again. I didn't come all this way just to say hello. I'm here to stay evan. I'm your friend, I should've acted like this a long time ago"

[Rowan/Evan Thompson]

Evan paused at his words pushing him back.

"Why can't you just leave me alone? Isn't it bad enough you threw away our friendship like it was nothing? You think finding me after all these years and saying sorry will fix it?" said Evan.

He was angry, hurt, and confused. Even though a part of him really did miss Arion he was hurt too much. Arion hadn't just been his friend. He'd been the first person to ever show him kindness and he took it away. Made him feel like nothing.

"Why should I believe you? This is probably some trick to capture me and make me rule from Joutenheim isn't it. Well you can tell them I'm ruling from Asgard or they'll have to deal with my brother." said Evan.

That had to be it. There's no way Arion could be here from him.

[Arion]

Arion was not surprised that his own cowardliness of his life being taken would cost him Evan's trust. So he didn't really try to allow Evan's shove away from him effect him, yet the pain of evan's rejection was there and arion just hugged his arms out of his own hurt. He turned to Evan aware that he too was hurting but from years of seperation and neglect. "Because leaving you alone from the start was incredibly wrong of me to do. I was afraid of my life because... your father threatened to kill me and my father if he ever saw me near you. I didn't want to make it seem like that our memories together meant nothing but I was a coward and a fool" Tears streamed, the pain of guilt coursing through his veins "No. I do not expect you to forgive me. I came not for that. I came to set things right with us. You can hate me all you like but I refuse to leave. I'm staying. I came here for you. I came to fix what I myself am responsible for breaking" Arion blamed himself but he knew the true person responsible was laufey, yet he was aware that if arion really did care, he would've resisted a bit more but he didn't. Arion knew that and wanted to make up for it.

"It's not. The ambassadors are incredibly aware of Loki's power. They feared for your safety and wanted to send a guardian and advisor from jotunheim to protect you when Loki can't" Arion responded, looking down as Evan's eyes showed nothing more than hatred and bitterness. It was hard to look at evan face to face, because evan was obviously so angry. He had every right to be. But Arion couldn't stop the pain that was entering his body. It was as if evan's words were poison. Arion gulped and responded "Although I am shocked to now know loki is your brother I will not ask why. It is none of my business and frankly I do not want to bother with that" He hesitantly looked up and wiped the tears from his face "I want to bother with what's obviously wrong. I hurt you, this I am aware of, and for years I've wanted to reconcile. However your father, your supposed death then your supposed return stopped me. Am I making a excuse? I do not want to think so but I still can understand if you think it is one"

Arion looked down again and responded "Evan. I have seriously came to fix the bridge that my cowardliness and fear of death have destroyed. I cannot prove it to you other than willingly take the body of a asgardian man and travel by myself. If you still wish me away, take me back to jotunheim but do not ask me to leave because I will not"

[Rowan/Evan Thompson]

Evan listened to Arion.

"I told you that. I begged you to stay friends with me and you wouldn't. You left me all alone with him. But you also taught me a lesson. The world's a cruel place and the only one you can really count on is yourself." said Evan.

He paused at his words and frowned.

"I know he threatened you. You let your fear dictate your life. You were the only good part of my life but you tossed me aside like garbage. I've have brief moments of happiness over the years but nothing lasted. I never really could make friends. And the few boyfriends I had usually dumped me especially after the first date. I've finally found two people here who care about me. A real friend. And my brother. I don't want to see you." said Evan.

Evan paused at him with a frown.

"You don't expect me to forgive you but you want to fix what's between us. That's flawed logic. I've been hurt too many times. By you. By Laufey. By men and women on Earth who I thought loved me. My heart can't take it anymore." said Evan.

Evan scoffed at that.

"Feared for my safety? I've been living on Earth for years. I can take care of myself. I certainly don't need an ex-friend trying to play bodyguard. I'd rather be guarded by Hellhounds. At least I expect them to try to kill me." said Evan.

Evan glared at him.

"He's Laufey's son. Just like me. I'm surprised the Frost Giants don't know about it. It's well known in Asgard anyway. Odin stole him when he was little. Well Odin thought he'd been abandoned but he basically stole my brother.. The loss of my brother broke my mother's heart and she died shortly after she had me. My father treated me like dirt after that. I never got the chance to have a family thanks to Odin and Laufey. After everything I've been through I have finally have people who care about me. I don't need you anymore." said Evan.

He glared at him and laughed bitterly.

"Well good for you. You feel guilty for abandoning me and letting my father treat me like crap. A shame you couldn't have felt this way much sooner. I might have forgiven you back when I was a kid." said Evan.

Evan paused listening to him as he said he took the form of an Asgardian. He paled as he said if he wanted him to go to take him back. Evan trembled shaking his head showing his fear.

"No. I won't go back there. I can't go back there. Just leave me alone!" said Evan.

He turned and ran down the alley. He thought he was safe until someone grabbed him from behind.

"Arion let me go. I said I don't want to talk to-"

He stopped hearing an unfamiliar chuckle.

"Sorry kid. You're thinking of someone else. I'm sure Loki may pay a lot for your safe return. But he killed my family so I think I'll kill his instead." said the man.

Evan paled struggling in his captor's grasp.

"No. Stop." said Evan.

The man chuckled and shoved a sword into his chest before pulling it out.

"In a matter of minutes you'll bleed out. And I'll finally have my revenge." said the man.

Suddenly Evan hears a loud thunk as his captor drops him as Evan falls to the ground clutching his chest in pain trying to stop the bleeding. Someone had saved him? Who was it?

(ooc: couldn't resist an attack and Arion riding to the rescue earning evan's trust in the process. xd)

[Arion]

(OCC: All good to me. lol. Perhaps we can have them later just go to the medical room to help his bleeding with only nurses getting involved and stuff? Also sorry for Arion's defense dialogue, I wanted him to do more than just allow Evan to snap at him)

Arion's expression was hurt but somewhat aware that Evan's rejection of him was all his fault. Arion had suffered the guilt for years, evan's words made it so much worse. Arion's eyes shut in despair, not saying anything to defend himself this time. He didn't really have anything to say. Especially since he was the one that taught Evan that the world was cruel and that only yourself was the person to depend on. Arion wanted to say something but Evan snapped that he was aware of Laufey's rule but the fact that Arion didn't even bother to try was more hurtful than anything. That Evan suffered only small bouts of happiness in his life and that only Loki and some unknown friend were the ones to care. "You're right. I allowed my fear to control me. I could've done something. I could've resisted. I had power that I could've used. I am not rejecting this information Evan. I have hurt you. I've known that for my whole life" He responded bitterly

"Perhaps it is flawed logic. Perhaps it is me wanting you to willingly forgive me instead of just outright demanding it from you. I mean that I wish for you to be friends with me again, to fix the bridge that was broken. Forgiveness has nothing to do with that but if it comes, then it comes. That is what I mean" Arion said softly, looking down humbly. Evan's shouts and calls of hatred were affecting him more than he personally liked but maybe he was asking for it when he was foolish enough to think he could say sorry now. "So you just took all your trust and forgiveness out of your heart then?" Arion dared, raising a shocked eyebrow

"You may mock them but it is true. When they heard of your return, the people celebrated a tad. Laufey may have not cared about you but many others did. It was private love yes but love nonetheless. They didn't want me to go because I wasn't worthy in their eyes, so you're not the only one who thinks I'm not capable of such a thing" Arion snapped, evan's bitterness starting to anger him now. Although he didn't expect to be nice with evan, arion was not going to allow every insult to slide past him. "Well joy. Your brother is one of us. How we did not know this previously is beyond me also but like I said, you and Loki's relation is nothing to me. I'm only here for you. Your brother can spit at me and call me a beast and I wouldn't care. You not needing me is something more important" Arion said bitterly, looks of both defeat and agony on his face. Evan had no idea how bad he felt about all those years. No idea. Arion's tears started continuing as Evan just laughed off his guilt like it was nothing to him.

Arion couldn't take it anymore, he eventually snapped as loud as he could "I've felt this way since the very beginning! Either you're blind, ignorant or both but I felt guilty for years! Your words do no help! I have been ridiculed by you and although I deserve it, don't you DARE assume that I felt perfectly fine and dandy with rejecting the years we shared. I only pretended to look fine because your father is much more intimidating than he should be allowed! Hate me all you damn please, but know that ever since that day where we went our seperate ways as children I have felt the poison of guilt! Go ahead. Hate me. I'm not leaving until my sins have been fixed"

Arion then saw Evan pale up and run away from him again. Arion just stood there, feeling emotionally and physically drained. He couldn't believe that he screwed up so much, to have his former friend go off and leave him there. Arion looked down at his pale hands and responded sorrowfully "Maybe evan is right. Maybe it is too late. I really did screw up. Well, perhaps I should just tell the ambassadors the bad news" He then sighed and turned to leave but he felt that running away was something he did in the past. Something he didn't want to do. So with a angry determination, Arion ran to follow Evan, only to find someone stabbing him. Arion's rage for the deed outweighed his need to go report it, and he charged at the captor, knocking him hard on the head. The captor released Evan and Arion punched the captor again, wrestling him to the ground.

"Stay away from him do you hear me?! You ever come near his highness again, I will not hesitate to cut you open like a fish!" Arion threatened. The captor tried to hit Arion but the other just choked him, arion's rage caused him to deliberately choke the man to death. Once the man appeared lifeless, Arion only looked at the body before tossing it away. He didn't care about that. He turned to see Evan bleeding and, despite the fight they had, ran over and tried to help stop the bleeding. "It's really bad evan. We need to get you to someplace to heal! Are there any more of those guards that can go take us there? Or you there if you really don't want me to come along?" He looked to the wound and cursed out "Damned fiend. May he suffer in hell for doing this to you, evan. That no-good...." He turned to evan and sighed "I can't stay away Evan. I know you don't want my help but I just don't want to leave you alone anymore"

[Rowan/Evan Thompson]

Arion's words rang in Evan's ears. He had felt guilty. At least he knew he wasn't completely heartless. But that didn't change the fact Arion had abandoned him when he needed him the most. Evan saw Arion took care of his attacker but he felt he was losing a lot of blood. He paused looking at Arion and found himself chuckling bitterly and he coughed.

"I wanted you to come back for so long. I've been hurt so much. By my father. By you. By people on Earth. I just don't know if I have it in me to forgive you. Even though part of me wants to. But I'm afraid. Afraid of getting hurt again. I can see you tortured yourself anymore than I or my father could. But that didn't change that you let my father split us up. I would have done anything to keep you as my friend. Met in secret. Left for Earth sooner. Killed my father if I had to. But you walked away. You left me all alone. All alone." said Evan.

He whimpered as he started to sob. The pain internal and external was getting to him. 

"The guards are gone. They're probably still searching for me. Or the guy who attacked me probably killed them or lured them away further. I don't know how much time I have. I don't know if I'd even make it back to the palace. If this is the last time I get to see you then I want to make it memorable." said Evan.

He sat up hugging Arion tightly.

"I missed you so much. I hate you and I like you at the same time. If I don't make it promise me you'll look after Loki. He'll need someone to watch his back. To protect him." said Evan.

He paused looking at him and smiled. This could be their last moments together and he didn't want to hold a grudge anymore. He paused looking at Arion raising his hand to touch Arion's face.

"I will never forget what you did to me Arion. But I realized I don't want to hate you. Not anymore. I forgive you Arion. I guess this is goodbye. Take care my old friend." said Evan.

He closed his eyes as his hand dropped to the ground. He had passed out.

(ooc: we could time skip to the palace in the next post. Arion could run, teleport, whatever to get him help. and then evan could wake up surprised and they could talk more. xd)

[Arion]

(OCC: Sure no worries)

Arion listened as Evan spoke about how afraid he was since he has been pushed around and abused by many people, including Arion himself. He only listened and tried his sincere hardest to understand how it was on Evan's side. That despite the sincerity, arion's apologies were hard to accept after all these years. That despite being aware of Arion's life being at risk, it didn't change the fact Arion didn't bother to try and make the relationship between them work. Arion's heart sank with acknowledgement, Evan was absolutely right. Nothing would change the fact that Arion just left and didn't bother. That broke Arion's heart, sure he was aware he was abandoning him but Evan pointed out a flaw Arion didn't focus on. The fact that Arion just quit. That he just ran away like a coward. And as Evan sobbed, so did he but it was much quieter. "You're right evan. I was very cowardly. I now see completely that your anger is because I just didn't bother trying. But my fear was the reason why I didn't bother. I was a fool. I was terrible to you to do such a thing but I never wanted it to be this way. I know you're afraid to forgive and that it's hard but I will do anything for you to forgive me. I will make it up to you. This I promise"

He nodded sorrowfully as Evan explained the guards situation, but couldn't help but still want to find them. However Evan suddenly hugged him and arion didn't refuse it "I missed you more than anything" Arion sobbed as he hugged the other tightly, refusing to let go. When he heard Evan liked him as well as hated him, he responded "You give me hope then, that one day we will be friends again. Not now but one day we will become close and when that day comes, I will not run away that time" He then nodded both out of assurance and concern "Yes, Evan. I swear on my life that I will be forever faithful and loyal to your brother. Loki will be safe"

When evan eventually held onto him and touched his face, it was then the danger bells were ringing. Evan was mortally wounded and needed help before it was too late. Yet Arion couldn't help but hang onto every word his old friend said. When he heard that despite not forgetting what happened, Evan was going to not hold a grudge and forgave Arion, tears of sorrow, joy and relief flowed and the determination to take advantage of this forgiveness spread across his veins. However he finally spoke as Evan passed out "Evan! Evan no! You will not die! Evan, please! You cannot leave this life! Loki...." He then realized he needed to go now and get help. He picked up his friend and instantly ran off to the palace. He knew that it was the largest part of the kingdom, as evident to the large golden castle. He then was halted by two guards.

"Halt! You will not pass!" One guard said

"Please, you misunderstand! The prince evan is badly wounded. He has been attacked. I'm here to get him help" Arion replied, begging

The second guard looked over and immediately panicked "You idiot, he's clearly holding the royal majesty evan. Do you know how important he is to our king?"

The first guard relooked and gasped "By the norns, you're right. Quickly, bring the prince! You, trya, go get some nurses!" The second guard ran as fast as he could. The first guard looked at arion and responded "You sir are a hero. Now come with me. Make sure to keep his majesty well-guarded. Now tell me what happened?"

As they went inside, nurses came and took Evan to get treated. Meanwhile Arion explained the situation to the first guard and eventually came to the end of his story "And that's why I am here. My friend is in grave danger. I have killed his attempted assassin but I fear they may be more. I have come here to be his personal guard"

"Well all you have told me must be told to Loki, the royal king. It is not my place to deny or accept your request. You will remain in the healing room until I or someone else comes to you to see the king, if he wishes you to be here. We will see. Though personally for saving prince evan's life, I think he will be fine with this. But we will see" The first guard bowed before running off to go to talk to Loki. Arion gulped and paced before a nurse responded "Mister. You can come in if you wish to see the prince. I feel he'd be glad to talk to the man who saved his life"

"Yes. Thank you madame" Arion responded, then he went right in and took a seat next to evan's bedside. "Evan?" He asked, hoping evan would wake up

[Rowan/Evan Thompson]

Evan moaned as he woke up. He was only wearing a pair of red boxers with his chest bandaged up thanks to the nurses.

"What a crazy dream. Ow!" said Evan.

He paused wincing as his chest still hurt and it was bandaged up. He paused looking up seeing Arion as it all came back. Arion showing up, the attack, and even Evan forgiving him. Evan sobbed at seeing him.

"You're really here. It wasn't a dream. I have you back." said Evan.

He paused hugging Arion before gasping in pain as he lay back down.

"Ow. Any idea who attacked me?" asked Evan.

He paused looking over seeing his tattered shirt and frowned.

"That was my favorite shirt. And now it's ruined." said Evan.

[Arion]

Arion was both relieved and worried as Evan woke up. Now that he was hurting, Arion wanted to make sure he did everything to make his friend comfortable. He then smiled warmly as Evan sobbed at the sight of him, his head lowered before being hugged and he softly hugged back before Evan retreated. "You mustn't be so risky with your injuries, evan. Everything is alright now. You are safe" He sighed softly "And I will make sure of it this time"

He then shook his head as evan asked if he had any idea who attacked him "Not a clue. The man was well disguised. But he was someone who wanted revenge of some sort against your brother. I heard a little of what he said. But I am just as clueless as you are" He growled "Damn me. I should've been there sooner. Damn me. Damnit" He growled again, clenching his fist "It is a good thing I strangled him. I was too determined to make sure the fool did not live. But maybe that is the problem now. Now that the villain is dead, we won't get answers" He sighed sadly, annoyed with himself. Angry with himself. Guilty. Again. But not for the past. For the present.

"Damn the fool who ruined it then. Here" Arion replied, taking off the jacket he had been wearing and offered it to evan "You need something warm or something. Or do you not want it? We can get you something" He put the jacket near evan and responded in concern "Can I do anything? Is there anything I can do?" It was so shocking of how quick he was to anger to needing to comfort his friend. Then again it was so shocking that Arion actually wasn't a coward this time.

[Rowan/Evan Thompson]

Evan hissed at the pain. He heard his words and nodded.

"Sorry. When I awoke up part of me was afraid it was just a dream. That you were still gone. But you found me. You saved my life. Even after how I treated you. Thank you." said Evan.

He sighed.

"Guess he's not going to tell anything about us now. But my body guard kept me safe. You're definitely hired by the way. I wanted to be alone so I ran away from the guards that were supposed to protect me. And then I ran away from you leaving myself open. I'm a fool. If you hadn't shown up I'd be dead. And only three people would really care. You, Loki, and Richard. But I'm sure you could all get over it." said Evna.

He heard his words and shook his head.

"It's not your fault. I was stubborn, hurting and stupid. I should have never left the palace. I should have just stayed in my room. He could have easily have killed you too. I nearly got us both killed. I'm so sorry." said Evan.

He burst into tears looking away ashamed. He paused as Arion handed him the jacket and evan paused shaking his head.

"No. I'm sorry. I can't. I meant what I said. I did forgive you but that doesn't stop the pain. You weren't just my best friend. You were like my brother. And you left me alone with that monster. Days of grueling training, barely any food or any sleep. And that's not all. I didn't tell anyone this. Not even Loki or Richard. The few moments I got to spend with you were the only thing I had to look forward to. And you let Laufey split us up. I eventually couldn't take it and fled to Earth like a coward. You were the last real happiness I had. Loki and Richard and the others here have been great but I've never truly been happy since then. People have hurt me, abused me, dated me, and then tossed me aside like I was just garbage. As much as I want you back in my life it hurts as well. I feel like my heart shattered that day you walked away. And I just haven't been able to pick up all the pieces yet." said Evan.

He paused as he asked if he could do anything.

"Stay with me. We had some good times and seeing you after all this time just makes me remember them. I haven't thought of them in so long because I was just focusing on the pain and the betrayal. Like the time we stole the mink rug from my father and buried it. He spent weeks looking for that thing and never found it." said Evan.

He chuckled just thinking about that.

(ooc: was thinking loki and richard could probably join this thread at some point. Perhaps this is could be when richard realizes how close he came to losing evan and blurts out his feelings or something. xd)

[Arion]

(OCC: Oh sure. After this post and your reply, I'll bring Loki and richard in and allow Richard to confess his feelings. Because I want them to be together so badly)

"It is no trouble Evan. I don't blame you for the way you treated me previously. I deserved it. I am just glad I fixed some of my mistakes. More importantly, I am glad you are still breathing" Arion said, a sad smile on his face. He gently looked over Evan, not wanting to go too far but gently patting his shoulder as Evan was wincing. He was becoming more and more protective now that he did what he did. He didn't regret any of this. If it meant being with evan, it was worth every shout, snap, retort and sobbing session.

"Well splendid. I'm glad I'm hired. Now I'm extra aware I need to protect you, no regrets" Arion said, a honest smile and a sincere tone in his voice. He continued with a slight guilty look but it faded very quickly, instead replaced with a assuring look "Forgive me. I should've captured him but... I was seeing red so to speak. I didn't want to lose you after years of being a idiot and a coward myself. You were no fool to run off from me. You were angry. It may have been irrational but understandable. But hopefully, that won't happen again"

"Yes it was. I was too excited to see you. I forgot that what I did had much more of a impact on you emotionally. Sure I was extremely guilty and suffered it but you suffered more than I. I deserved your scorn. But I am extremely glad you have forgiven me. I am extremely glad you want to be friends with me again. That you offered me kindness when I honestly did not deserve it. Now that I have it, I will never take advantage of it the way I did again" Arion said, upset to see Evan crying, Arion quickly tried to comfort his old friend. Desperate he responded "My death would be worth it if it meant you have the chance to live. To be with your brother at long last and with.... Wait. Who's richard?" Richard, little did Arion know, was another friend of Evan's. One that would be coming shortly with the king. But that wasn't right now so he didn't know. He shook his head "Never mind. I'm focusing on you. I could care less about my own life. Your life is worth more than mine"

"I am sorry. I thought you would want it. That is alright. I am taking too many liberties right now" Arion said, his voice rather sympathetic and patient. He quickly put his jacket back on, his eyes looking softly at his old friend. Arion now knew that even though he had his friendship back, Evan's kindness/forgiveness did not mean he trusted Arion enough yet. That healing still needed to take place. Arion was very aware he needed to tread lightly. If he screwed up again, it could ruin Evan completely and Arion didn't want that for him. At all. He frowned as Evan confessed that Arion, during his years of abuse, was the only thing keeping him together at all. Now the guilt was so much more than previously. Arion sighed "I hate the people who took advantage of you, I hate myself far more now. I don't deserve any compassion from you, which makes me still grateful you give me any at all. Your kindness, this time, will not be taken for small pieces. I will treat them as if you are giving me gold. I swear on my ancestor's graves that I will never make you feel the pain you felt when I left"

"Yes. I will stay. Of course I will stay" Arion obediantly replied. He then listened to the memories they shared and Arion laughed softly in remembrance. "That Mink rug was terrible. I don't understand why he liked it. We did him a favor. We also stole that blasted headpiece he wore as a crown. Atrocious thing. We buried it near the same place we buried the mink rug" He chuckled as he continued to talk about the past. About happier times. About the memories that were good rather than bad. He then turned to hear clicking footsteps, which were fast-paced and filled with worry, and a loud voice(Richard) screaming Evan's name.

Evan smiled at him.

"I'm glad we're friends again. I really have missed this. Just don't ever leave me again. I don't think I could take that again." said Evan.

Evan nodded.

I'm glad you're safe as well. If that guy had hurt you he would have regretted it." said Evan.

Evan paused at Arion's words and sighed.

"I wasn't prepared for battle but I am good fighter. I will not let anyway treat me like an invalid or I have to protected. I will not let anyone not you, not my brother or Richard get hurt or killed trying to protect me. It's one thing to be my bodyguard but I will not let people control my life. I let Laufey did that for too long and I won't go back to that. Never again." said Evan.

Evan paused shaking his head.

"Do I wish he was alive to find out why he did this sure? But I'm not angry with you. You saved my life. You did what you had to. You're not to blame. I was the fool who ran off from my guards and you. I'm only lucky I had you. If it wasn't for you I'd be dead. I owe you my life."said Evan.

Evan paused at his words.

"What happened in the past is in the past. I still hate you left me. I'm still hurting but I want to move past it. I want us to be friends again but it will take time for me to be able to really trust you again." said Evan.

Evan paused at his words shaking his head.

"Don't you ever say that again. Your life is very important. Certainly more important than a cowardly prince who abandoned his kingdom." said Evan.

He paused at Arion's words.

"Richard's my friend. Before I met him I was beginning to think I didn't deserve friendship or love. But he began to change that for me. And now I have you back. I have two friends now. That's two more than I ever thought I'd have." said Evan.

Evan paused at his words and sighed.

"It's too soon. Sorry. I wish I knew the magic spell to repair that shirt though. It was one of the first shirt's I bought on Earth. I kept it and it was always a personal treasure for me. Now it's gone." said Evan.

Evan paused at Arion's words and grinned.

"You sound like Richard and Loki. They didn't like how people have treated me either. And you should stop putting yourself down. You were my light within the darkness and my pain Arion. We drifted apart thanks to Laufey but you were always there for me when it mattered in the past. And you proved that today when you saved my life." said Evan.

Evan grinned as Arion said he would stay. He chuckled as they talked about their past.

"It certainly was. Such a tacky looking thing. I remember stealing his crown. He spent weeks looking for that thing even after he made another one." said Evan.

He laughed before stopping as he winced his chest starting to hurt.

"Okay. I guess I shouldn't laugh while I'm recovering." said Evan.

He paused looking up hearing someone call his name. It sounded familiar.

"Richard?" asked Evan.

"I will not leave you again. I was foolish back then. That has changed" Arion swore as evan asked him not to leave. Arion missed this too. He then softly grinned as Evan said that if the attempted assassin hurt arion, he would've regretted it "I'm sure he would. Nobody should make you angry. Believe me" He chuckled softly, despite his tone previously being serious.

"Of course. I completely understand. You are right. I was just speaking that I will make sure to do my destined job well, should you need me. You do have the right to take care of yourself" Arion said, trying to make sure he didn't upset or anger his friend. It was only recently evan forgave him. He didn't want to overdo his boundaries. It could cost him quite a lot and trouble would be within the two all over again. This was fragile and arion knew that. He then sighed "You owe me nothing, my friend. You gave me everything I wanted. Your forgiveness and willingness to be my friend once more. As well as give me the comfort of being your bodyguard whenever you need me"

"I do wish to make it up to you regardless. I made a huge mistake. Yes I too wish to move past it but I wish to prove myself to you far more than I did" Arion softly responded. He then saw Evan tell him that his life meant a lot, more than his and arion shook his head "You did not abandon us. We abandoned you. We weren't aware of laufey's abuse to you and those who were, were too afraid. We should be apologizing to you more than anything. I mean nothing compared to you, my friend"

"Ah! So he has been good to you. Splendid. He is now my friend also, since he has treated you well" Arion said, a big grin on his face, glad to see evan wasn't really alone. That richard was around for him. He then shook his head "No. Do not be sorry. You still aren't ready for things like this yet. I completely understand. I wish you could have that shirt back though" He then softly sighed as evan responded that he shouldn't put himself down so much "It's too late for that. I've punished myself far more than anyone has realized. But I do not care about that. I don't ever wish for you to be mistreated by anyone ever again including myself"

"I remember that! That crown looked even worse!" Arion laughed before stopping. He then was about to comment on evan's health when he heard two people coming in. He turned and saw the king and the fact loki was thanking him was a accomplishment but he only bowed "Do not thank me your highness. It was only to save evan. I very much appreciate your kindness and compassion" He then saw Richard berate him angrily, saying that arion's arrival is what caused this whole thing. Loki did stop him but richard's anger fell on him like a river. Richard was much more angrier than arion was prepared for. He couldn't say anything due to richard being so quick and fast, he looked like he was ready to kill him. He then was about to stand up for himself when richard said something shocking and he turned to see evan's response

"Brother!" Loki said as he and Richard came over. He then turned to the medical people, thanked them then turned to Evan "Brother. Do you know who did this to you?" He listened to evan explain that he didn't but that arion saved him. Despite knowing the backstory, the guard told him arion changed his ways. And despite showing dislike in his features, he was grateful for arion saving his brother and unlike richard, was prepared to also forgive. Evan was safe and sound thanks to arion, but despite all the things evan told him, this was a serious accomplishment and loki was extremely grateful. However he spoke to evan first, his tone affectionate "Do you really want him as your bodyguard brother? And more importantly, do you need more medicine? Do you need anything? It is fortunate the assassin is dead for if he lived, he would die by my hand rather than arion's. And believe me, that would be a fate much worse than what arion gave him"

He then turned to Arion and bowed respectfully "Arion. Your nobility, despite the past, is much appreciated. You not only saved a prince, you saved someone extremely dear to my heart and that is worth many rewards. We will see what you make of yourself, but for now you will be rewarded with great care and room. Forgive me if I sound slightly less thankful than I am. I was not prepared for this horrible crime" He turned to evan again and was about to say more when Richard took the scene. Loki went over and made sure richard did not attack arion "Richard Hughes, I completely understand your frustration and anger" He looked to evan apolegetically, as he turned to richard once more "But attacking arion right now is not appropriate. Evan's attempted murder is. You must calm down. We can discuss this later" When angerily berated against, Loki tried his hardest not to get upset, so he sounded firm "Do not test me, Mr. Hughes. I care about my brother just as much as you. You are clearly upset and you must calm down. You are causing a disturbance" Suddenly richard snapped and confessed something and Loki was not prepared, as evidenced with his shocked look. He then softly responded as richard covered his mouth "Oh. I did not realize...." He then saw richard begin to apologize and he turned to evan, seeing he was now in charge of the conversation

"Evan! Oh my god! Are you alright? I heard everything! Evan!" Richard ran right towards evan, passing loki and coming closer to evan. Tears immediately streamed down his face as he saw evan's injured top half, he was so close to losing evan it wasn't even funny. The fear and emotions got through to him faster than a speeding bullet. This was similar to his reaction to casey's death... No, maybe it was worse. Actually yes it was worse. Richard looked him over, hugely concerned, softly crying as if evan was indeed dead. "I wasn't there for you" He mumbled as Loki began to thank arion. He then heard arion's name and his head snapped, and the tears streamed but his expression was much, much, much more angry. It was similar to his reaction to torian, but it was not jealousy. It was rage. Pure rage. He couldn't help himself.

"You fucking bastard! How could you show up and just fucking scare Evan like this?! This is all your fucking fault, you piece of jotun shit!" Richard snapped, rising and his breathing like a stallion galloping "I'm going to fuck you up, you'll pay for what you did to him and what could've happened to him because of your sorry ass crawlin back!" He started getting more and more upset, tears blinding him "I could've lost him because of you! Because of that bastard that nearly killed him! I am so sick of everyone hurting evan. Maybe I should hurt you, in fact I will!"

He then ran over but was stopped by loki, who was much more calmer. "Calm down? HA! That's rich! That's really rich, your highness! Sorry, but no can do. Wait, how the fuck can you be so calm?!" He growled angrily "Don't you care about your brother? This punk-ass abandoned him years ago now he's back and everything's all fine and dandy. Maybe I was wrong and you don't care about him at all!" He then saw Loki just calmly respond that he was being disturbing and Richard just couldn't take it and jabbed his finger right on Loki's chest "No! I'm not disturbing the peace! I'm caring about Evan! I care about him more than any of you combined! I lost people I loved before, I REFUSE to lose evan! I'm not losing the one I love you hear me?!" He then covered his mouth in pure shock, tears stopping finally and he turned to evan. Shocked and scared. "Evan... I... I'm so sorry. I..."

Evan grinned.

"Thank you. I don't think I could handle losing you again." said Evan.

He chuckled as well.

"Good to see you remember that." teased Evan.

Evan relaxed a little and nodded.

"Thanks. I've been take care of myself for years so it has taken some time to adjust to having bodyguards. But I have you back in my life. And that's all that matters." said Evan.

He paused smiling as Arion said he didn't owe him anything. Even though Evan felt like he had. But he gave up. They were both so stubborn they could argue in circle for hours some times. He smiled at him.

"You'll get that chance. But I don't give out third chances. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice you better hope you're good at hide and go seek." said Evan.

He said that so coldly that he sounded almost like a different person. He paused as Arion said they all should apologize to him.

"Is that why they've sent you over? Has what Laufey done to me become public knowledge? It was bad enough Loki, Richard, and you knew. I didn't want everyone to know." said Evan.

Evan grinned.

"Richard and Loki have both been great. My best friend and my brother. Well one of my best friends." said Evan.

He sighed as Arion tried to apologize. Evan paused looking at his shirt deciding to try a spell figuring what the heck.

"Let the object of objection become but a dream as I cause the seen to be unseen." said Evan.

He gasped as his shirt restored itself in a flash of white lights. Evan grabbed it grinning.

"It worked. I've been working on that spell. Mostly to help with cleaning. But it fixes things too." said Evan.

He paused looking in shock as Loki and Richard came in.

"No I don't know his name. It happened so fast. I admit it's my fault. I slipped away from my guards. I wanted to be alone. Then I ran into Arion and I lost it. I fled like the coward I am and got attacked. If Arion hadn't shown up I'd be gone. I owe him my life. So of course he can be my bodyguard. He saved my life. The least I could do is entrust it to him." said Evan.

Evan paused turning to Richard.

"It's no one's fault but my own. The three of you are not to blame. And neither are the guards. You punish even one of them and you will hear from me brother. They did their jobs. I was the one who snuck away. I have a few tricks they weren't prepare for. I am a sorcerer after all." said Evan.

He paused as Richard snapped at Arion and said he was going to kill you. Evan gasped getting to his feet immediately.

"No! Stop! Don't hurt him!" said Evan.

He took a few steps before collapsing to the ground his injuries more serious than he realized.

"Please don't fight. No more fighting." said Evan.

He paused hearing Richard's words his eyes widening at the mention of love as he began to tear up. Then he chuckled bitterly as he grabbed the edge of the bed to pull himself up into a sitting position on the floor.

"You're wrong. It's not love. What you had with Casey that's love. I'm nothing special. Not for you three to fight over. Not for you to love Richard. I know the truth. Jack was right. I'm never going to have love because I'm not worthy of it. My mother died. My father treated his servants better than me. Arion abandoned me once out of fear. Every friend, boyfriend, and girlfriend I've had has just used me and dumped me. Maybe it would have been better if that guy had just finished me off. Then I could finally be at peace." said Evan.

"You will not have to. I promise this" Arion replied assuringly. He then listened to evan say it was good he remembered that evan did not have a good temper and he nodded humbly, despite the fact evan was teasing. He then nodded again as evan said that he was just glad to have arion back in his life "As am I. I am honored to have you back" He then gulped as his friend turned into someone much colder. It was similar to when they reunited. It scared arion in a sense. "Rest assured, my friend, your kindness will not be taken for granted"

"Well not really. They did not want me. They wanted someone a bit stronger but I convinced them by saying I had a personal connection. I did not tell them of your abuse if you're worried. They figured it out for themselves, I do not know how, but they regret not knowing of this. I tried to get them away from this, seeing you might not be comfortable talking about it but I am only of the court, so my opinion does not matter to them" Arion reluctantly confessed. He had a feeling Evan would not be too pleased to know tons of his people knew of his bad times. It was too personal. But arion couldn't really stop them. He DID try though but they would not listen to someone like him.

"That is fantastic, evan. I am very pleased. I am very glad richard is one of your close friends and you have been closer to Loki. This is very good news for me!" Arion said, a delighted grin on his features. He then listened as Evan chanted a spell and made his favorite shirt return to reality and Arion cheered "By the norns! Well done my friend! Well done! That is amazing! Your magic is working well!"

Arion then saw Evan quickly give loki permission to make him a bodyguard, as well as stand up for him by getting up and telling richard to stop fighting. Arion gasped as Evan got up and despite remembering Evan did not want to be babyed, Arion was quickly to help him. He then frowned deeply as evan said it was better to have him killed because he didn't deserve any of this, and said at the same time as Richard and Loki "That is not true!" He then saw Loki speak up about how important he was to him and arion responded "Your brother is correct, evan. You mean more to us than ever. Your life is extremely important. You deserve happiness and a second chance just as much as me. Do not be so fretful of yourself" He then sighed as he was mentioned to abandon out of fear "That is true. But I did not abandon you because of you, it was because of your father. But that does not excuse what I did, and you should not hate yourself because of what I did. Please evan, listen to your brother and Mr. Hughes"

"Evan!" Loki shouted in shock as Evan demanded this to stop, Loki quickly pushed richard away from arion and stood as if protecting the friend. It wasn't because he did not like richard, it was to keep the peace and to make evan far less stressed. He then saw Evan bitterly respond to them that what richard felt was not love, that he wasn't special and that he wasn't worth fighting over or being loved by someone. Then he mentioned a man named jack and that he was not worthy of love, that his mother's death, his father's abuse and arion's abandonment were all because he deserved it. He said at the same time as Richard and Arion "That is not true!"

He then went over and responded "Evan, you cannot say such things. Whomever this "jack" is, is nothing but a insolent worm. You should not allow his words to affect you like this. You are my brother. We may have not shared the same past, but we are going to share the same future. We are family and you mean a lot to me. You are so much wiser than I, so much kinder than I, so much braver than I. Sure, I have suffered but you survived far worse. You deserve so much and then some" He then saw Arion back him up then he made Arion back off so richard could come closer. He didn't know how to approach richard but he definitely knew richard cared for evan and therefore would be fine with evan. Even if this was a tense conflict.

Richard's anger ignored evan's cries for arion's mercy and he tried desperately to get to arion but loki was standing in his way. Then he heard a slight thump and saw the injured evan keel over in pain, he was trying to make this nonsense stop. Seeing evan's hurt body and begging tone caused Richard to finally calm down. He started to panic, seeing Evan was getting bitter again. Fuck. He got too angry again. He was losing evan. He was so wrong about arion. This fight was his fault and it was costing his relationship with evan. "That's not true!" He cried as he, loki and arion stopped evan from being so hurtful against himself. He then saw both Arion and Loki speak about how important Evan was to them. And Richard knew he screwed up so badly. He DID want to confess to Evan but not in this fashion. But it was too late and the only way to take it back was to lie and say it wasn't true and Richard certainly didn't want to do that.

"Evan... I'm sorry. I wanted to tell you later but this whole crime shit happened and I screwed up so badly" He then began to sob, feeling the impact of evan's attempted murder as well as this life-changing confession crush down on him. "Evan. I know I married someone else and this seems like I'm rebounding but you have to believe me when I'm saying I'm not" He wiped his tears, afraid evan now officially hated his guts "I think I fell for you when we were at the gardens not too long ago. I didn't tell you because I was scared and you were very vunerable. I didn't want to hurt you. Now look. I fucked it up" He started crying "I love you evan but you don't deserve what I did. I'm not the right person. I'm too protective. Too angry. Too much" He confessed "You deserve so much more than what I can give you. Your brother is right. You deserve more. I love you but..." He wiped his tears "You're in a bad spot. You don't deserve such pressure. Maybe I should go" He then felt a hand on his arm. He turned and saw even stare at him

Evan smiled glad Arion was sticking around and vowed to protect him. It felt really good to have Arion back in his life. Maybe he wasn't as worthless as he felt. He looked up in surprise as Arion revealed the Frost Giants didn't want him go at first but Arion had talked them into it. He was then starting to panic learning it was public knowledge what his father had done to him.

"No. I didn't want everyone to know. I told Richard and Loki because I trust them. But I didn't want the whole kingdom to know about this." said Evan.

Now they would see him as the worthless and cowardly prince he truly was. News would spread to Asgard and soon everyone here would know about it soon enough.

"Now everyone's going to talk about it. Whispering behind my back. Feeling sorry for me. Or insulting me. It was my life and I wanted it to stay private." said Evan.

He paused now near tears afraid to even leave this room. He paused looking up grinning as Arion was glad Richard was good friends with him. Evan was glad he fixed his shirt. At least something was going right today. He slipped it on and relaxed as the arguing finally stopped. Hearing them all say it wasn't true he shook his head.

"Of course it's true. I'm worhtless, cowardly, good for nothing. I'm not even worthy enough to shine your shoes brother. I'm not worthy of your friendship or your love. I'm not worthy of anything." said Evan.

He heard Arion's words as tears began to fall.

"Of course I hate myself. I was the weak one. The weak link. My father saw me as weak so he treated me badly. You saw me as weak and left me. I was easily manipulated and tricked for people to use me on Earth. I was so desperate for love and happiness I let people in. Let them use me and each time they tossed me away like garbage. But after each time I still let someone else in. I thought this time would be different. And it never was. Maybe I've finally realized my purpose. That I don't have one. I remember why the man was after me now. He wanted revenge saying Loki killed his family. My life's not worth anything so it would have been better if I died today." said Evan.

He paused looking at Loki as he asked about Jack.

"He's my ex-boyfriend. The last one I had before coming here. I told Richard about him once. He was manipulative, and possessive, and very abusive. But I thought I loved him and thought he loved me. I was wrong." said Evan.

Evan paused turning to Richard.

"I thought I had feelings for you then too. It's like I said. You're perfect and I'm not. But that's all they are. Feelings. I'm not worthy of love. I'll never be worthy of you. Dirt is more valuable than me." said Evan.

He paused as Richard was blaming himself and Evan shook his head.

"You didn't ruin anything Richard. You just overreacted." said Evan.

He paused as Richard started to go and Evan grabbed his arm out of reflex. He paused letting go fresh tears going down his face.

"You said you'd be different. That you'd be there for me. That you'd never leave me and now you're leaving. Jack and Laufey were right all along. I'm just a worthless human being not worth anyone's time." said Evan.

He paused as a transparent Jack appeared next to him as Evan looked confused.

"You're absolutely right Evan. I didn't really love you. You were just fun to fool around with and beat up once and awhile. And you were so obedient. Like a lovesick puppy. I should have gotten a leash for you. And maybe a muzzle too." said Jack.

He laughed as Evan glared at him.

"You'll pay for what you did to me. When I get my hands on you..."

Evan swung at him but his hand passed through Jack's chest.

"What the-"

Jack grinned at Evan.

"You never were very bright were you? I'm not really here my little pet. You're losing your mind. Must have been something on that dagger. Only you can see and hear me. This will be fun. I get to help break you all over again. Shame I'm not really here to see this." said Jack.

Evan shook his head in panic backing away from the imaginary Jack.

"No. Stay away from me. No more Jack. Please." said Evan.

"You're just weak as you always were." said another voice.

Evan paused seeing a transparent Laufey and paled.

"No. You can't be here Laufey. You're dead." said Evan.

"Is that anyway to talk to your father?" said Laufey.

He paused waving his hand as Evan gasped as he lost control of his hands as they started to choke him. He gasped regaining control realizing Jack was right. He was losing his mind. No that wasn't really Jack. Just as this wasn't really his father.

"Get out of my head. Please. Leave me alone." thought Evan.

He paused looking up as he saw Loki, Arion, and Richard only they didn't look concerned anymore. They looked annoyed and very angry. Something wasn't right. He paused seeing a dagger resting on the table that had been removed from his clothes while he was being treated. He crawled over grabbing it.

"Yes. Take the dagger. You know what to do." said Laufey.

"Yes. Make the pain go away like you tried to before. Only this time no mistakes." said Jack.

Evan nodded for once agreeing with Jack and Laufey.

"Yes. I can make the pain all go away." said Evan.

He slid his sleeves back revealing the scars on his wrists as he lowered the knife towards his wrists.

(ooc: decided to have the knife cursed for added drama. loki could cure it with the right spell, potion, etc. and this would also reveal to loki and arion about the scars on evan's arms. feel free to stop him. Although now loki, arion and richard will mostly be ignored or distorted by the curse into something harmful.)

Arion was guilty because of evan's fear "It was not my doing, I tried to tell them it was not their business but they wished to make it up to you. We can fix this those if it really displeases you, friend" Arion then listened with huge distaste as evan began to sink lower and lower into despair and depression. He then started to rant about how horrible he was, and how unworthy he was of any of them and that he deserved to die. Arion was terrified that Evan was going to do something extremely drastic and it turned out it was going to happen. Due to paranoia or some type of despair, something was disturbing Evan's mind. He was going insane with his self-hate and taking everything the wrong way. Arion knew for sure this was not only evan's fault. Something was amist. "Loki! Stop him! He's going mad!" Arion said out of pure panic "Evan! Snap out of it! Laufey and Jack are not here!" He then saw Evan choking and Arion cried out "Evan! Stop it! You're choking! Stop!" He started turning to Richard who was screaming and grabbing onto Evan, begging for him to stop also.

He then saw Evan grab a knife and shouted, holding one side of evan away while richard held the other "No! Evan! Don't do it! The pain will not stop! Let go of that knife, it's enchanted!" He then saw Loki pass them both, grab the knife, and quickly destroy it with a incantation, calling for medics to once again come to evan's aide. He and Richard both went to the despaired evan and arion allowed Richard to apologize and then he was shocked to see richard say his confession once more. He saw Evan's arms and gasped, shocked at the scars "By the norns. No. Evan..." He realized how deeply evan was affected and the very knowledge caused arion's eyes to swell with tears.

"Brother, you know deep in your heart this is not true. You are worthy. You do not need to be above me. You already are. Your kindness is far beyond mine own" Loki said, his words filled with sincerity. Loki was a amazing smooth-talker, so evan's words were just ones Loki could easily look over. He then growled at learning that jack was a previous abusive boyfriend "Then damn him evan, he is not worthy, he should be the one to be treated as dirt, you are much, much more valuable than he said you were. His words are lies!" However Richard's responses were much more frightened for evan than his was then suddenly Evan was going insane, claiming Laufey and Jack were now in the room with him, despite the fact no-one besides the four men were here. Loki, Richard and arion were all shocked when Evan was going insane and Arion spoke up before Richard. When Arion told him to make it stop, Loki quickly ran over to figure out what was wrong. "A spell. Something in this room is in some sort of paranoid spell. It's feeding on his fear" He turned and saw it quickly was the knife and before any of them could take it, Evan grabbed it first, saying he was going to end it all. Revealing his scars. Loki's heart stopped, horrified at what abuse evan had to endure, both by others and himself. And it caused not only horror, but anger at the people evan encountered and the people who hurt evan, if he saw ANY of those people Loki would kill them.

"Evan! Brother!" Loki shouted as he saw Evan lower the knife on his wrists. Quickly, with arion and richard going over to stop him, took the knife and quickly observed it. Immediately Loki could tell this knife was not one of his or any one else's... Yet. He didn't know where it came from but he would find out soon. Right after he got rid of it. He closed his eyes and ignored evan's screams, seeing it was only the paranoia of the knife, and chanted words from old norse tongue. Saying that the knife was only a waste of magic, and that it must be gone. He chanted and the knife glowed a dark red, as if protesting loki's words but loki held firm and chanted louder, his voice booming and demanding. Then with a slight white bright light, the knife was destroyed and loki saw his hands were gone. However the battle for evan's safety was far from over. Quickly he shouted "Medics! Nurses! Come in the name of the king! Prince Evan is in serious trauma!" He went out and demanded loudly for some assistance. He turned over and saw Arion and Richard hold fast to the disturbed evan and Loki responded softly "Hold on brother, we are going to help you"

"No evan. Feelings aren't just there. Feelings come for a reason. You ARE worthy of love. If I'm worthy, so are you. I'm not perfect. Nobody is. I told you Evan, you need to care for yourself more than anything" Richard responded, finding desperation to make his mistakes up, even though it seemed evan was more mad at himself than anyone else. "Exactly. That's not what I was supposed to do. I got scared and mad that you were going to be dead. And I wouldn't be there for you. Like I promised to be" Richard's voice cracked due to the nervousness he was having at the moment. He frowned deeply, tears starting to come back as Evan said that despite promises, richard was going to leave him "No! I'm never leaving YOU I though you wanted to be away from the pressure I was giving you. Like a breather! It's not like this evan, really!"

Suddenly Evan stopped looking at him and at the wall "Evan?" He asked before Evan started rambling about jack and how abusive he was, then reacting as if someone was teasing/bullying him. "Evan! It's me! What are you doing?!" He then saw Evan get choked and richard cried out "Evan! Stop that! You're hurting yourself! Stop!" He tried to stop evan but it didn't seem to work. He then saw Evan look at him in horror "Evan, what's wrong?! Tell us!" Richard began panicking "None of this wouldn't of happened if I just kept my fucking mouth shut! Evan's going insane because of me!" He then saw Evan grab a knife and he screamed at the top of his lungs "NO!" And pulled one side of evan's body away from the knife, while arion took another and loki swapped the knife. Seeing Loki destroy it did not sooth Richard's heart. Evan was in trouble still.

"Evan. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I didn't want this to happen. Don't leave me. Please" Richard begged, despite the possible negative response Richard came closer to evan and tried to hug him "Evan please. Don't leave me. Don't leave us. We need you. I need you" He started crying, having all the emotions he pushed down just spew out like a volcano. "No evan, you mean more to me than ever. I'll do anything to prove it to you. I know you don't believe in yourself but I do" He sighed, hiccuping because of his crying "I love you!"

With his failed attempt to end the pain his delusions began to change. Evan was so wrapped up in his own pain to listen to what everyone else was saying. The dagger was feeding his fear and paranoia and creating illusions. In his mind he was being held by Frost Giants while Loki, Richard, and Arion stood before him in chains.

"No. Wait. " said Evan.

"Since you won't get rid of yourself guess I'll have to take care of the three problems." said Laufey.

He quickly stabbed Loki and Arion as they dropped to the ground. Jack chuckled walking up to Richard.

"Laufey's given Evan back to me where he should have stayed all along. But it's time I eliminate the competition." said Jack.

He stabbed the imaginary Richard who fell to the ground.

Evan struggled in the "Frost Giants" arms not realizing it was his friends holding him.

"No! Richard. Loki. Arion. All dead. Now I'm all alone again." said Evan.

He paused as Jack walked up to him with a grin.

"Now it will be just you and me. Just like you always wanted." said Jack.

"No. I don't want to be back with you Jack. said Evan.

"Jack" took the knife from him and he was furious. He struggled in vain as he gave out dropping to his knees.

"I failed them. I failed them all." said Evan.

"Soon I will rule the nine Realms and Loki will be nothing but a distant memory." said Laufey.

At that moment the dagger shattered destroyed as the illusions start to fade. Evan blinked looking up see the living Richard, Arion, and Loki. He pulled back from them who seemed to let him go. He sat down on he bed curling up into a ball.

"Everyone's dead. Surrounded by impostors and illusions. Surrounded by fakes. Why did my father have to do this to me?" mumbled Evan.

(ooc: the spell's slowly fading but the residual effects made him think everything he saw was "real" so he's a bit panicky and paranoid still. in a post or two was going to have him calm down and be can wonder what was real and what wasn't. decided to write this pretty late. so if i need to add more or edit this awhile. had muse and decided to to this thread. xD)

Arion, for a lack of a better word, was horrified. He didn't know what to do. Evan's mind was completely insane by this point. Despite Loki demanding for help, nobody seemed to arrive in time. So it was just the four of them and while Richard was the emotional one and loki was the calm one, Arion was somewhere between. He was freaking out but wasn't to the point of sobbing like Richard was. As Evan got up and curled up on the bed, he wanted richard to not go near, worried evan would lash out but it seemed richard was too worried himself to bother about his own safety. Loki was getting increasingly impatient but arion saw richard lean near evan, trying to offer consoles. When richard started to mumble and hiccup from sobbing so much, arion went over and held richard's back with his hand, rubbing in support.

"Evan we are real. When that knife was around, that is when things were unreal. This is no illusion. We still live. Evan, snap out of it. Please, we're incredibly worried about you. My dear friend, you should not suffer this much" Arion said, his tone incredibly soft and even soothing.

"Oh by ymir! Where are the medics?!" Loki shouted as Evan started panicking again "MEDICS! Damnit! Where are you?! Prince Evan is in dire need!" Loki was beyond angry but not at evan, but what was happening. His brother was harmed and he wasn't doing anything right. He hated himself for getting evan into this position, despite the fact it wasn't his fault. He was just scared that his little brother was in a sense incredibly sick. He wanted to care for his brother yet it didn't seem to be working. "Do I have to do this myself, is there no concern here other than us?!" He growled, frustrated and some sort of panic in his tone "Norns, maybe my magic can sooth him" He went over to richard seeing him just as upset, maybe even more so. "Mr.... Richard. Move please" When Richard moved, loki's hand glowed a bright pink, a soothing spell that was supposed to calm down evan's mind and make him not so fearful/paranoid

"Brother. It is Loki. You are safe. Everything you saw previously was only the enchantment of the knife. I need you to relax and come back to us. I wish for you to be well and I am going to help you. Evan, please, do not be filled with despair" Loki's voice was soothing, comforting, incredibly different from his previous frustration. He wanted evan to feel safe, hopefully this magic would help him. If it didn't maybe he needed to use a stronger spell.

"Evan, evan, it's me! I'm here! Laufey isn't here, we are! Come back to me please!" Richard begged as evan curled up into a ball. Despite not wanting to let go, evan seemed to be completely paranoid. Richard, despite arion's look of worry, went over and bent to be close as possible to evan. Richard didn't care if evan hurt him, in a way richard wouldn't blame him. This was all his fault. All this nonsense was because richard was just upset because the man who happened to save his life was evan's previous friend. Anger for evan's past problems lead up to this moment. And richard was beyond angry at himself, resulting in guilt and the sobbing mess he was now. "I'm sorry" Richard said, his breathing hiccupish because of his crying "I'm sorry evan. I didn't want this for you. I'm a terrible person. I never should've said anything" He went over and held evan's hand, holding it to his tear-stricken face. He looked at evan's curled up body and responded "I love you evan, please believe me. I hurt you and I didn't want to. I promised to be there and I wasn't. I failed you. Evan, please talk to me. Say something"

Feeling arion's support made him feel a bit better, but not by much, it wasn't until Loki called him richard that he started to calm down. He then saw Loki try to sooth his brother, and richard covered his face with his hands, praying to whatever god could hear him to fix evan in a sense that would make the man not so paranoid and mentally tortured. Richard once again began to have trouble breathing. Casey, God, Odin, Thor, whoever the fuck is listening, please help him. Please help him. I love him. I don't want him to be like this
